Rural haven

In a beautiful, quiet rural setting, Wellrose Barn was perfect for an independent few days away with our dogs in mid-December. Amanda was very welcoming on our arrival and then left us to it - she was happy for us to ask if there was anything we needed, but that wasn't necessary. The Barn was super clean and very well appointed. The doggy towels provided at the bottom of the stairs were an especially thoughtful touch. The milk, bread, etc. left out for us were also very welcome. We enjoyed the peace of the garden and surrounding farmland, and slept like proverbial logs every night of our stay. We are hoping to go back in the summer.

Beautiful location. Hosts were very accommodating and left us alone completely. Even spotted a couple of UFO's which was an extra bonus!

Small but cozy place. Perfect for a short getaway

Beautiful accommodation. Remote location but easy to find due to the excellent communication from the host. Everything you need is there for you and there are plenty of things to do and see in the area.

Perfect stay in the countryside

We were wowed the moment we arrived. Beautiful garden location, spotlessly clean and thoughtfully decorated. The little touches like the fresh flowers, fresh bread and milk, eggs and fruit were greatly appreciated. The king size bed was so comfortable - had three amazing nights sleep.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay in Herts.

Very clean accommodation and peaceful location, extremely comfortable bed. Hosts very friendly and welcoming. Lovely gardens. Shower very good. Some nice villages nearby to visit. Plenty of extras (Bread, Milk , tea, coffee etc) and kitchen equipment.

Freezer compartment in fridge would be nice to have for ice creams etc. Fairly near Stanstead Airport so occasional aircraft noise.

The location was perfect and the garden lovely . The property and the hosts were very dog friendly., and the accommodation was both very well appointed and comfortable.

For a couple of eighty year olds the stairs seemed daunting... but they were manageable with plenty of handholds..

Cosy, romantic hideaway

The property was lovely, very clean and tidy and everything there you could need. From the minute we walked in we felt relaxed and comfortable. It had decent WiFi considering where it was. Amanda was really helpful and responsive. Such a cosy romantic place. Thank you 🥰

The room is very spacious, the bed is big and comfy. Lots of storage. The kitchen has plenty of facilities to cook with. The shower is roomy. There is parking space underneath the property. The garden is wonderful.

There is a step into the main room from the top of the stairs which is really high. This step is between the main room and shower/toilet so you need to negotiate it many times. This could be a problem if you have restricted mobility.

Very cosy comfortable stay in lovely clean loft style apartment.

Lovely, cosy upstairs little loft apartment type accommodation. Super comfortable with every thing you could need for a perfect stay. Arriving to find complimentary milk, bread, eggs etc was wonderful and made my day. Immaculate and super clean this was an amazing place to stay. Access to a gate control and keys made it a private and easy to access property

3rd visit and always a delight. They give some essentials which is so helpful. Lovely property on a quiet lane and beautiful garden to enjoy. Love this place and hope to visit many more times.

I didn’t like the out of date food left in Cabinets or the dirty unclean pan of which still had grease and own food left on(wouldn’t recommend use) wasn’t able to enter a room of which been told was a available and was that the booklet was left in a draw and wouldn’t have f found it didn’t randomly look in at the end of trip

We stayed during a very hot spell and were delighted to find a very good fan, which we then didn't need as the property had windows on both sides of the room, providing a gentle breeze of fresh air in the night.

Really beautiful place - peaceful, cosy, very friendly people.

Really beautiful place. We stayed here as a couple, for 3 days, enjoying some countryside peace and quiet with our dog. The converted upstairs of the barn is a compact studio, but feels larger, containing all you need to be comfortable, and more. It was really hot weather when we stayed, but numerous ceiling skylight windows made it lovely and airy, as well as black out blinds for early summer mornings. It is extremely well-kept and has pristinely clean facilities throughout. There were also some lovely touches when we arrived, with fresh garden flowers, fresh butter, bread, milk and yougart, which was a really nice surprise. There is a safe place to park your car in the garage, as well as free WiFi if needed, though in our case, we were staying well away from technology! The beautiful garden is lovely to sit in and relax with a drink. The hosts are such lovely people and provide whatever info you are interested in for your stay, including lots of beautiful local dog walks and places to eat and visit. There are lots of local villages, as well as being close to major transport networks. If you are a dog lover, our dog enjoyed it just as much, and made some furry friends with the hosts' dogs too. We will definitely come back, and would highly recommend Wellrose Barn to anyone!

Beautiful and peaceful

A lovely, tranquil space with all the attention to detail you could ever want! Plenty of plug points and the best shower we’ve had on our trip. The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped with lovely complimentary milk / eggs / fruit / spreads. We loved our stay here!
