About this house rental
With a PMR room.
The château is 2 hours from Paris, 50 minutes from Le Mans and Tours and 35 minutes from Vendôme station.
Facing due south, on a hillside, the château offers a breathtaking view over the Loir valley.
Swimming pool (heated from April to September) on the terrace overlooking the Loir valley, with its Orangerie where you can enjoy your meals (barbecue, kitchen, fridge, cutlery, dishwasher, toilet, shower).
The gîte can accommodate up to 12 adults (plus one or 2 babies), for family get-togethers or get-togethers with friends, in a peaceful and rejuvenating historic setting.
It's an ideal place for teleworking, quiet and isolated (good connection via fibre + good quality 4G) or for revising for exams.
Description of the château:
You will be accommodated in the recently renovated eastern part of the château.
On the ground floor, there is a large lounge, a dining room opening onto a small TV room, a kitchen and a PRM bedroom with its own bathroom.
On the first floor, there are 4 bedrooms, one of which is a suite with its own sitting room.
Beds are made on arrival and towels and tea towels are provided.
On the ground floor, enjoy the terrace with a swimming pool reserved entirely for guests, an orangery with a small kitchen, a room, 2 toilets and a shower, and a room in the château where you can play table tennis in the hot weather or table football.
Upstairs, each room has double beds that can be separated into single beds.
The château is opposite the manor house of La Possonnière, where Ronsard lived, next to the châteaux of Poncé and Courtanvaux, and close to many typical villages, including a troglodyte, churches and châteaux that dot the Loir region.
It's a quiet, comfortable and pleasant base for visiting the châteaux of the Loire Valley (Amboise, Blois, Beauregard, Clos-Lucé, etc.) and the zoos at Beauval, La Flèche and Pescheray, all around an hour away.
The château is surrounded by woodland, making it ideal for a wide range of walks.
A 'greenway' under the château is ideal for walking and cycling.
Examples of nearby sporting activities: canoeing on the Loir, fishing, walking or cycling (bikes can be hired at 15km and available on site if requested in advance). The Marçon leisure centre, 30 minutes away, offers access to a wide range of sports (swimming, sailing, tennis, horse-riding, canoeing, hot-air ballooning, etc....).
In August, don't miss the 'Marçon Classique', a gathering of over 1,000 old cars, the music festival in Montoire and, at the end of August, the music festival in Poncé sur le Loir.

History of the château :
The first traces of the château date back to the 12th century. The du Bellay and Hautefort families (including Marie, who was the platonic mistress of Louis XIII and, lady-in-waiting and confidante of Queen Anne of Austria, was exiled here by Richelieu) lived in the château. After the French Revolution, the Marquis de La Roche Bousseau renovated the château, adding period decor in the Violet de Duc style. Since then, the château has remained in the family of its owners.

We really enjoyed our stay. A beautiful house with spectacular views. The pool was brilliant and so convenient to have the pool house also. Marina was very attentive. The perfect place for 3 generations to enjoy a family holiday.

The chateau is absolutely lovely - beautiful setting and lovely hosts. Quaint villages surround, so easy to run to the bakery or grocery, and easy drives to Le Mans, Chenenceau, vineyards, etc. Highly recommend!

The gite at the chateau is beautiful and well equipped with the pool and games room for kids and adults of all ages! The area is lovely and very interesting, just a bit remote so it's useful to plan ahead for meals and shopping.

When we first saw the photos we went “wow” but when we saw it for real we were even more impressed! The Chateau and it’s surroundings are truly breathtaking and the owners are doing a great job renovating and making improvements. The pool area in the converted orangerie is a great example. There were two toilets, a shower and a small kitchen and large dining area. Lots of room to spend all day at the pool. Inside the Chateau the bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious. There was even a laundry room - which was handy as we were a family of 9 on this trip. If you have someone who is disabled or struggles with stairs then the downstairs bedroom and en-suite were fantastic. Overall we had a great time, including lots of great meals in the lovely dining area. Many thanks for your hospitality, Marina and Phillipe!
