About this house rental
Villa La Selva is your private tropical oasis. A modern open-air shaded poolside lounge enables the ultimate in tropical indoor-outdoor living. A heated jacuzzi flowing into the infinity edge pool allows you to enjoy the villa day and night. Clean modern lines flow through the kitchen into a beautiful wooden dining table, setting the scene for memorable meals (we highly recommend a night of catering from the team at Pura Vida Catering its a must do!)
At Villa la Selva our aim is to give you the luxurious hotel feel in a private home setting. We provide daily housekeeping services Monday through Saturday with your rental. We can work into a schedule that fits your groups needs.
Additional housekeeping or breakfast preparation help hours can be pre-arranged.
Here in Hacienda Pinilla, a golf cart is a great way to explore the 4500-acre ranch. It's the best way to see the wildlife and monkeys on your way to and from the beach club, Marriott hotel or other amenities.

BEACH CLUB
We have a corporate beach club membership for our guests to enjoy the exclusive Hacienda Pinilla beach club membership.
Beachfront infinity pool, tiki bar and restaurant, spa, soccer and volleyball courts, fitness center, and sun up to sun down the lifeguarded beach at Playa Avellanas. There is a $10 entry fee per person that is then used as credit at the bar and restaurant.
Beach Club has an annual closing in October every year.
JW MARRIOTT HOTEL
Hacienda Pinilla is home to the J W Marriott hotel, as a guest of Villa la Selva you have access to the numerous restaurants on offer.
You can also purchase a day pass for use of the JW pool and amenities.

MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS
There are both Amateur and pro trails
The pro trails are 30 km running all throughout the ranch
The amateur trails are 15 km
These trails are also great for hiking and exploring the 4500 acres.
SURFING
Hacienda Pinilla has to be one of the best locations in Costa Rica to base your surf trip. With 6 different waves just on Playa Avellanas alone and private access to the beach breaks of Playa Langosta you don't even need to leave the ranch, but if you looking to explore the area, the famous Playa Negra reef breaks are just 10 minutes south and the river mouth and beach breaks of Tamarindo just 10 minutes to the north.
All of the internal spaces are air-conditioned with individual units allowing you customize your cooling throughout the home.
Villa La Selva has 4 bedrooms and is set up for 11 guests, all of the bedrooms have custom made beds with local wood creating a great style and vibe throughout.

Built in the exclusive gated community of Hacienda Pinilla’s Reserva de Golf you will have access to the incredible amenities here within Hacienda Pinilla.
You can get around by renting a car, renting our golf cart, renting bicycles, hiring a shuttle or taxi. Tamarindo, with its shopping, dining and nightlife is just 15 minutes away. The Daniel Oduber International Airport in the town of Liberia just an hour away.
There is a medical clinic within the Hacienda Pinilla community.
We can provide you with private chef bookings, massage therapy appointments, spa appointments, tours and more. Just ask and we can usually make it happen.
Golf cart, bicycles, tee times, private chef, massage, spa, and tours booked separately after rental agreement is complete.

The house worked great for our 3 couples. The outside showers were wonderful. The pool and jacuzzi worked great. Cleaning services were good. We had adequate communication with our host. We were surprised to not be met by our host when we first arrived at the house.

The house (and area) was just as beautiful in person as it is presented online. The hosts were very responsive to all questions or concerns. Our family of seven enjoyed our stay. Besides enjoying the beautiful home we enjoyed the beach club, surfing lessons, massages by the pool and horseback riding. While the housekeeping staff was very nice they never knocked-just walked in and they only came at the designated time (between 9-12) on the day we were leaving which actually was a bit inconvenient as we were trying to pack up and leave. But again they were kind, just more of a nuisance than a help. The transportation company referred by the host was wonderful (timely and extremely professional).

We had a great stay at the villa! The location is perfect and house is beautiful with everything you need for a week long stay. We were there with 2 families and the space worked great. One of the room has an exterior entrance (with a security code), but assume you would want an adult or older teen to stay in that room. The kitchen is well appointed. The area was very quiet and safe. I would recommend a car vs. a golf cart because the beach club was a good distance away (10 min drive) and a car felt safer. We loved Lola's and Il Rusitco for dining. The meals at the Beach Club were OK. The daily housekeeping was a treat and very through. Would definitely recommend!

It was absolutely perfect. The interactions with the owner and staff were wonderful. Couldn’t have asked for better. The home and property are beautiful. Will absolutely be back.
