Wonderful host and property. The entire process was very smooth. The location is right next to the beaches and Sunset Cliffs. It is within walking distance to mini marts and Krysp grocery store. The property had a very private back yard/deck with a couple of chairs to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. You can spend a whole vacation just walking around Ocean Beach and enjoying the sights and restaurants. I highly recommend this rental.

My husband and adult son stayed in this casita July 22-25, 2024. It was small but worked for the 3 of us. It was clean and had beach towels and chairs to use. Plenty of bath towels and shampoo, soap, etc. I loved the washer/dryer so we didn't have to come home with dirty clothes. I brought my own laundry sheets. The main drag of restaurants was a few short blocks away and we could walk to the beach. You are in the flight path so planes could be heard taking off. It didn't bother me but bugged my husband. While outside on patio, we had to stop talking and wait for planes to pass. On the flip side, it only took 15 minutes to get to airport with no interstate driving. There was one A/C unit so the bedrooms were a bit warm but they cooled down eventually. Ceiling fans helped. I know the hot 90 degree temps are not normal. For our short stay, this place was perfect for the 3 of us!

We had a wonderful stay at Dora’s property. The location was spectacular, so close to the beach and walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops on Newport Ave. The casita is extremely well-equipped and had everything we needed. The home was clean and comfortable, quiet and inviting. Dora was also exceptionally kind and accommodating. She allowed us an early check-in and a late check-out and was fully responsive throughout. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to others without hesitation. Thank you!!

This little place was big on charm and amenities. The location is just a few blocks from Ocean Beach and the pier there. It’s very private considering it’s a carriage house in the backyard of another house. The parking space was great because parking in the area is tricky. It was close to the big attractions (10 mins to SeaWorld and 20mins to SD Zoo and Balboa park) It was clean and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay including boogie boards and other beach toys as well as everything we needed for the kitchen etc. It was perfect for our short stay with our family of four.

This was an extra cozy space. It worked well for our family (we have two young kids that loved being able to sleep on the bunk beds). We didn't spend much time at the Casita, as we were off doing ocean adventures. It may have been a little too small for a group of adults to stay if you planned on spending any amount of time at "home base" during your stay. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, it seemed, but there isn't much space to be able to cook. However, the Casita is in such a great location for walking to fabulous restaurants and grocery store. We were also able to walk just up the street to see the sunset over the ocean and do a morning tide pool walk to the beach. This was a fabulous home base for the few days we spent in San Diego.

We are very happy with our experience. Dora was very responsive and helpful. Checkin and checkout was easy and flexible. Lots of towels, boogie boards, beach chairs and sand toys to use. Washer and dryer was very convenient. Two minute walk to a great little beach and 5 to 10 minute walk to restaurants, shops, groceries, main beach and pier. Very helpful to have a dedicated parking spot. Definitely hope to stay there again.

Small, quiet casita. Not very loud location. It is .5 block from the beach but its not a relax beach. Pretty much just to look at, its all rocks and water no beach . You have to walk at least 10 mimutes to the shops and actually beach .

They were gracious in supplying everything they expected their renters to need, which was so so helpful! Casita Rico is a very reasonably priced property near the beach, restaurants and stores. We had absolutely no issues with the location or property. It was quiet and sitting out on the little deck in the morning and evenings was something that I enjoyed. The only things we would have changed is to add a door mat and getting bigger coffee cups! I loved having the washer and dryer right there so that I could do some washing before we had to catch our flight home. The neighborhood itself is easy to walk with lots of options. There are great cocktails to try at Raglan's just down the block. If a day of pampering is in order - Therapie Day Spa is also a short walking trip away. We were there during the street fair/chili cook-off. That was a day well spent with tasting and voting on the chili cook-off entrants, listening to the bands and browsing the merchant tents.

We were very pleased with this place and with the host - Dora. She was readily available to answer questions. The location was perfect, about a block from the water and a few blocks from all kinds of restaurants. There was off street parking although we didn’t use it, we used Lyft to get around. The place itself was just enough, two bedrooms with comfortable beds, eating area, kitchen and bathroom. I would definitely recommend this casita if you are wanting to be in the Ocean Beach area.

Being back in Ocean Beach after 20 years with our boys was wonderful. The location was incredible, and the beach was just a block away! The hosts were super responsive and made check-in and out easy. It was great to have a dedicated parking spot, shopping, incredible restaurants, and entertainment just footsteps away. We absolutely LOVED the location of this property! It's just a 1/2 block walk to explore the Ocean Beach tide pools, and a short walk to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. It's far enough away from the hustle and bustle that it's quiet and feels residential, yet anything you need is easily walkable by young and old alike. Our host Dora was a wonderful communicator and helpful. The casita is supplied with a the basics and more. We had a great week here and highly recommend!

I can't say enough good things about this place. Easy to check in, owner was responsive and helpful. Plenty of beach stuff and towels. Beds were comfortable and the whole place was roomy and cute. Me, my husband, our adult son and our 10 year old son stayed here with plenty of room. Super close to the beach and the OB farmers market (on Wednesday). The porch is cute and comfortable. We spent most of our time there on the porch, enjoying the quiet neighborhood. We will absolutely stay here again. Thank you Dora :)

I loved staying at this sweet, convenient casita. I was on my own but there is room for a couple plus a child, or even three friends. The private outdoor space is perfect for drinks and a yoga mat, or to take your laptop out to work. You're just a block from the dramatic Pacific cliffs and gorgeous sunsets and a staircase to a small sand beach at low tide. No need to drive into OB for dinner - it's an easy walk to all the restaurants. The casita has its own parking space, wi-fi, washer/dryer. It really felt like a home away from home.

A friend and I enjoyed a week of laid back vacationing. Sunshine and lots of walking was what we needed. Enjoyed south side of OB, near cliffs and sandy beach! Hosts responsive, and allowed us complete peace ( I assume host lives in main house). We were happy to be left to our own.

This casita is definitely an OB gem! Walk out your door and the adventure begins. The water and beautiful cliffs are steps away and with just a brisk walk you are in the heart of OB--Newport Ave. Bars, restaurants, shops, such fun. The place itself is so cute and has everything you can possibly need. If you cant find it, keep looking because its there!! 2 bedrooms with such comfy beds..three of them!! Well stocked for our convenience with shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, hair dryer, sunscreen, bug spray, beach chairs, washer, dryer, you name it. Such wonderful people as well. We had our kids over ( who live in OB ) and they wanted to play cards. Couldn't find any. Sent over a text and here come the cards! THANK YOU :) Didn't realize how special is was to have our own parking spot till we arrived. another THANK YOU :) Saved tons of money by eating at Chris's deli...outstanding! make sure you go!! Again, thank you for making our visit so wonderful and homey!! See you again soon.
