Love the property. It was breathtaking but the hill back and forth from the dock was rough.

We spent July 2-4th here and it's a beautiful cabin! Overlooks the lake and has a fantastic balcony to just relax! It was about 25 minute drive to Sevierville when we went looking for activities to do which was perfect, was tucked away from all the traffic! Will definitely stay again this summer!

The inside of the property was nice. However, TV is too small and fireplace isn’t vented so when you turn it on the place smells like gas. To say it has a dock is a joke. It will be the hardest thing you’ve ever done in life walking to it. Needs to set better expectations. Check in process was bad… owner didn’t know I was scheduled to arrive, she was kind of rude and her dog barked non stop when it was outside. Very limited parking and no room for a boat.. Assuming she lives next door.

The cabin is well appointed and great for two people. The drive is 20 minutes from most attractions in Pigeon Forge or Sevierville. In the mountains, you can't go by mileage. Also, while the unit is all one floor, it is on the second level and requires a climb of 15 steps. Difficult for anyone with bad hips or knees. Overall worked for us but would choose a different unit for a future stay.

We enjoyed this property and there is a great view from the deck. However, you must walk a flight of stairs with your luggage to the unit. I don’t recall seeing this fact noted in the advertisement. Additionally, the kayaks are available as stated, but the hill is very steep to the dock to get to them or the lake.

Lovely property for that mountain cabin feel. We enjoyed our stay there very much.

Our stay was very relaxing, we enjoyed the view of the mountains and the lake.
The cabin was clean.
A few things we did not enjoy: the bed, it was too small for us both to sleep comfortably, pillows were worn out - I was up in the middle of the night with some discomfort in my neck and back. Please get some new pillows. And lastly, the T.V. was minute! But, overall, it was very relaxing.

Great property, only thing is water access is down a very steep and kind of long driveway. If you have restrictions it may be worth contacting owner see if you will be able to go. Other than that amazing stay.

We loved our stay at this property! Absolutely beautiful views of the lake AND mountains! Small cabin, but has everything you’d need. Well kept and stocked with everything you can expect. The kitchen had better utensils for cooking than many places we’ve stayed at before.
Kayaks available for renters are great! We kayaked many times and absolutely loved it. The walk back up the hill was a doozy! But absolutely worth it! Calm and peaceful lake. Save for kayaking all over. Will recommend to other and come back in the future!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was nice to be in the country but in 10 mins you can be to the main stretch of roadway. This cabin is decorated very cute and was super clean!!! I would def stay here again.
The only con I would say is a few small kitchen items needed upgraded starting with the skillets. We made them work though so no worries. We would def stay here again!!!!

Overall great experience staying here. Clean cabin with great decor and overall great vibe on the lake! No issues with anything in the cabin and the drive to pigeon forge was nice and short as expected. Would stay here again.

Had a great time and it’s a wonderful place only negative I can say was neighbor across the street shooting a pistol. But place is beautiful and conveniently located. We got to rest and relax in a great environment. Kayaking a couple days just put the cherry on top. Highly recommend

Loved the rustic cabin feel with all the modern conveniences. Enjoyed coffee on the balcony overlooking the lake and mountains. Located near a number of attractions, was easy to get supplies about 10-15 minutes away. Would love to return if ever in the area.
When traveling to the property, think winding country roads.

Beautiful open concept cabin, well furnished, with all necessities to make your stay comfortable. Great view of Douglas Lake from the balcony. Close to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, National Park and Cherokee.

My thoughts...
Nice, clean, quiet, and comfortable property but access can be a challenge due to narrow road and blind spots. Two lights on the porch entrance were not working

Beautiful/not for old people
The loft was clean, beautiful, and plenty comfortable for a couple.
The view was great, lake was beautiful. My only complaint is the access to the boat dock is dangerously steep, and I would not use it, or ride down it on a UTV. The parking is almost non-existent. I took my bass boat, but there is no room to turn or maneuver a truck pulling a boat. This property is great for a physically healthy couple, who has a truck or SUV to haul a kayak or canoe, but nothing bigger. Leave your own boat at home, and rent one. From a local marina. Barring that, the loft, view, and lake are wonderful.

Nice Getaway
Very nice place to stay for 2 people. Troy was very kind and attentive with any assistance needed. As others have stated, the cabin is on the top of the hill and the top half of a garage but that was not an issue. It actually puts you in position to get a good look at the lake and the mountains, beautiful views. Since it is on top of the hill, the boat dock is down hill. The walk down is not to bad, just don't trip and fall cause you will roll for a long time and end up on big rocks and or in the water. Going up is a big challenge. Had to stop half way up to catch my breath and prevent a heart attack. However, if Troy is home he will gladly take you down and or bring you back up in a 4 wheeler, which he did once going up. I managed the other times cause I didn't want to bother him. Anyway, my wife and I really enjoyed the chance to get away and stay at the cabin. I caught a nice bass on my second cast off the dock. The rest of the time was hit or miss. As far as venturing out, we recommend going to Knife Works, the Old Mill Restaurant and Dandridge. Dandridge is the 2nd oldest town in Ten. with a lot of history about the Civil War and Martha Washington. Thanks for a good time at your cabin, very nice.

Great view.
Great view from the balcony. Loved the fire pit and the use of the kayaks. Very quiet, not crowded, and peaceful. Hosts helpful. Being over a garage was no issue at all. Walk to the lake was very steep but great exercise.

Gorgeous scenery
My husband and I loved the loft/cabin. It was clean, every thing you need to enjoy your stay. The owners live next door but they were barely seen. They let you enjoy the place, but the couple of times they were outside they were super nice.
Now saying all that, there are 15 or so steps leading up to the loft. If we were younger with better/younger knees and shoulders, we would most definitely rent again. We loved it though. We truly relaxed. If you can handle the stairs, I say GO AND RENT THIS PLACE! You will not be disappointed.

Cabin Beautiful - Hill impossible
The Good: The cleanliness, comfort, communication, and overall experience was fantastic. Couldn't ask for much better. The relative location to TOWN is great.
The Bad: If you take a boat and keep it at the dock below the cabin, the traverse from cabin to lake is extremely difficult. My son is mentally slow, overweight and chose to not go boating after the 2nd trip up the hill. We were here 4 days and he went boating the first day and quit after that because of this hill. I couldn't make it without stopping halfway to catch my breath. When I say it's beyond brutal; trust me, it's brutal.
The only other complaint is the view....90% of what you see from this cabin is the owners cabin between you and the lake.
Great cabin, just not the best of settings. I will return but will find something closer and lower to the water.

Good value for the location
Was not sure I was at the right place, but it worked out. Lost power the next morning but the owner was right on it. Offered to go and get me coffee. This was good stay for what I needed to accomplish in the area.

Relaxing
It was the perfect place for my spouse and I? The views were incredible and the cleanliness of the cabin is was what we hoped it would be. We rented a pontoon at the nearby Mountain Cove Marina 3 times during our stay. We got to explore the lake and got to meet some of the locals. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Beautiful!!
Amazing property and views! The cabin, which is actually a loft over a garage is very impressive. Super clean and beautifully decorated. Pretty much anything you could need is here, from a grill and a propane fire bowl on the deck, to utensils and cookware. The views are absolutely spectacular, we were very sad to leave. The only single downside is the super steep walk down to (and back up!) the dock. We brought our waverunner with us and docked it at the beautiful, covered dock. It was super convenient, but found the walk down there to use it to be just enough of a disincentive to not use it as often as we might have otherwise. Kent and Barb did tell us to let them know whenever we wanted to go down or back up and they would give us a ride on their powered utility vehicle, but we honestly felt that it would be too much of an imposition, so did not take them up on the offer......so that's on us! That aside, we had nothing but a positive experience and would not hesitate to stay here again!

Delightfully Peaceful
Clean, cozy, and welcoming. Came to the area for the tourist attractions but very happy we chose this peaceful getaway to come "home" to each night.

a deceiving rental based on pics.
i thought i rented a stand alone cabin, not a loft above property owner garage. it was a beautiful loft, nicely decorated. not a good rental for claustrophobics or any minimally handicapped persons. unable to enjoy deck view due to rainy weather, so it wasn't worth the cost per night. didnt see any disclosure of owner on property prior to finalizing rental and not being able to get refund.

Quiet and comfy
Can’t say enough about this place. It decorated perfectly, clean, comfortable and inviting. We have hospitality experience and are very, very, very picky about cleanliness. We are also seasoned travelers but are out of practice and didn’t prepare for all coffee contingency’s. That was no problem though. The owners got us some filters and coffee to get us through our firsts morning. Only thing I saw missing was grilling tools. Very well stocked. Thank you! We will be back.

Great place for a couple's getaway
My wife and I found Kent's property amazingly perfect for the two of us. While the property is on top of a garage, you'd never know it because you won't hear a thing and once inside it's beautiful. The entire layout of it was very homely and well thought out with design/decoration. While the incline down to the dock is steep initially, my wife and I made it without issue. However, we are in are early 30s and the incline would be much more difficult for older couples. Most importantly was Kent's hospitality and willingness to be of any help if necessary. He took us down to the dock on his gator and told us to call when we wanted to be picked up. Having an owner that lives on site is much more of a plus than it is a negative. We had a great view of the lake and while Kent's house is right next door, it had zero negative impact on our view, comfort, and overall stay. We will likely contact Kent somewhere down the line to rebook with him because, frankly, I can't imagine staying at a better kept and maintained place while having access to a large dock for boating/kayaking/swimming. As a last point, the location is unbeatable. You're on the far west side of the lake which puts your right by Pigeon Forge (10 minutes) and in turn Gatlinberg (25 minutes). We didn't plan on going to either of these but once we realized exactly how close we were, it was a no brainer. The only mistake we made was not renting a boat.
