Our family absolutely loved our stay! We had so many laughs and meals together on the huge deck. Jo thought of everything you could possibly need. The house was amazing and peaceful. My kids (in their 30s) all acted like kids again out in the meadow and creeks. We can't wait to come back and relax again!!

The outdoor deck is the highlight of this property. We used it for grilling and eating meals, celebrating a birthday, relaxing and working on the numerous comfortable chairs and tables, soaking in the well-maintained hot tub, using the outdoor tiled shower that came supplied with shampoo and essentials, and exploring beyond the deck into the beautiful acrage. The indoor furniture, beds, pillows, and linens were extremely comfortable. The fresh farm eggs were a delicious welcome bonus. The additional eggs, beef, milk, and yogurt that we bought from the conveniently located store away were equally delicious. The house bedroom layout was a bit of a challenge. As correctly stated in the description, there are 3 private bedrooms. The front door opens directly to one of the bedrooms, which is spacious and has it's own bathroom. We worked around that by entering the house from the back deck. The other bedroom/office is connected to the primary bedroom, which you walk through to get to 2 bedrooms. The primary bedroom has no closet. The house can appear to have a cluttered look, but this did not affect the comfort and enjoyment of our stay. The house and surrounding property are a delight!

We were greeted with complimentary farm fresh eggs, coffee, soaps, shampoos and conditioner. At a great price we were even also offered fresh beef from the farm and it was absolutely impeccable. The property is literally minutes from downtown, shopping and dining and minutes from Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. The property was so cozy, the hot tub was a nice touch and the views from the front of the property were breathtaking. Communication was great and all questions were answered in a very timely manner. I have never stayed in a more well kept vrbo. We would definitely book again and would recommend this to any large group that is looking to get away to Buena Vista

Had a very nice stay. Jo was a great hostess and she was very accommodating. The working ranch feel is fun! Would have liked the front bedroom to have more privacy as it has windows/glass doors with only lace coverings. There are only 4 bedrooms. The extra beds are in common areas. Would love to see a disposal installed. It’s a great place for 2-3 couples. Proximity to town and mountain activities makes it a good location, but don’t expect vistas and views. This home is more the cozy type. The back deck area is superb; especially in the summer.

Seven girlfriends came to Buena Vista for a wonderful getaway weekend. The house was more than outstanding! When we arrived, it was kind of like a fairytale, we were all looking at the different bedrooms rooms trying to decide which room we wanted to sleep in! The beds were very comfortable and spacious. There’s plenty of room to gather in or find alone space. The backyard is breathtaking. The patio is covered so you can even eat outside when it’s raining! Which we did! It was so peaceful and beautiful. The hot tub was the most wonderful ending to a perfect day! We cooked breakfast and dinners in the magnificent kitchen. It had everything we needed, and then some. The farm is a working farm with chickens, and we were supplied each day with fresh eggs and herbs. Hettie and Jo we’re always readily available to answer any questions we had. My husband and I always stay in VRBO‘s, and this one by far was out standing! We’re already planning our next visit there! Stay here you’ll be glad you did!

Such a lovely house and property; it was hard to leave! It's a little bit outside of town and on a lot of land, so it's beautiful, private, and quiet. There were five of us; everyone had their own bed and space - awesome! The kitchen is clean and fully stocked; there's nothing you need to bring. Nice appliances, Ninja blender, air fryer, definitely ready for anything. The house is clean, and the beds are comfy. The highlight is the deck! So much room out on the deck, it's a wonderful, shady, relaxing spot. There are hummingbirds flitting around, lots of wild birds, and the owners have a friendly flock of chickens as well. The owner, Jo, was very kind and made sure we had what we needed. She texted the day before our rental started with some extra info, and checked in the day after we arrived to see if we needed anything. A little detail, but it was great to know she cared that we had a good time. I would definitely recommend this rental and I'd go back again!

Property is very well appointed for cooking and dining inside or out on the large deck that overlooks a tranquil forested meadow. It made a great central point for our extended group to coordinate from and the 8 of us who stayed there all had glowing reviews. We were delighted to find this property was so lovely and perfect for families. It is close to all the BV attractions but feels like you are isolated in the country. There is a marvelous large patio area which looks out over a meadow with babbling brooks and ponds, and even 2 horses. With little ones 5 and under we hardly needed to leave the property to have fun. They loved playing in the brook near the house and also feeding the chickens on site. The property is a working farm with an honor system for selling eggs, vegetable produce, beef, and honey and the workers were quite informative and friendly without ever intruding in our space. They were actually part of the delight of the place. Every time we had a request, it was answered immediately and respectfully. The house is charming and roomy and quite comfortable. Every window you look out has flowers and hummingbirds and beauty. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our time on the property! The house and grounds are clean and well-kept. The property manager on site was super friendly and communication was easy. My children enjoyed the chickens and being able to help feed and gather eggs. We also enjoyed our time down by the creek. The water was cold but my kids didn't mind splashing in the ankle deep part. We spent quite a bit of time on the amazing back porch. The pictures don't do it justice! The beds were very comfortable! The kitchen has everything you need to cook and there is a nice grill on the deck too. We enjoyed the complimentary dozen eggs! We will definitely return! I highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at this property. Its close to town but quiet & so peaceful & relaxing. The kids had plenty of room to run & play & we all enjoyed the huge deck. The property managers were there & let the kids help feed the chickens, which they loved! What little time the managers were on site, they were very unobtrusive. We only ate one restaurant meal during our stay because we so enjoyed eating outside on the huge covered patio. In my opinion, this is the heart of the house, surrounded by flowers, hummingbirds, the sounds of water and wind chimes. It looks out over the lush acreage, where you occasionally see two resident horses grazing. The hot tub is one of the cleanest we've been in, and the private, outside shower is fantastic. The owner and caretaking staff are super friendly and accommodating-- let the kids help feed the chickens once, told us about good fishing spots, etc. There are many great attractions within a relatively short drive. Did fishing, tubing, Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, Salida, etc. After busy, fun days this house was perfect to "come home" to. Too many thoughtful touches inside the house to mention. Thank you Jo and staff!

The pictures do not do the property justice. The home was larger than appeared in photos. The bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen was perfect. Lots of dinnerware, cookware and tons of spices to use for cooking. The back of the property is a sight to behold. The large deck with a hot tub and a gas grill with plenty of seating for gatherings. The acreage views from the deck are the most beautiful I have seen. The leaves were all golden, red and bright yellow. There also 2 horses that roam the property and are the sweetest. A small creek runs through the property as well. Great for sitting on the deck at night and listening to the running water. They also have chickens and can provide renters with fresh eggs. One of the property hands, Eddie, was so nice and helpful and showed us around the house and property. I could go on and on. This was the best rental experience have had to date.

We had such a great time at Jo’s ranch. The accommodation were great, we had everything we needed. Jo and her staff were accessible and helpful at any time. Fresh eggs were waiting for us when we arrived and made a great breakfast. But exploring the grounds was the best part. Mornings and evenings on the porch, or sitting in a chair by the creek - each location was delightful. There were plenty of great trails that were a short drive way, too.

I have stayed here previously with other family members and everyone enjoyed the area and of course our accommodations. My house is spacious and comfortable and very friendly. The surrounding property is beautiful with the streams, Meadows and wildlife that occupy it. It makes for a truly wonderful experience. We came this time and had several of the members who have not been here before, their comments on the house and the grounds were the same. It was most enjoyable and beautiful. The staff and Jo as the owner were very accommodating and very easy to work with in any situation. We highly recommend anyone looking to stay in the area consider this has their accommodations!

Jo has thought of everything for the house! No need to bring any shampoo or body wash, it is provided. We have never stayed at a house with a kitchen as stocked as this one. Every utensil you need is provided as well as spices. The property is absolutely amazing! We spent so much time with our little one exploring the property.

Our family had a delightful week in the Buena Vista area, in large part because of this home. There was plenty of room for our large group of 6 adults and 6 children to spread out. We could all be together at the dining table to eat dinner or the outdoor table to play games in the evening. There was alot of outdoor space to find a quiet corner to drink coffee and watch the hummingbirds or read a book or just 'think'. The kitchen was well used by our group. We ate breakfast in every morning and packed lunches to head out for each day's adventures. We cooked at 'home' most evenings. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, dishes and silverware. It was a pleasant surprise to find a spice rack filled with spices and a surplus of dinnerware and flatware. So many rentals have one per person! The outdoor space was a delightful surprise. Our first day we explored the property and found the tipi. There was a covered area off the house that could have been used in case of rain. The hot tub was a big hit and was used a couple times a day the first several days. Although this home was on the edge of town, it felt like we were in the country. The parking area accommodated the motorhome that some of us arrived in, plus several vehicles. In addition, and very importantly, the caretakers were very responsive when we contacted them about things like 'we might need more paper towels or dishwashing detergent'. The only negatives are that there is no garbage disposal because of the sewer system and the dishwasher was broken during the week that we were there. I'm sure that it has since been replaced. I was a little concerned that 2 1/2 baths might get crowded with the size of our group, but it seemed to work. Jo, the owner, has also been responsive and answered questions prior to our visit very thoroughly. Overall, we were 'over the top' happy with our choice of this property and would rebook it in a heartbeat!

We loved it - we had 3 couples and their kids, and had plenty of room for everyone. The kids loved playing in the stream and we all had a great time hanging out on the deck with the hot tub. The owner and property managers were great hosts and very responsive. Our extended family stayed here over Christmas and we had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful looking off the back deck. We would like to visit again in the summer to explore more. The kids would love it I am sure. The house is an older house that has been updated and well maintained. The kitchen was VERY well supplied, lots of pots and pans and lots of spices which is unusual and much appreciated. It had everything we needed. The owner left us a dozen fresh eggs , a special touch. The hot tub on the back deck was wonderful in the cold weather. Being the first one up in the mornings I enjoyed sitting in the hot tub overlooking the property. Peaceful. The location was great, close to town and also a quick trip to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs without going through town. The owner was very responsive ahead of time. We had to change our reservation by one day and she took care of that for us. We enjoyed the large dining room table for big meals and playing games. A memorable stay for us and we hope to do it again. Thanks Jo.

Beautiful, large property close to downtown Buena Vista and nearby shops and restaurants. A short jaunt to both Mt. Princeton and Cottonwood Hot Springs. The property has so much to offer families, from a great fire pit outside for s'mores, an antique barn, detached cabin, multiple bridges over streams, wildlife, and even a tepee. The large back deck was perfect for relaxing with multiple swings, seating areas, and a large hot tub. It kept both the kids and the adults entertained. The eclectic house was well-appointed and very clean, with plenty of space. It could house 3-4 families easily, without issue. K cups, ground coffee, fresh farm eggs, a wood-burning stove, and a popcorn maker were also on offer, which we enjoyed. The owner, Jo, was very welcoming and easily available via text. She even took the time out of her day to show a bunch of curious city kids how she fed and cared for the chickens. We'd recommend this place to anyone.

We have nothing but amazing things to say about our stay at the Spirit Ranch! Jo was a great host, she was available at all times for questions that we had and made us feel right at home. She even gave us a dozen fresh eggs from her chicken coop located on site. The deck looks out to acres of land that is available to explorer. I would absolutely stay at the Spirit Ranch again.

Home was nicely furnished and very clean. Kitchen was well stocked with good quality small appliances and accessories. Thank heavens for the nice large covered deck with hot tub/outside shower, in which all the bedrooms open up on to. It rained everyday we were there. Didn't get to explore much of the property due to the rain and mosquitoes. Overall, a comfortable home for a family vacation that is close to town and easy to locate.

This place is beautiful. The backyard is expansive and includes a tiered drop off with several streams running through. The back deck includes lounging areas, fire pit, hot tub, canopy, etc. The house is very nice, clean, and can sleep a lot of people. You have your own 15 acre slice of heaven at this place but are only 2 miles from downtown Buena Vista. The owner is very easy to deal with and extremely accommodating. Very highly recommended!

The appearance, atmosphere and charm of the house was outstanding. The natural beauty of the lower Meadow areas, stream and pond were as beautiful if not more so than described. The first morning there I saw a large Elk wandering through the meadow grazing, and as I walked through myself a large Hawk flew through toward the stream. Our whole group enjoyed the stay immensely. The rooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, quick in responding through the booking process and with the few questions we had while we were there. If anyone was to ask me if I would recommend staying here to someone else I would have to say that before our first day was over, we were talking about plans to come back again.

My 90 yr old mom, husband and 3 grown kids found this house to be the most awesome place for a 4 day reunion. We also had a couple of friends dropping in to stay. Jo and her friends go to great lengths to keep the place well maintained while her guests just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery off the porch facing the woods and mountains. The time we spent in the hot tub together was priceless as were the sit down dinners of family favorites I was able to prepare in the totally supplied kitchen. Jo responded quickly when I had a few questions as we settled in. We did 2 rafting trips and fished in nearby lakes. The city market and rally liquor drive thru were minutes away. I've stayed in a lot of VRBO s and this was one of the most comfortable. I wish we had spent more time there. I wasn't ready to leave. Thanks Jo, you are the hostess with the mostess.

We really enjoyed everything about this property. It is conveniently located but still off by itself. The access to all of the ponds and creeks are amazing with a fabulous porch/backyard to enjoy the evenings. Jo was a great host and communicated quickly and easily with all our needs. It was perfect for two families to vacation together and have beds for everyone and all the things you need to get along for a nice get-away. The kitchen has everything, just pack your bags and bring your food and the house takes care of the rest. The proximity to the hot springs is just a 5 minute drive for Cottonwood and 15 minutes for Mt. Princeton. There is tons of hiking and other outdoor activities close by and if you wanted to, you could spend your whole time on the property, just fishing, hiking around and enjoying the solitude. Thanks for a great visit...hopefully we will be back!

The home had everything we needed (except for a wine bottle opener;) and we were 10 minutes from the hot springs, 40 minutes from Monarch and the town of Buena Vista was charming. Hot tub was perfect, our kids loved seeing the chickens and cows, and the folks who looked after us and the property were wonderful. We hope to stay there again!
