Maison in the Cotentin with exotic garden, very close from the sea.

The house was really easy to find and is in a great location, within easy distance of three Boulangeries and supermarkets and also a short walk to the harbour. Being winter, we didn't make much use of the garden (which Im sure is lovely in summer) and the conservatory was cold so we didn't use it. The house was warm which was great, and the fire works but we did have to buy our own wood. The toilet upstairs is very small and various members found they could not use it at all as they did not fit in the space (tall members of the family)!The living room could be improved by providing some comfortable seating. The cutlery was old and well used. The main issue we had was the faulty shower. We received a note upon arrival that the overhead shower had broken and that parts were needed to repair it. The owners said they would come to fix it during the week but this did not happen. We used the shower attachment however this squirted a jet of water straight at you and was difficult to manage. We were told after booking that we had to pay for sheets (45 Euros) and could opt to pay a cleaning fee of 50 Euros. This information was not available prior to booking. It would have improved transparency to know this in advance as it may have affected my decision to book the property. I was under the impression that bedding was included and it was only after booking that charges were applied. Despite the lovely location, I would not book this property again.

We enjoyed the stay a lot

The property is well located in St Vaast La Hougue. Older property that is well loved. Gorgeous backyard and garden that is inviting to stay and relax. Walk into town to a fantastic bakery, restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed out stay there. Jaques and Marie are wonderfully responsive hosts.

Jolie maison, bien située, jardin et véranda très agréables, Mais!!! Équipement, en particulier de la cuisine à revoir : un four de ce siècle serait appréciable, pas d'économe, pas de couteau à viande, plaques vitrocéramiques chauffent mal.. Le ménage laisse à désirer : moutons de poussière partout, les fauteuils extérieurs ne sont pas nettoyés au prétexte que les oiseaux vont les salir en qlq jours, dommage, ce serait sympa en arrivant...

Das Häuschen ist nett. Mobiliar und vor allem die Küchenausstattung sind zum Teil ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Die Sitzmöbel am Kamin sind klein, man kann sich bei kaltem Wetter nicht gemütlich aufhalten. Dafür sind Wintergarten und Garten schön!

Maison bien située pour visiter le Cotentin....Le seul bémol, la maison se trouve sur une route principale, mais le merveilleux jardin nous le fait oublier...très bien aménagée, décorée, le charme demeure....Notre séjour restera inoubliable, le Cotentin est une région magnifique....

Maison charmante, superbe véranda et jardin style tropical. Idéalement située, proche du centre-ville, environnement calme. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants. Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine. Et nous reviendrons.
