About this cottage rental
The entire family can enjoy the 850 feet of lake frontage on Flowers Lake. This quiet lakeside setting offers top notch large mouth bass, catfish, and crappie fishing. The swimming is also great during the hot summer days. Only battery operated trolling motors are allowed on the lake so no need to worry about loud motorized boats and jet skis interrupting your stay. However, if these activities are your fancy then you can visit one of California's premiere water recreation areas at Lake Tulloch which is only a 15 minute drive.
We are only 3 miles to the Copperopolis Town Center and 15 minutes from one of the best golf destinations in central California, Copper Valley Resort. You can also spend the afternoon at the many wineries in Murphys. There are plenty of other activities to enjoy at nearby Moaning Caverns, Yosemite National Park, and Bear Mountain Ski Resort.

A much needed break away from the holiday festivities for my husband and I and the cottage was perfect. 2024 was a difficult time for my husband with losing two family members. I wanted to gift him a peaceful place to just be in his thoughts. Steve was very accommodating and made this experience so helpful.

The cottage was perfect for our family. We have 3 teens and brought our two dogs. Teens slept in the living room on the pullout sofa and in the bunk bed room. We hung out on the patio and listened to music while playing card games. We went down to the water and used the kayaks and paddle boards. We tried fishing, but we didn’t catch anything! It was so quiet and peaceful and the kids had a relaxing time.

The cabin is a cute home that still feels newly built. The little lake is great for top water fishing, dinghy boating & kayaking. If you want a bigger lake for motor boats, jet skis & swimming, Lake Tulloch is a 15 min drive away. The owner is generous & is a proactive communicator. I'd totally stay he here againn and again.

We wanted to get off the grid with our teen boys and booked this house for 4 nights. The property is wonderful, tons of opportunity to be out on the creek, good fishing and beautiful views. Property manager was quick to respond to all of our questions and suggestions and we will definitely book again!

This cottage with the surrounding grounds would be perfect for a quiet get away or some family fun. Lots of on site amenities and close by in the gold country to many attractions.

Exactly what we were looking for. Very relaxing and quiet. Did not use the boat. Because motor had loose clamp. Enjoyed our time very much.

This was our second visit to the property, and we loved it again. The property is everything we are looking for when we want to get away from our busy lifestyle! The property has everything you need to cook, swim, and grill! It’s perfect, thanks again Steve!

I brought my teenagers boys and 3 of their friends and they had a blast. The paddle boat needs repair, water gets in. The lake view from the cottage is beautiful. The steps to the water would be easier to handle if they had rails. I did not need to use the kitchen but have to say it is pretty well equipped. The only thing I would recommend is to change the bathroom rug, it smells like mildew. We will definitely return.

The setting is idyllic - the pics are right on target, it really is beautiful; we are grateful for this getaway for our family. The owner and rental process are friendly and easy. It is a simple home environment - we had to buy toilet paper and there were no washcloths; towels are small but there are lots of blankets and we were super happy with the foldout sofas which are great for kids - adults who have sore backs, maybe not; because I cook I would need to bring some things the kitchen doesn't have (mixing size bowl, pyrex or trays for roasting, pitcher for drinks, some food prep utensils, stuff like that) but my husband and I and the kids like to take it easy when we are there and there are good places to eat out. The paddleboat needs repair (rudder doesn't work), and the boat has some marks of use (cracked bench = sharp metal) but we are there to experience simple pleasures (fish, swim, lay out) and the rejuvenation of the fresh air, quiet environment and beautiful nature all around. We would all grieve if this place weren't available - it truly is a very important retreat place for our family, has been for years, and the kids always say it's their favorite vacation that we take. I pray they never sell and if they do, they sell to us!

There is so much to love about this place! I only wish we had stayed longer. I was thrilled to find everything we needed in the cottage. I wasn't too sure what I would need once we were there so I overpacked (my fault especially since Steve was so responsive that in hindsight I could have just asked him more about what was already there!) . Turns out all you need is clothes, food and fishing gear! I can't wait to stay here again!

What a great place. I almost didn't write this review so the word wouldn't get out. Really comfortable inside and even better outside. Fish everywhere, jumping all day. I caught and released more fish than I could count and short hike to the lake is well worth the effort. I only hope that everyone who enjoys this wonderful lake practices catch and release so it can be enjoyed for years to come. Thanks for sharing your awesome cottage Steve!

We had the most relaxing time there. We stayed a total of 4 days. The cottage had all the amenities we needed. We played board games did two puzzles and of course fished, fished, fished. My husband had a fishing tournament with my kids My son 7 caught and released 21, 16 for my husband and 13 for my 4 year old daughter. Fish were jumping the whole time. (best lure is the black and blue no flake sinko) The row boat with trolling motor was great and also we enjoyed the paddle boat too. The nature was amazing while we were there. We found a nesting ground for Turkey vultures, we saw wild turkies with their babies, tree frogs, and super cool June bugs would join us on the porch at night.
It was perfect for a family on a budget that really wants to just spend quality time together. I would recommend this property to family and friends. Thank you so much.

My girlfriend and I came here with a few friends for a birthday trip and had an excellent time. The house is small but sleeps 8 comfortably, with plenty of room on the property to pitch tents if you so desire. You could also hang a hammock and sleep out on the patio, which we did! I had none of the issues listed in the previous reviews, so they seem to have all been fixed. There were also several amenities not listed (or that I didn't notice) in the ad - not only was there an awesome, newish propane grill, but two of the kettle style charcoal grills, two picnic tables, a wood burning fireplace indoors, and an outdoor fire pit (though you can't use it in the dry season per state law). The lake was gorgeous, warm, full of fish (my friend caught 2 without really trying, and some guys who were fishing nearby caught 5 big bass in the space of about half an hour), and really fun for boating in the provided fishing boat. The roads going in and out were well paved, and the property, while tucked away and private, is far from isolated - we went to caverns, shops, and tourist attractions without driving more than 15 minutes in any direction. The only words of caution I would offer are that the path leading down to the lake is pretty steep, so if you are mobility challenged in any way, it might be tough or even impossible for you to navigate. Also, like most rural, grassy areas in California, there are plenty of ticks lurking in the brush, so be sure to stay on the beaten paths and put some tick preventative on your dogs! Otherwise, this place is perfect - beautiful, quiet, comfortable, relaxing, a fisherman's paradise, and great for any age, whether you are a family with little kids or adults looking for a relaxing or romantic getaway. Thanks, Steve!

Originally it was supposed to be my husband and I but the rest of the family wanted to come along after hearing about our planned weekend to stay at Flowers Lake Cottage in Copperopolis. Steve was very easy to deal with and I had no problems communicating back and forth with him. In the end it was a total of 4 adults, 1 teenager, and our little weiner dog and the cottage was more than plenty of room to accommodate all of us. It is a cute little cottage on a huge plot of land so you get much privacy from both the main road and other surrounding residences. The place is fully stocked and really charming to say the least. It backs up to the lake where there is both a kayak and paddleboat for you to use. There is an abundance of fish in the lake (we caught blue gill, catfish, and 1 bass) so if you're an avid fisherman this is the place for you. For the couple of days we were there all we did was fish, hung out around the bbq area since there's a patio set outside, and just watched home movies as a family in the living room. I haven't felt so relaxed in such a long time the hubby and I are already talking about our next trip up here. Would definitely recommed this place if you need a vacation to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

This would have been a 5-star rating except...floor was not real clean when we checked in...house was loaded with flies. There were no extra garbage bags. The charcoal grill was missing the bottom grill (used stones to hold the charcoal). The gas grill was rusty and one of the sections had rusted thru.
Now for the GOOD NEWS! This is a real nice property and home. The hill back up from the lake can be a challenge to folks in their 70's...like my wife and I....but it was navigable with a couple of "wind-breaks". The dock and boat are in excellent shape...and the lake is abounding in bass. I landed several good ones....wound up catching about 2 dozen on the 3 mornings I fished. ( I returned all of them to the lake). Hint: Most of the bass i caught were on a Rapala-floater). The house must be well-insulated as we only turned the AC on once, and then only for a couple of hours! Also, there were very few mosquitoes....must be because of the local bats....they really work the air around the house! Plus the fish eat the larvae in the lake.
With a little TLC, this would easily be a 5-star place to stay. I would definitely like to return. My wife & I really needed some quiet R & R...and we found it here. One other note....if you want a really good Italian dinner....try Panini's Italian Grill in the new Town Center (just 2 miles east). Their Minnestrone Soup is among the best. I had the canneloni and my wife had penne pasta w/meat sauce....both were great...as was the wine and dessert.
Thanks for allowing us to stay .... we really enjoyed it!
