You are just a few minutes walk from miles of sandy beach, beginning at Haena Point, the prime location for shell seeking affectionados at sunrise. As you make your way down the shoreline of Tunnels (Makua Beach) to Haena Beach Park, be sure to visit the wet and dry caves, Limahuli Tropical Gardens and Ke'e Beach. For those who want to experience the majestic Napali coast, you will need to make prior reservations.

The Tiki Hut is the perfect secluded slice of paradise for anyone looking for a quiet tropical beach getaway. Toni’s property and gardens are pristinely manicured for you to sink into island time and enjoy your stay on the beautiful island of Kauai. My wife and I truly enjoyed our extended stay at the property. It has all of the amenities someone would need, easy 5 min walk to tunnels beach for the best snorkeling on the island, and the best greeter/guard dog out there. We cannot wait to come back and visit!

We loved our stay. The garden surroundings were out of this world! I could go on and on about this topic alone… Toni and Samson made us feel so welcome. The tiki hut was spotless, and appointed with touches that made it feel like we were in a home rather than a rental. The location is perfect for a beach holiday, just 5-10 mins walk down a path to one of the best beaches on Kauai.

Overall, I rate everything a 10. Toni was absolutely the best host I have encountered at a VRBO. She wanted to make sure your stay was comfortable and that you had everything you needed for a perfect getaway. The location is safe, secure, beautiful, quiet and felt like you were living in a manicured jungle.

Two weary travelers arrived at the Tiki hut to be greeted by a basket of local goodies and a chilled bottle of wine in the refrigerator. We knew we were in the right place. We loved our stay at the tiki hut, with morning breakfasts on the back porch, enjoying a visit from Samson, a friendly black lab and the official greeter. Evenings were spent relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of wine after a day of touring Kauai. Toni has created a beautiful, relaxing oasis with comfortable bedding and everything you need for a day at the beach, in a spectacular setting. A quick walk takes you to tunnels Beach with spectacular views, and great snorkeling. We will be back.

The Tiki Hut is in an amazing location just a short walk away from (in our opinion) one of the best beaches in kauai. Though it is a drive to get to stores and restaurants, the privacy and seclusion you get it worth it. Toni was a wonderful host and made us feel most welcome as did Sampson her amazing dog. The garden surrounding the tiki hut is truly amazing and provided us hours of lizard and bird watching from the two porches.

My wife and I have stayed at Poipu many times and figured this trip we would go to the North Shore. The Tiki Hut called to us on VRBO and we are so glad we stayed there. It is magical with the gardens and outdoor shower. We never used the indoor shower! Tunnels beach is a short walk away and is now hands down my favorite. I really don't want to write this glowing review because we plan to stay here again next year and now I'm making that more difficult to do! Samson was an awesome neighbor coming over to visit on our lanais once in a while and CB's daughter Heather was a great substitute hostess while Toni and CB vacationed. The Tommy Bahama chairs and umbrella were carried to the beach each day with the snorkel gear that was all provided. Beach towels and mats were great. Bar Acuda reservations were key also. You need to make them 30 days out. The sunset Makai golf cart tour was super fun too. Can't wait to go back to the Tiki Hut. Thanks again Heather! -Rob & Lindsey

This was the most wonderful cottage we have stayed in our many visits to the garden isle. The place is even better than the pics and description. An extremely relaxing place on the very quiet north shore that is the home of one lane bridges with signs that implore you to "try slow". The gardens are a botanical adventure with a lovely artistic touch. Perfect for your morning coffee and more. The hot tub spa is luxurious and invigorating. The sounds of the natural world are peaceful and soothing. Tunnels beach is a 5 minute walk and is like swimming in an aquarium teeming with tropical fish. The accomodations are quite comfortable with two lanais to give you different views. And for my wife and I, the best of all was the greeter dog Samson, the black lab who became our friend. The Tiki Hut was the Best place ever!!! We stayed 8 nights here and from the moment we arrived we knew we would enjoy it. Many thoughtful touches including a welcome basket full of local goodies, homemade banana bread made by the owner and coffee. 2 separate lanais, a fun hammock chair, and a full sized hammock in the garden hung between two palms, laundry basket and shared laundry room, lots of convenient appliances and items; beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach wagon, snorkel gear and big beach towels and sand free beach blankets. Did I mention our own private jacuzzi tub? Star gazing here is nothing short of phenomenal. Short 5 minute walk down the private road to Tunnels beach access! Our first day there we spotted 6 turtles grazing. Beach combing here is awesome. Great north shore location had us just a short drive to so many fun things to do and Hanalei is like 10 minutes drive away. The gardens on the property were stunning! Just beautiful with so many great plantings, orchids, palms, stag horn ferns, flowers… had awesome lighting at night as well and the bullfrog in the pond that serenaded us each evening. The owner Toni was the epitome of a gracious host, and made our stay even more enjoyable. She even had paints and brushes and coconuts, so i got to paint one to leave as others had also done. The owners dog Sampson was the best! we would definitely highly recommend a stay here. This is a stay that we will never ever forget!! So many wonderful memories. Mahalo Toni.

There are no words to describe our week in the Tiki Hut. Paradise, the perfect location. A short walk to a beautiful spot on the point to watch sunsets. Walk a bit further and you’re right on Tunnel’s looking up at Mount Makana. Toni was most welcoming and we made fast friends with Samson. The garden is immaculate, so thoughtfully planned out and well taken care of. A true labor of love. Thanks so much for our week in paradise.

We spent two weeks at the Tiki Hut and could have stayed permanently. The bed slept heavenly and the sheets and pillows were high quality like my Boll & Branch at home. (Having several pillow choices was helpful to us). The kitchen had everything one would need, in addition to an excellent outside gas grill. Both lanais provided beautiful views of the exquisite gardens created by the owners. Lots of love went into these gardens. They are a living legacy in, and of, themselves. Every area of the vast gardens provided a little surprise addition that made it all magical. We took lots of strolls at different times of the day -just mesmerized by it’s beauty. The hot tub was wonderful and the temp could be regulated cooler if needed. Toni treated us with some sweet welcome gifts, but none better than her banana bread! Trust me, we bought several from various markets and hers is THE BEST. Everything was spotlessly cleaned and well maintained. A short walk to Tunnels Beach provided glorious sunrises and the same beach offered amazing sunsets that evening. The location on the North Shore is perfect. Sampson was a sweet, gentle visitor who greeted us daily. Toni is available should you need her, but is not intrusive, nor will you hear her in her home. It’s separated by a large garage and laundry facility. This place is so lovely and welcoming, be careful. You may not want to go anywhere once you arrive. My partner and I spent a week at the Tiki Hut and it made our trip to Kauai extra special and perfect. The cottage itself is very comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The surrounding garden is so very special, Toni put about 25 years of work into it and it really does show. Meals out on the lanais, hanging in the hammock, and dips in the hot tub looking at the stars made this a memorable visit. The property is extremely serene and private, which made our vacation feel like a retreat! The location itself is perfect for those wanting to enjoy the North Shore, it's only a short walk to Haena Point and Tunnels Beach via a small private road. No need to drive to the beach! About 15-20 minutes to Hanalei, the location is perfect for heading into town as needed but having peace and quiet at your home for the week. Toni and her black lab Samson are both extremely nice and Toni is extra helpful and accommodating. They're on the other side of the property separated by a breezeway and garage, so there is lots of privacy. We found ourselves wanting to spend the majority of our time at the Tiki Hut itself, it really is a special spot on the island. Can't wait to visit again :)

We stayed a week in the Tiki Hut and could’ve stayed forever. It’s a beautiful property I could go on and on about. Just know, its even better than the photos. The house was perfect size for my husband and I. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The two lanai’s are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the yard. The hot tub was great after hiking on the Kalalau. We saw Toni a few times during our stay but that was not a big deal to us. She was very kind and helpful when we needed her. We loved our visits from Sampson her lab/retriever mix. He’s a very good dog. It’s a short walk down the private road to the beach then you just walk to the left a bit to get to Tunnels and Haena beach. We love it on the north end of the island so this place is perfect for us. And the Cook Island pine trees that run the whole north side of the property feel like a big hug. We can’t wait to return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lush gardens where the tiki hut is located. Tony was a outstanding host with a wealth of information to ensure that we had a perfect stay. The tiki hut was immaculately clean with fresh cut flowers from the garden. Well supplied for all your Beach needs and many basic necessities in the kitchen we're already there. The walk to the beach was an easy one and it opens up to the North end of tunnels Beach with some amazing views and some fantastic swimming. Thanks again Tony for our amazing time in the Tiki Hut

The Tiki Hut is a WONDERFUL place to enjoy the north end of Kauai. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for. The cottage is perfect and the grounds are stunning. The host thought of every detail- making our trip carefree and full of "sweet touches and extras". My only regret is that we did not stay longer and only 5 stars are available! Huge benefit to guest- short walk to Tunnels beach- no hassel with crazy parking. Snorkeling and other beach gear available thanks to host- don't have to pack it. The beach is an AMAZING place to see fish, sunsets and to stargaze. In order to explore in Haena State Park- we took the shuttle and paid the $35 per person. It was WELL worth it. The views were incredible and worth the extra drive/money. Location is a short drive to restaurants, market and shops- so plan accordingly. Foodland in Princeville was a great stop on the way up. Also recommend Taste of Asia & Super Hero Sushi and Thai- food trucks. Cafe Tumeric and JoJo's shaved ice in Waipa. Local market Tues 2-5 great place to buy fresh tropical fruits for light breakfast, snacks for day trips and support the locals.

This was the best VRBO ever!! Toni is amazing.., so sweet and welcoming. She makes you feel comfortable and right at home. The Tiki Hut is adorable and comfortable. She left welcome gifts and made sure we had everything we needed. The island and beach is just breath taking and there is so much to do if you want..and Toni made suggestions as to what we might want to try another time. I would recommend this to any couple who wants the perfect get away in the most wonderful spot in Hawaii!!

We loved the location of this beautiful cottage, high up on the North Shore. We wanted a place where we could walk to Tunnels beach, and have privacy. This cottage delivered in spades! The gardens are beautiful, and our host Toni was amazing. We loved the private hot tub, the hammock, the two lanais, and the large yard. We loved having the goldador Samson visit us on the lanai, and it helped ease our homesickness for our three sweet pups. We cooked most of our meals there too. Get the fresh sushi rolls from the fish market in Hanalei, grab some beer, and ice cream, and enjoy!! We highly recommend this place.

We booked our week long getaway on very short notice, we did not expect the breathtaking gardens and beautiful cottage to be as spectacular as it was! Toni and her dog Samson greeted us upon our arrival to show us the grounds and cottage- everything was perfect, the basket of goodies and a lovely bottle of wine just as the start to this amazing place. We arrived on a late flight to Kauai and drove to Tiki Hut to find a welcoming note, fresh baked banana bread, and Kona coffee and treats provided for us. Toni is a terrific host; friendly & helpful. The “Hut” is really comfortable and well equipped. The large tropical garden is exceptional. The location is just what we were hoping for; quiet and less than a five minute walk down a private lane to one of the best beaches on Kauai. We can hardly wait to return.

Awesome place! We have been visiting Kauai and staying in different cottages/homes on the North Shore for 23 years. The Tiki Hut was by far the most beautiful place we have stayed. Every small detail was in place to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. The garden setting was gorgeous and perfect. Our host, Toni, was absolutely wonderful and her furry sidekick, Sampson (the official greeter), cheerfully visited us every morning to say hello. The location is outstanding, with an easy walk to Tunnels Beach. We would definitely stay at the Tiki Hut again and would highly recommend it.

A very short walk to the stunning Tunnels Beach on the North Shore of Kauai is just an added bonus to our week long stay at the Tiki House. Toni and her black lab Sampson have created a magical place. The beautiful grounds that surrounded the Tiki House look and feel like a botanical garden complete with the melody of song birds throughout the day. The two lanai’s of the house offer wonderful areas to sit and enjoy the visual beauty and sounds of nature. The Tiki House was perfect for my wife and I and we both look forward to our next stay there.
