About this cottage rental

The Larkin Cottage is nestled amongst redwood trees just 3 minutes from the village of Mendocino. It is on the same property as the live-in owner's main residence. The cottage includes all the amenities of home. The kitchen is furnished with ample dishes and pots and pans should you decide not to enjoy the many wonderful restaurants in the area. A gas BBQ is located on the deck. The living room is equipped with a flat screen TV, DISH high definition service, WiFi, blue tooth dock for music on your phone or tablet, DVD player, and a DVD library of movies filmed in the area. The bedroom features a queen size Sleep Number bed outfitted in luxurious linens including a down comforter and plenty of fluffy pillows. Waiting for you outside are porch rockers, a private hot tub, and lush gardens.

The Larkin Cottage property is abundant with beautiful flowers. Care has been taken to make sure that something is blooming every month of the year. The gazebo is a perfect spot for a small wedding.

PLEASE NOTE: Cal Trans has removed the trees on the west side of the property due to bridge construction. This construction can create noise during the day. The estimated completion date is Fall of 2025.

I was able to attend our family vacation because of this beautiful, tidy, and well-appointed cottage (with kitchen). I especially loved its quiet birding-garden spaces and easy layout where I could take good care of myself, yet be close to the family. Communication was excellent. Very nice. Cozy. We liked having hot tub and fireplace. Bed was comfortable. We were at cottage during some rainy weather. One suggestion would be to put two hooks to right of kitchen door to hang up raincoats. Also, appreciated the gas grill and beautiful flowers

The property was beautiful. Flowers all around the property were blooming. Hot tub was clean and warm. TV access worked great and it just happened to be the same channels we use at home. Location very close to town, everything in cottage was above expecations, the grounds were beautiful, the hot tub is right off the deck close to door and works great, the fireplace is awesome, the bed is quality, the place is super clean, lots of tv stations, strong wifi signal, all the dishes and kitchen stuff you need. We reserved the cozy Larkin Cottage for our honeymoon and were greeted with a gift basket that made us feel welcome. This sweet home had everything we needed, and wanted, to make our time there comfortable and relaxed--including plenty of room to organize our stuff so that we weren't just living out of our luggage. We chose to cook some meals in the very complete and thoughtfully appointed kitchen, as well as explore the local restaurants that host Linda recommended. Linda's thoughtful communication with us in advance made us feel that when we arrived at the Larkin Cottage, we truly were at home. We will be back!
