The cottage was clean and neat. Furniture was NOT garage sale quality! We loved the seclusion and amenities were a quick drive. At first I questioned having to bring our own bed linens and towels but then understood with the water situation. I can understand the stress of a washer and dryer. This home away from home is a bargain!

The cottage was perfect for our surprise, sisters trip. There is plenty of indoor seating, kitchen ware & outdoor patio space. Beds were comfortable and the house maintained it's cool temps throughout the stay. We greatly appreciated the privacy and ability to sit outside and visit without feeling like we were disturbing the neighbors. Thank you for sharing your home!

This is the nicest cottage. Tucked away and very private and peaceful. Host was easy to contact and gave us great advice on what to bring. Would rent this for sure again!! Great hideaway and suggest it for Fall as well. The Island was great to see without the hussle and bussle of summer!!

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Cottage so much that we are already planning for next year. Our grown family of 6 enjoyed making s'mores at the fire pit and played ball in the spacious yard. This cottage is special because we could bring our puppy and take him to the beach nearby. We rented a golf cart to drive into town, but even without the cart the location of the cottage provides proximity to town, the state park and the glacial grooves. We had Brandy Alexander's at the Village Pump and dinner at the Island House. All of our other meals were spent at Cedar Cottage where the kitchen was well stocked with everything a cook needs. We also enjoyed watching fun summer movies and the cottage has a good video library to choose from as well as streaming options. We look forward to making this an annual trip at this functional and accessible property.

The property is nice but definitely needs cleaning. The kitchen plates were not clean. We had to wash everything before using. Shower stall was dirty. The house interior needs cleaned and painted. The deck could use sweeping and power washing. Many weeds and could be so much nicer. We still enjoyed the stay.

A group of friends stayed for a couple days. It was a nice place. A little surprised that we had to bring own linens (towels and bed sheets) but checking with other rentals was the same thing. I guess because it was an island. So understood. Most everything was there in regards to kitchen accessories, however no paper towels. Also, we had to take and PAY for the garbage at the refuge place. Thank goodness we had a car so we could get it there. This should have been done through the cleaning crew!!!

The cabin was perfect for our group and we had An amazing time! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need and there was a great supply of games and movies - which our kids appreciated! We were close to everything and had a great time spending time together as a family and exploring the island. Clear communication from the hosts and everything you could need- thanks so much

Off the beaten path, but close to the boat ramp and down town area. Good fire pit and space for our dog to roam. Cleaned up all the dog poop including our own (don’t be a slob clean up after your dog). We appreciate our host allowing us to bring our dog and honor him by keeping the yard clean. Parking was sufficient to allow space for two cars and a small sailboat. Our host provided a storage area near by but it was not needed. The bunk bed room is very small with no windows. It does have a vent fan In all an enjoyable stay! Thank you

The cottage and location were perfect for us. Two grandparents and three grandkids ages 5 through 9. The cottage was clean and that is always my first concern when we are going to stay anywhere. We spent our time at the beach, fishing and riding around in a golf cart. We also were able to tour the island school. We had a good time.

My husband and I stayed here with our son and grandson. The home was perfect for us. We were on the island to fish, and the house was a great place to hang out after a long day on the water. It is exactly as described. Very clean, and very fast wi-fi which was important to my grandson. We plan to stay again next year!

We had a wonderful weekend at this cottage celebrating my friends wedding! Wish check out time could have been a little later considering we (as in the renter) we’re in charge of completely cleaning the cottage after our stay. Other than that it was perfect and great location!

We have been renting a cottage out in the woods on South Bass for years every summer, and unfortunately, someone rented it out for the whole season in 2022. We bring our dog on vacation, and there just wasn't anything that worked for us on South Bass, so we decided to try a different island. We looked at Pelee (in Canada), Middle Bass and Kelleys. The Cedar Cottage seemed to scratch our itch, so we decided to go on a new adventure. Kelleys Island it is! First off, the cottage is surrounded by houses, but you'd never know it. It's very secluded, and in a quiet section of the island. It's very private, and we enjoy that. There is a nice yard that was big enough to play fetch with my dog in, and the hammock is a nice touch. The firepit is great, and we used it every night but one. Note: You do need to buy/bring your own firewood. The campground at the State Park sells it, but we bought ours from a place a couple houses east of the KI Winery. There is plenty of outdoor seating, and the night sky is beautiful out away from the lights of the cities! There is also a nice deck and a table to have dinner at with an umbrella. All nice touches. The inside of the cottage is where it really shines. It's not a big place, but feels bigger than it is. The first thing that struck us was how clean it was. We have stayed in lots of "cottages/cabins in the woods", and they have all kinda smelled like it (it's not even that bad of a thing, but it is a thing). Not the Cedar Cottage. It was clean, and it smelled clean. It's also amazingly well stocked with amenities. Just off the top of my head, the wifi is fast, there are plenty of plugs, the TV is nice, there is surround sound, there are DVD's and board games, the furniture is clean and comfortable, the kitchen is amazingly well stocked (I know that the description said there was a coffee grinder, but I didn't believe it, and brought my travel grinder. No need!), there is plenty of seating, the kitchen is big enough to cook real meals in, and, and.... Okay, there's a lot to list here. Let me slow down. The house is filled with gadgets and creature comforts. White noise machines. Door draft stops. Motion activated night lights. The beds were clean and comfortable. The attention to detail is amazing. I can't say enough good things. The Cedar Cottage is a great place to stay, and I HIGHLY recommend staying there!

My bestie & I spent the weekend at the Cedar Cottage. Our host Mark was wonderful at communicating throughout. We had a really fabulous stay. The cottage was clean & cozy. We grilled out on Saturday evening. It was so peaceful. The neighbors waved when we rode past in our golf cart. It was very welcoming. We will stay at the Cedar Cottage again perhaps adding a few more days to enjoy the fire pit. Thanks so much Mark. You have a lovely cottage. We appreciate you sharing it with us, Til next time. This was a great place for a weekend getaway, a very peaceful and private area. We loved the fire pit and being surrounded by woods. The house seemed to have everything we needed, brought our linens. You will want a golf cart or bikes to get around - if you want to go around and go into town and such. That was our favorite part. The owner is very responsive too.

Comfy cottage with everything we needed, clear directions, quick communications from owner when we had questions, and everything worked and was well-thought-out. Really enjoyed our stay. Access road a bit rough in places, so take your time and you'll be fine. So quiet and restful at Cedar Cottage! Loved it and hope to return soon!
