About this apartment rental

Jade's Tower, with its sweeping ocean views, sits one block north of the Mendocino Headlands State Park. Two guests can enjoy the lovely garden that surrounds the tower.

Downstairs there is a queen sleeper sofa with a flowering garden and pond just beyond the triangular glass paned windows. The spiral staircase leads to a airy room with a queen bed. In winter you may see the grey whales as they migrate down the coast of California, and in the Spring the headlands are covered with wildflowers. The galley kitchen, where simple meals can easily be prepared, opens onto a garden patio where you can enjoy your meal, or there is a cozy dining area in the main living space.

If your prefer to eat out, all restaurants in the Village are a short walk from the tower. Art galleries, the Mendocino Art Center, Music and Film Festivals, Farmer's Market, Crown Hall, Sweetwater Eco Spa, Headland trails, and Portuguese and Big River beaches are also within easy walking distance.

This is the best place in Mendo, and that's saying a lot! Third time was a charm--just like one and two. So tranquil, so well situated. So beautiful.

The property is beautiful with a gorgeous garden, huge windows and many interesting architectural touches. The kitchen way well equipped. My only caveat was that the timer on the microwave was a bit flaky--hard to use with reduced power. The bedroom is upstairs, while the bathroom is downstairs. That means that bathroom trips at night need to be navigated in the dark down a tight spiral staircase. A minor inconvenience.

The water tower is like living in an enchanted fairy tale! Sparkling clean, comfortable, great views out of every huge window. Best quality kitchen supplies. Walking distance to everything. The garden is lush, green and blooming with a huge variety of gorgeous flowers, and mature small apple trees. Winnie and Andy are super nice hosts! I wished Iʻd had more than a 2-night stay. I will definitely be recommending this to my friends.

Very well designed house in a beautiful garden. Very quiet location within easy walking distance to everything. Both the bed and the sofa bed were very comfortable, and lovely views from both. Winnie, the manager next door, was very responsive and helpful.

It was beautiful! I was very happy with the garden and tower. It can get a little hot during the day, but it cools down quickly when you open a few windows. Definitely worth the money, but maybe think twice if you have bad knees or something because the staircase can be tricky!

Just a beautiful place to stay. The Tower reflected an artist's eye, with every detail carefully considered. And the garden--really hard to describe the feeling of sitting there with the birds and bees buzzing about and the gentle breeze washing over you. It is even better than the pictures show!

Had a beautiful holiday weekend in Mendocino in Jade’s Tower. Just what we needed. The garden was stunning this summer and this sweet space is in the heart of everything. This weekend we planned our elopement & will be back in 2026. Each time we stay we discover something new, the holiday parade reinforced my faith in humanity. Pizza in the garden at the brickery & Luna’s cioppino both ridiculously good!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in Mendocino! Staying at Jade’s Tower made it even more special. The grounds are so beautiful. Every time we walked around the garden we saw beauty everywhere. The house is so unique and immediately had a familiar feeling of being “home”. Staying here greatly enhanced our celebration and we look forward to staying here again.

Jade’s Tower provides a marvelous spot to relax surrounded by well-tended ornamental gardens. You can walk along the headlands or walk to restaurants and shops. Gorgeous views of the ocean and the stars from the bedroom. A terrific find!

Our third visit to Jade's Tower was as wonderful as ever. Perfect accommodations for two as long as you're able to handle a spiral staircase. The views of the bay from the front window and views of the coastal headlands and ocean from the upstairs bedroom are sublime. The surrounding garden of plants and flowers is glorious and so calming. Although small, Jade's Tower is packed with amenities to make your stay comfortable. The location is easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Mendocino as well as the aforementioned headlands. Communications with owner Virginia are a breeze and the hosts, Winnie and Andy, are there if you need them but invisible if you don't! And Jade's Tower is located in the most welcoming village of Mendocino where everyone can feel at home no matter who you are or who you love. We can't recommend this delightful vacation rental enough.

The Spring flowers must have know we garden lovers were coming , as they could not have been more spectacular! And the expansive view of the ocean beyond, visible from the main floor and 2nd level were stunning to observe in their changing glory from morning till night!Excellent restaurant and a great Irish Pub available to walk to.Privacy was intensity respected while interactions with the caretakers, a lovely couple who lovingly cared for those incredible gardens, an enormous responsibility, were pleasant and helpful. Cannot say enough good things about Jades Tower - one of the top most pleasant trips to us who came every year, often to Heritage House. and others during the 20 years we lived in the Bay Area. PS- don’t be put off by the winding staircase! Even I, a physician with an extensive back surgery and broken hip a year ago, was able to slowly, carefully, and holding on to the railing with both hands, navigate safely and with more ease each of the 5 days of our visit!

The water tower was located in the perfect location in Mendocino. It’s an easy walk to restaurants, supermarket, hiking trails and shopping. And if you want to head to the state parks they are only minutes away by car. The water tower itself was clean and comfortable. The views are spectacular and the surrounding gardens are Lovely.

I have been coming to Mendocino for over 30 years off and on. This is a beautiful, clean, spacious redwood cottage in the shape of a wine country watch tower. The views from both the main level and upstairs bedroom are stunning. Be sure to follow the directions provided by the host, as GPS may mislead you. Accessing from Ukiah Street, it is a short, level walk to Lansing Street, where many of the best stores and eateries are located.The amenities are very comfortable and well maintained. The spiral stairs to the bedroom lead to 180 degree views but might be a problem for guests with mobility concerns. One of my all time favorite stays on the Mendocino Coast.

This unique tower property has exquisite views, especially from the upstairs bedroom. It is a short walk to scenic walks, restaurants, and shops. It is truly a magical guesthouse, with glorious gardens, and Virginia is a wonderful host. We were reluctant to check out and to return to the real world.

The tower is in a great location really close to all the restaurants and the coast for easy access. The grounds are beautiful with a nice little pond and seating in different areas around the property to maximize comfort. The unit itself was really nice. I would guess the only negative part for us was the spiral staircase going up to a comfortable queen bed And having no sink or accessories up top but a fantastic view of the ocean.

Jade’s Tower was a delight. It’s very well situated in the heart of Mendocino - the shops, restaurants and coastal paths are within walking distance of the tower. The tower is lovely, modern, thoughtful and beautifully designed. A spiral staircase connects the two levels, the ocean views are fantastic, and the landscaping on the property is lovely. My only issue was entirely subjective - the mattress is extra firm and was a bit too hard for me, but my husband loved it. Hosts were communicative and the property managers were kind and very helpful. Overall, it was an excellent stay at a wonderful tower in an outrageously beautiful town. Thank you!

Absolutely loved the space. Did not find the remote for the heater by the kitchen but the wall heaters and throw blanket were perfect for downstairs. Great views 360degrees. Easy walking to restaurants and shops. Can't wait to see the flowers in spring.We'll be back!!!
