Everything in our stay at BRUNA apartment in Soresina was like a well designed treat. Bruna and Alberto, our hosts, are the most charming Italian couple. They welcome you and provide you with care, but still their presence is felt somehow like the breeze in their Eden garden or the mild deep taste of their bio Pinot Griggio. Being artists themselves, everything around this place is created with artistic and classy. You get the feel of the great sculptor, that once worked in this place and the history of Alberto's family up to the Napoleonic Era. Thank you, Bruna and Alberto for letting us into your beautiful world and sharing it with us. We can't wait to visit you and the beautiful Soresina again! And last but not least. Alberto provided us with useful tips on how to get a feeling of charming Lombardia, with trip routes and places. One of our top 5 great places visited ever!

The property of Albero is very beautiful. The historic apartment is decorated with great taste. The garden is a paradise. We discovered many pretty towns and cities from Sorensina.

Decent Apartment in Soresina
Decent Apartment in Soresina
We rented the apartment in Soresina since we wanted a central location that would allow us to visit several historic cities without too many long drives--Cremona, Bergamo, Piacenza, Pavia, and Brescia. That way we hoped to be able to stay in one apartment and avoid having to move every few days. However, it turned out that the drives to these cities were mostly pretty taxing. Next time it would be better to move our location after short stays to be closer if not in the cities we wanted to visit. Soresina itself is an average town with little to offer of historic interest. While the thought of staying in a former medieval monastery was attractive, the apartment's furnishings are on balance dated. Also the kitchen is not well equipped although the kitchen/dining table was large enough. Access to the far bedroom requires walking through the first bedroom off the kitchen/dining area. The far bedroom had a large wardrobe with hangers, but the wardrobe in the first bedroom does not open, and there is no closet and only a chest of drawers. The living room is large with a comfortable couch and comfortable chairs. The bathroom is off the living room. There is no tub, but the shower is large. It does not have an enclosure-- only a curtain, but the water drained well off its sloped floor. There are screens on all windows, but no AC. WiFi is available, and there is a small TV but only with Italian channels. The garden is pleasant with a table and chairs. The apartment is very quiet. If the owners are in residence, renters must park on a side street around the corner; spaces are usually available. Parking in the driveway requires backing out into a moderately trafficked street. So it helps to have someone in the street asking the traffic to stop. The local La Familia grocery store is the best place to shop for food items. The owner, his wife, and son were very welcoming, hospitable, and charming. They gave us a personal tour of their own residence created in the 19th century out of the medieval monastery with its 19th century furnishings. If you stay in Soresina, visit the large brick castle in nearby Soncino as well as the charming frescoed church Santa Maria di Grazie at the edge of Soncino. These sites were overlooked by the Michelin Guide but are well worth a trip.

A wonderful surprise and a unique experience
A wonderful surprise and a unique experience
We – a family of two adults and three small children – rented the flat "Bruna" for ten days in October, and even with some rainy days it was a wonderful stay. The garden with palm trees, flowers, cats was a perfect spot on sunny days for relaxation and play. The tables outside was the natural choice for lunch. In the evening we enjoyed the magic light, the atmosphere, and the silence on the terrace. The apartment was well equipped with kitchen utensils, books (including a lot of guide books), and cozy things to make us feel all at home. We made a couple of day trips to Cremona, Bergamo, and Mantova – all worth seeing. In Soresina itself I recommend a visit to the Spaccio Latteria Soresinese (dairy outlet; but much more than just milk and cheese!) as well as to the restaurant La Bucca della Nonna. Alberto, Bruna and Giacomo were very friendly and tried in every possible way to make our stay pleasant. We will – I think – always carry a piece of Soresina within us!

Vielen Dank Alberto

Stilvolle Unterkunft in norditalienischer Kleinstadt
