We were in the basement of the home. It was exceptionally hot and uncomfortable. They were friendly and kind. There was a heat wave that week. The path to the dwelling was difficult for my husband.

Kelsey and Quentin put a lot of love and care into their space and it shows. The space is very cozy and cute, we had everything we needed for a long weekend stay. The local recommendations were great! Unfortunately it was rainy and a little chilly so we didn’t get to enjoy the private deck space as much as we would have liked to but the views from the windows were just gorgeous. We’d love to come back and would highly recommend Owl Creek Retreat to anyone else!

Very rustic and enjoyed the views from all rooms. The only problem was the street parking on a steep hill and the path to the back was very uneven. The stones were not at all level. No problem for most people, but I am a senior with trouble walking on uneven steps. This is completely my mistake because I didn’t ask about this beforehand. We had complete privacy. When inside, the walk was worth it.

Quiet, clean, and safe neighborhood. It happened to be in the same neighborhood where our family lives. Owners went over and beyond to make sure whoever stays here has everything they need. They were easy to communicate with in coordinating our arrival and departure. It was definitely a home away from home feeling. We will book again on our next visit!

I have been a host of multiple vacation properties for 25 years and I can not speak highly enough about this charming studio and great hosts. Communication before our arrival was timely and helpful. The check in process was clear, even with our arrival in the middle of the night. Kelsey and Quentin have clearly put a lot of effort into the charming ascetics of their place with lots of books and decorations. The towels, linens and kitchenware was all very comfortable and ample. Most magical however was the feeling from the master bedroom of being right in the trees, as if you were in a treehouse with large windows on two side. From there you could watch the sunset and the studio would fill with stunning golden light. Really lovely and look forward to staying here again!

This VRBO was tucked into a very quiet residential neighborhood but nearby to any shopping you will need. We were visiting family nearby and this place was a great place to come and go. It is a fully appointed basement apartment with a separate entrance. Everything was clean and a modest kitchen was more than adequate.

Overall, we liked this place a lot. The view out of the windows is glorious. It was very hot the day we arrived and there is no A/C available in this basement apartment. The first evening we did not sleep great and were sweating! I also did not realize it was a basement apartment, which is my fault. The neighborhood was very safe and nice. The bed was very comfortable. Just wish I would have known about the A/C situation.

This is the perfect location. Easy to get to many different areas. Beautiful words out back when you’re sitting outside you feel like you could be in the middle of nowhere however, only minutes from restaurants and parks. Owners are very easy to work with . We had a nice comfortable restful stay at this 1-BR retreat. We’d defiantly stay here again. The location is convenient and in a great neighborhood with great park/walking trails. The kitchen is large enough that you can stovetop cook on a 2-burner hot plate or use a microwave. However, we discovered Gigi’s Cafe and went there everyday and only made coffee. Gigi’s is about 7 minutes via car with a great market in the shopping center.

My husband and I travel to Portland 4-5 times a year to visit family. We stay in SW area Portland, which is close to family and such a good location. Normally we stay at the Embassy Suites, but we wanted a more unique experience. I found this place and was not sure where it was located exactly and we gave it a try. OH MY!!! What a little piece of heaven! The location of this place was off the main road, tucked away in its own private little setting. The sitting area (where you walk into through large sliding doors) has a view out into a wooded area...you see nothing but trees! The bedroom and kitchen windows also face this wooded area, and you can hear the sound of the creek that runs through the area. Drinking morning coffee in the front room was so peaceful. The bedroom has plenty of storage space, a comfy bed, the bathroom was great too with a large counter top that held all our toiletries easily, well equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen has a drip coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave , refrigerator and two stove top burners. We didn't do much cooking but we did make our breakfast ever morning. We didn't want to leave..it was all so peaceful. Quentin, our host, kept in touch with us to be sure we had everything we needed. The neighborhood is charming, safe and clean. Close (5-10 minutes) to Trader Joes, Fred Myers, Washington Square, Target, and lots of restaurants, eateries near by. If this place is available when we return to Portland we will stay here! 5 stars plus.

All in all we liked the property. We weren't there much as we were moving our daughters into their apartment and helping them get set up. We would leave in the morning and return in the evenings. The only negative is that there is no lighting along the path to get into the apartment. When arriving back to the apartment at night we would have to. use our. cell phone flashlights to see where we were going. We left very early on Sunday morning and it was dark and raining as we were loading up our car. The path was dark and slippery, not a good combination. The property itself was nice and clean. I just wish it was better lit!

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Owlcreek Retreat and loved it. The neighborhood is peaceful and nice. The house is very clean, comfortable, great internet (had to teach a live online class while on a weekend away), and has a perfect little deck. The house had everything we needed including the basics like coffee, a small refrigerator, lotion and toiletries, and a small cook top/hot plate. We easily made dinner one night while there and enjoyed it on the deck. The hosts were great! Not intrusive and but available if needed. I would recommend!

We loved our stay at Ashcreek. The property and view are far more spectacular than the pictures. You are ten minutes from the center of the city yet feel like you are in a wooded oasis. We woke up to birds chirping, had squirrels visit us while sipping coffee on the back deck and were very comfortable. The home is well stocked and tastefully decorated with lots of attention to small details. Very clean and comfortable. The hosts are very friendly and communicative. If we lived closer we would return in a heatbeat!

We loved our month-long stay. The hosts are very attentive and the place is like being in a secluded treehouse in the city. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and intend to buy a similar mattress! The fold out couch was helpful as we were visiting family and got to have some overnights with our little grandchildren. The back deck is wonderful and when we come in the spring, we hope to be out there all the time! Excellent stay! Great location.

We had a great stay. Place is clean and well kept up. The owners live upstairs and are very attentive to your needs and that you are comfortable. We stayed during some of their hottest days and the place was always cool and pleasant to enter after a day out exploring the energy of the city or the outdoor wilderness.
