About this house rental

Beautiful, old farmhouse, entirely renovated to a very high standard and offering circa 150 M2 of living space including 3 double bedrooms. Modern, luxurious and bright interior with original features including wooden beams, and French oak ceiling and bread ovens in the lounge. With its large private grounds and nice views over the valley below, this is a great home for getting away from it all, yet perfectly located for visiting the famous Côte d'Or wine region beginning about a fifteen-minute drive away, the lovely, historic wine capital of Beaune, and so much more. Green cycling path departs from our village of Thury along the old railway track.
Comfort + : very efficient JOTUL wood burner, X-Large Bathroom with separate "Italian" shower space, 2 separate toilet rooms, 3 double bedrooms. Fully equipped utility space etc. Luxury furniture & equipment throughout the house. Broadband Internet, Large flatscreen TV and smaller TV in master bedroom, with French and UK channels.

A GREAT PLACEWe spent 3 weeks in this beautiful house in August 2025. It was perfectly clean, very well equiped, beds comfortable, very nice bathroom (very large), kitchen has everything you need (there are even 2 sorts of coffeemachines to choose from). It is nicely furnished, again comfortable, and above all nice for the eye. It is large and the bedrooms are large as well. The house is situated just outside the village and has a large terrain around it. You can enjoy the sun any time of the day. In the morning spectaculair sunrises in front of the house in the evening spectaculair sunsets. The car can be parked easily and if you want under the barn like construction. The wifi is limited to the kitchen and the livingroom. The kitchen has a very large table and can be used for dinner (in the living room there is gigantic dinner table) but also for using the internet. So room enough for everybody in case you are there with more people.The photos on the VRBO website are completely accurate. Communication with the owner and the local person was efficient and friendly.All in all we had a great stay and certainly recommend the house.

We enjoyed three lovely weeks in this fabulous house. It is in a tiny little village to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and our jobs. We spend time to read and cook. Relaxing! We had been exploring the burgundy wine region during our days and were sitting next to the fireplace at the nights. By the way: The house has a kitchen fully equipped with everything you will need. All the equipment and furniture is of high quality. The landlords were very helpfull. We'll love to be back next year.

Not often you pick a venue which meets all expectations. The booking process and communication was clear and untroubled. The property is clean has lots of space, quite and not overlooked. The pictures represent the property well. Would recommend a stay, if you want somewhere quiet and un hassled.

Last week, I spent an enchanting time at a generously sized vacation house in Thury, Burgundy. Bathed in just the right amount of sunlight and shade, this house with its vast garden offers an idyllic setting for relaxation. Furnished with luxury items, the house's interiors exude class and comfort, all while being spotlessly clean. Families with children will appreciate the indoor and outdoor toys, although the latter are somewhat dated. The owners excel in communication, ensuring a hassle-free experience from booking through the stay. However, if you have a crawling baby, some stair blocking may be necessary for safety. This is manageable and should not detract from the overall experience. Located near Burgundy's gems such as Dijon, Beaune, and the Route des Grands Vins, the house is also a stone's throw from charming local towns. This blend of tranquillity and accessibility is truly remarkable. In conclusion, this house is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a relaxing, memorable retreat in Burgundy. I highly recommend it to future guests.

We would highly recommend this lovely house. It has been recently restored to an exceptionally high standard while retaining character. We found it impeccably clean, very spacious, extremely well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The garden is large and enclosed with magnificent 360 degree views. Being on the edge of the village the location is completely tranquil. The house is within easy reach of the Morvan National park and also the Cote de Beaune vineyards. We stayed for two weeks and absolutely loved it here. The hosts are extremely kind and helpful people who genuinely wish for their guests to enjoy their stay. Nathalie the housekeeper is available if needed and is very helpful. We have stayed in quite a few gites in France and can happily say that this was by far and away our best experience.

Had a fantastic week at this house. The owners were very helpful beforehand and sent lots of info Nathalie also rely nice and she popped in at start of stay.. Very peaceful house, modern and clean. Beautiful location. Would suit both relaxing holidays as there is no sound apart from occasional bird and also families as swings and trampoline and a big garden. Everything was provided for and we had a wonderful holiday.. perfect in every way Thank you so much . .

This property is very spacious and comfortable. It is well equipped with all of the things you need for your stay. The owners were able to answer any questions we had, promptly and with care. A good bottle of wine welcomed us on arrival and the owners had left lots of useful information to help us get what we needed locally and plan our daily activities. The house is in a fabulous location with stunning views of the surrounding countryside (especially the sunset) and close to the rustic village of Thury. Thanks for a great Burgandy holiday!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this house. We had good contact with the owners, who was very responsive and helpful (including making sure a baby bed and seat is available), and the local gardienne lives close by and is also very attentive and gave us a warm welcome. The house is even better than on the pictures, completely renovated and very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped and the beds in the sleeping rooms are very good. The bathing room is very modern and spacious, something you do not often see. There are possibilities to BBQ and eat outside, overlooking the peaceful surroundings and enjoy the sunset. The garden is very big, so for kids it is a perfect environment, but also to relax in the sun. Although the village itself is very quiet, there are enough villages and castles nearby to visit. This house is absolutely recommendable!

Spent a perfect week with the family. House is fully featured, comfortable and has been modernised without losing its character. It is on the outskirts of a charming little village called Thury, with cows in nearly every field setting off the pretty landscape. About 800m away is the village shop that sells essentials (not open on Mondays) and a traditional, honest to goodness restaurant called the Thurysien that serves home-cooked food with a smile. This is not a tourist village but it's all the better for it. You'll get a real taste of rural living in Burgundy in glorious tranquility - a far cry from the hustle and bustle of England's towns and cities. For more lively towns there is Beaune and Autun about 25km away, and of course Dijon at about 60km. The smaller towns of Chateauneuf and Nolay are essential visits too, with the former offering some jaw-dropping views. And of course, how could I forget the glorious vineyards around Pommard that were ripe for cultivation at the time of our visit. Last of all, if you have kids the forest of Givry offers a fantastic treetop adventure park at very reasonable prices. The proprietors Benoit and Caroline were very friendly and attentive, answering questions promptly and sending plenty of information ahead of our visit. My father is disabled and walks with a rollator and the house was a great fit. A couple of steps either side of the living area joining bedrooms and kitchen were no hassle for him. Thanks also to Nathalie who was equally pleasant. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our two weeks stay. Everything in the house was pretty new and clean. The childeren especially enjoyed the space outside. The combination of the silence and the view gave the feeling of being on holiday.

We are a British family with two children aged 7 and 2 and we all had a lot of fun during our seven days at the house. The house is very well equipped with good quality furnishings, crockery and kitchen appliances. The house is finished to a very high standard and it was spotlessly clean. The temperatures during our week were in the mid to high 20's, but the temperatures inside the house remained very comfortable throughout. The owner was very attentive and the local housekeeper responded very quickly to a couple of requests we had. The house is located at the edge of a village so it is nice and quiet, with a remote feel to it, although you are only a few hundred metres to the village shop and restaurant. Our 2 year old keeps talking about the trampoline and how she wants to go back. Hopefully we will all go back in the very near future, for another great vacation.

We spent a wonderful week in this splendid house, and the surroundings are beautiful. Excellent location. Owners very communcative and friendly. The house is very spacious and very clean and everything provided. Just a GREAT place. Would definitely recommend renting this house. Lots of lovely villages to visit and lovely walks. Everything was perfect.

As a couple we have just returned from a fortnight's holiday in this beautiful, secluded, spacious house in a peaceful setting overlooking fields. The property was spotlessly clean and well-equipped with some thoughtful touches. We appreciated the housekeeper, Natalie, was just a phone call away if needed. The house is located approx 35km from Beaune and the great vineyards, with the Morvan and Macon within an hour and half's drive. The village has its own restaurant ,' Le Thurysian' serving excellent food (complete with comedic female proprietor), and in nearby Epinac the Auberge des Rives de la Drée is ideal for a quiet drink by the stream. We would also recommend a visit to Chateau Sully which is close by; further afield you can pick up some fabulous produce in the Dijon (various weekdays and Saturday) and Chagny (Sunday) markets. There is a wealth of birdlife in the surrounding area including peregrine falcons, honey buzzards, hen harriers, corn buntings, and numerous black redstarts. We were extremely lucky to get a glimpse of the rare European wild cat with its distinctive big tail near the Lac de Settons in the Morvan. Particularly enjoyed sitting under the old apple tree with a good book in late afternoon listening to the Charollais mooing with the odd tractor going by and also watching the sunset with a glass of Beaune.
