Hand Built Log Cabin On River - Three Bedrooms, Two Bath On Private 15 Acres

The cabin was absolutely perfect for my family's getaway! We are really happy with our stay. It is a picturesque and relaxing spot right next to the river. For hiking/ATVs, the Rio Grande National Forest is a few miles down the road from the cabin and easy to access.The hosts have thoughtfully provided a few seating areas outside, including a fire pit with chairs, a picnic bench, and a patio table set. The cabin also has ample seating with a wooden bench and two picnic tables on the back covered porch (one full-size, one short). The porch was cool most of the day (until late afternoon heat), and cooled again at night. It's situated to allow for great cross-breezes. We were often visited by several hummingbirds there. Our kids enjoyed splashing in the river, reading in the hammocks, and playing on the small home-playground. The main yard is lovely at night with the string lights around the property. The kitchen is well-appointed and set up for feeding a large group. There is a primary bedroom with an attached bathroom on the main level next to the kitchen. The kitchen is open to the living room and dining area. Upstairs are 2 small bedrooms, a small loft with lounge chairs and futon, and a bathroom. It was very cozy. We enjoyed seeing the personal touches throughout the cabin.

We were here for almost 4 weeks. I could easily have stayed 4 more. This is the perfect getaway to reconnect with nature, family and friends. I so miss the mornings sitting by the river with a book and a cup of coffee. I so miss falling asleep at night feeling the cool breeze on my face and looking up at the stars. Everything was PERFECT! I cooked and baked endlessly in this incredibly well stocked kitchen. The beds were comfy and the sheets were soft. There are books and games for kids and adults alike. The horses up the road looked forward to our daily visits and my husband regularly brought me bouquets of wildflowers. Our grandchildren and grown children came, even from as far away as Maryland. And then friends stopped in for a few days here and there. My 9 year old grand-daughter said "grandma, I want to live here." I told her, "me too". Not having a tv was a blessing. We played games, read books and just listened to the river and the birds who call this heavenly place home. The grandchildren learned to play jacks and Old Maid. So many memories were created here. I cannot say enough about the great communication with Joe and Kass. I feel like I know them. They are the perfects hosts. If you need to find peace of mind again, just come stay at the cabin for a while. We will be back for sure.

The photos do not do this place justice! It’s gorgeous! The rooms are spacious, the cabin in general was perfect for our family. We will definitely be back here again! Maybe we can use the outdoor fire pit (hopefully they lift the burn ban soon!)

I missed the information concerning fishing on the river behind the cabin and all the condition to fish and increased fees. I thought those rules and regulations were totally out of line.
