Cozy, family owned cottage!! Our cottage is in a very family friendly location.
This cottage is nestled on a private drive on Lake Mitchell. It has been recently renovated and expanded. All craftsmanship was done by hand and meticulously constructed to accommodate family getaways (beds for up to eight guests.
Lake Mitchell is a large lake with a firm sandy bottom and is shallow near shoreline for the little ones to play safely. It also connects to Lake Cadillac via a canal. Pontoon and fishing boats work best for Lake Mitchell.
Lake Mitchell is a lake for all the Michigan seasons. Enjoy the spring and summer with swimming, fishing, kayaking, jet skiing, boating and campfires. There is a large deck lakeside with over 260 square feet of additional outdoor living space. Absolutely gorgeous location for Fall color tours! It's also the perfect time to relax by the outdoor fire, watch the stars and take in the beauty of the lake. In the winter have a blast Skiing and snowmobiling. or just relax by with indoor gas fireplace or playing games.
Public access is available nearby to launch your own water craft and you can tie off on our private dock. Don't have your own pontoon or fishing boat, rent one from a local business.
Close to golfing, biking and running trails, ski resorts and groomed Snowmobile Trails.
Just minutes from Manistee National Forest

It was a wonderful experience and the owners are extremely kind and helpful— they even gave us a bottle of wine as a welcome gift!! Also the most comfortable bed we’ve ever had in any accommodation.

Your house was great for us! We enjoyed the back porch and especially the view of the lake. The mornings were a little chilly to be outside so the comfy chair by the window was perfect for my quiet time with the Lord. Thank you so much!

The place is amazing. It is right on the lake. Very quiet. Majority of the time, the lake was completely empty even though it was middle of August with beautiful weather. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. Very clean place. Well stocked. Had everything we need to live comfortably for a week. If you are not used to the well water, it can be hard to adjust to it. Our kids didnt like the water from the faucets. The lake is very shallow and warm, good for young kids. The older kids wanted it little deeper to go swimming. If you go out further to the deeper area (chest deep) there is a lot of seaweeds which my kids didnt like. There is a nice beach area by the state park that is great for swimming and making sandcastles. Overall a great place.
