About this house rental

A classic style beach house but with a difference. Elevated on stilts Skyviews many windows frame the sky, tree-tops, hills and sea. From the front veranda you can watch the colours change as the sun sets over the western hills. From this vantage point you can also contemplate the vast night sky. Perfectly situated on a quiet street, Skyview offers peace with convenience. A short walk will take you to cafes, shops and to the Anglesea River.

The house has an open plan kitchen, living and dining area, three bedrooms, and bathroom (with toilet). The kitchen is well appointed and the bedrooms are a good size with queen-sized beds and two bunks. Streaming sunlight, polished hardwood floors throughout, well stocked bookshelves, and simple but stylish furnishings bring an uncluttered, fresh and relaxing feel.

Under the house is ample car parking, a laundry with a washing machine, dryer, and second shower. There is also a second separate toilet. This undercover space is practical and convenient for storing surfboards, boats and bikes, and for drying beach towels and wet suits. Its a cool refuge from the heat of the day. A BBQ and outdoor setting complete this family friendly getaway.

Strict No Party Policy (schoolies, hens, bucks etc)

An excellent location, just a very short walk away from the main retail strip in Anglesea, as well as the wetlands. What I love about it his place is that it has no tickets on itself - a humble property that you can really make your own during your stay. A few circumstantial issues with the lighting (which we didn’t mind, as there are heaps of lights inside). The stairs are steep so it won’t suit everyone but absolutely perfect for us. Although we were there in winter, I can imagine the downstairs section would be excellent in summer with the table tennis and the spaciousness. Would definitely consider again. Been there twice already!

Great location and great being pet friendly. Comfortable beds, good room sizes and neat and tidy. Also very handy to be able to hire linen for this property (just need to note that sheets aren't fitted which means making bunks takes heaps more effort) Being a managed property also made it easy to get immediate response for booking rental rather than wait 24hrs and have to try again if not successful. Would definitely hire again. Just a couple of issues with available crockery/utensils (not many teaspoons, only 1 pair of tongs & damaged/dirty, some chipped crockery, cutting knives blunt) & cleanliness of cooking items (frypan needed a scrub & unable to cook in successfully, plug in grill left dirty from prior users) and broken clothes dryer. Also not enough hot water for showers on 1st day as unaware we had to manually change settings from night heating to day heating for 7 showers to happen.

The property was great, but be aware that it is basic. It had been freshly cleaned before we arrived but the oven was filthy and the previous people’s soap (as in a cake of soap) was still in the shower. It had a damp smell to it but once a few windows were open and the heater was on it wasn’t noticeable. Otherwise it was totally fine for our stay. We loved that we could bring our dogs but the “fencing” may not be enough for dogs who fret or are escape artists. If you have any mobility issues be aware that the only way in is steps. We were very strict with our little kids in regards to the steps. The TV in the bedroom didn’t have any reception (not an issue for us but maybe for other guests) and a few lights didn’t work. Beds were very soft (we didn’t use the bunks) as were the pillows. I’d suggest bringing your own pillow if you like something firmer. The doonas are also very thin so a big warm blanket would help on cold nights. Otherwise this place is in a great location, close to shops and walking trails, a relatively small trek to the beach. Kids were happy, husband was happy, dogs were happy so I’m happy.
