The Gîte de La Boussole is in the heart of a village on the banks of the Loire, ideally located on the wine route and at the crossroads of the castles of Chaumont-sur-Loire, Amboise and Blois.
In an old barn completely restored, Nathalie and Tanguy wanted to create an original and warm place for your stay in a gite or guest room.
A pleasant base for all your cultural and sporting leisure activities.

Nathalie was cheerful and helpful, making us feel completely at home and Tanguy was exceptionally quick to respond to a small problem. The super king sized beds were ultra comfortable. A bedroom downstairs was particularly useful for one of our group with limited mobility. The accommodation was spacious and imaginatively decorated. Situated a few hundred steps from the Loire, many historic sites were within easy reach by car. We had a super stay.

Great communication with Nathalie before we got to property. And when we contacted her during our stay. Great parking space. Cool property on hot days as long as you close the curtains when you’re out for the day. Two fridges with the small freezer compartments at the top. Lovely courtyard with deck chairs and a dining table with cushions. Great location between Amboise and Blois. Just for info -there is a train line about half a mile away and it’s a road that runs right against the property has traffic quite regularly - but you would have to be VERY fussy for this to be a problem.We did a balloon ride with Balloon revolution and they flew right over Veuves where the Gite is.

Lovely property; the photos don't do the outside seating area justice. Perfectly placed for visiting chateaux and vineyards. Lots of information for local area provided by Nathalie. The restaurant in the village, La Croix Blanche, well worth a visit. Excellent food and lovely eating in the garden.

Beautiful gite, centrally located for excursions throughout the Loire Valley. Don't miss Chateau Chaumont, especially the gardens, and Leonardo da Vinci's final home in Amboise. The gite is incredibly clean with a well-stocked kitchen. Unfortunately, the village has no cafe, boulangeries, or tabac, so you really need a car or to be a bicyclist! Nathalie is wonderful, very communicative and eager for us to have a good time - helpful that she speaks English! À lot of tourist info available, pamphlets, etc. Very quiet and peaceful. Comfortable furniture, great showers! Wonderful restaurants in Boise and Amboise.

Nathalie's place is wonderful, in a small village a 15-min drive from Amboise. Very spacious and beautifully renovated, the accommodation is even better than the pictures! Nathalie was very helpful in offering recommendations and was responsive to our needs; would highly recommend as a base for a family or group of friends exploring the Loire Valley. Plus, the restaurant at the end of the road (La Croix Blanche) is marvellous.

The gite was handy for everything. Near to Chaumont, Amboise, Bloise. Plenty of good restaurants nearby and a supermarket for food and fuel. The house was lovely with everything we needed. Nathalie was very friendly and helpful.

The gite was perfect for three women friends traveling together, giving us the opportunity for fellowship when we wanted but also privacy when we wanted that. A lot of thought had been put into the renovation of the gite. It had plenty of natural light and was aesthetically pleasing. It had also been outfitted with the guest in mind, plenty of space for clothes, etc. We were thrilled to find a place with three showers too! Nathalie was very helpful in orienting us to the area. The location is in a small village not too far from Amboise which was a great location for visiting the chateaux. The village is very small and does not have a lot of amenities but does have a fantastic restaurant. There is another village about a mile away that has a lovely little epicerie where you can pick up your pain au chocolat in the morning. Overall, it was a fantastic value for the money and a delightful stay. I will comment that it would not be good for someone who is mobility impaired with a winding spiral staircase and steps without railing down into the upstairs bedrooms. That said we were 3 fit women about 70 years old and it did not pose a problem for us.

A 10 from start to finish! Nathalie is charming and so very helpful. It is obvious that no expense was spared in the remodel of this vacation rental. Great patio area to sit out and relax in. We were a group of six active seniors and had no issues with the stairs. Would rent again!

Nathalie is the best hostess. She introduced us to La Boussole like a person would introduce a best friend. The furnishings and beds were comfortable. We cooked and enjoyed several breakfasts and dinners. The interior is spectacular. We would not hesitate to stay at La Boussole again.

Everything you need to enjoy your stay. Comfortable beds and an easy, commute to Chateau’s and towns to explore. Highly recommend you book a reservation at the La Croix Blanche - walking distance and beautiful garden seating with great food. Second floor is not suitable for very young children or those with mobility issues. However, is perfectly suited for couples or families with older kids. Private showers for every bedroom and a shared toilet upstairs and one downstairs makes it easy to get ready to explore. Hostess is welcoming and will assist you making plans for the area. We will be back!

We enjoyed 5 marvelous days in the home of Nathalie Breche, with easy access to any and all of the wonderful castles within the Loire Valley, one of which can be seen across the River, Chateau Chaumont, a true representative of the luxury enjoyed by the few in Frances' history. Nathalies home does have a circular staircase for a second couple to enjoy their own space with full bathroom facilities on the second floor. No winding your way down to the loo in the dark!! The kitchen is well appointed and the patio is clean and private. Thank you Nathalie! We ALL enjoyed our time in your lovely home

We met dear American friends for the first time since the pandemic to visit chateaux and gardens, to walk along the Loire, to explore Tours and Blois and to cook together and explore local restaurants. The house was a perfect base for all these activities and we loved sitting in the sunny courtyard and around the dining table, chatting into the evening. Nathalie gave us a great tip for a walk and was super helpful with all queries. We highly recommend this lovely gite.

La Boussole is a wonderful gitê, with 3 good sized en-suite bedrooms, a communal living and cooking area and the most relaxing and private of courtyards where you can also dine al fresco. The gitê is beautifully designed inside and out and absolutely immaculate. Communication with the host Nathalie was simple, either though email or telephone and she is close by should you need her during your stay, although never imposing. Location is absolutely perfect, approx 400 m from the banks of the Loire and located between the two beautiful towns of Amboise and Blois, with château's galore and activities such as kayaking, cycling and hot air ballooning all on your doorstep. Although there are many good restaurants in the region the best we dined at was La Croix Blanche, only 300 m from La Boussole. Looking forward to returning soon as there's still so much for us to see and do in the region and we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else but La Boussole. Merci Beaucoup Nathalie - c'était parfait.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this very well-appointed Gite. Its location for sight-seeing is excellent and it was a warm and welcoming place to return to. The decor is stylish and full of character; the furnishings are very comfortable and having a shower in each bedroom was a bonus. We were impressed by the fantastic spiral staircase and, if someone in your party were to be unable to manage them, there is a great bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Nathalie was extremely helpful and lovely to deal with.

Our three-night stay in this lovely house was a pleasure in every way. Communication with Nathalie was excellent and we connected with her at the beginning and end of our visit without any difficulty. The gite itself has an attractive, open layout and has all the amenities you could want. The village is quiet and you will have to drive 3 or 4 kilometers to find a store, bakery and butcher, but there is an excellent restaurant recommended by Nathalie that’s just a 3 minute walk away. The only warning I’d mention is that the spiral staircase going up to the 2 upper bedrooms would be risky for smaller children and difficult for the infirm. Otherwise, there’s nothing not to like!

We loved our stay in this beautiful gite. It is spacious, well equipped and very tastefully decorated and furnished. There are 3 showers so no queues needed! The weather was unusually hot and we particularly enjoyed our time sitting out in the evenings in the lovely private courtyard. Inside there is a large dining table and also a sofa and seated area so had the weather been more inclement we would happily have spent more time inside. The spiral staircase is a lovely feature and leads to the 2 upstairs bedrooms. The third bedroom is downstairs. Nathalie was an extremely helpful host, she quickly responded to any queries / messages and although we had no problems during our stay it was good to know she lived close by if needed. The location of the gite is excellent, it is located in a quiet , tiny village part way between Amboise and Blois so ideal for exploring the beautiful Loire. Onzain (about a 5 minute drive away) has a good large supermarket with fuel station close by. There is also a very good butchers and bakers closer in the next village. We caught the train from Onzain and had a fabulous day in Tours, this station is also on the main rail route to Amboise, Blois and even Paris! A very happy holiday and we would love to return one day.

My family of 5 just had an amazing trip to the Loire Valley and we stayed in this beautiful Gite. Nathalie was wonderful to work with. She showed us around the home and provided information about places to eat, things to do and local grocers for supplies. The rooms are huge and each had their own shower. There are two toilets, one on the main floor and one on the upper floor. The Kitchen is well-equipped and there is a large living area. In addition, there is a beautiful terrace to sit outside and enjoy a meal and glass of wine. The local restaurant is in walking distance and has excellent food. I highly recommend this Gite when staying in the Loire Valley.

Nathalie was lovely to work with and her home was beautifully decorated and our stay was very comfortable. The house is even better than the pictures! The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to hop around to the chateaus in the area via our rental car (rental car is a must if you choose this location). The lack of air conditioning did make it a bit warm but we were also visiting in July. The patio was enchanting and we enjoyed being able to enjoy meals outside. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this rental! Thank you, Nathalie!

Nous avons passé de très bons moments au Gite de la Boussole de Veuve. Tout d’abord, Nathalie nous a très bien accueilli et bien informé sur tous les attraits touristique de la région et a répondu avec diligence à nos demandes. Ce gite est très pratique et très propre, superbement décoré, tout équipé pour cuisiner et passer du bon temps en famille. Nous étions 5 et nous avions beaucoup beacoup de place avec 3 grandes belles chambres et c’est très pratique d’avoir chacun sa douche et lavabo. Également il y a une superbe terrasse pour lire un bon livre tranquille ou manger en famille. Ce gite est idéalement situé pour visiter la région de la Loire et ses beaux châteaux. Il est tout près de l’épicerie(4km) et de la coquette ville d’Amboise qu’il faut absolument visiter. Tous les châteaux sont à l’intérieur de 45 minutes. Chambord étant le plus éloigné mais la majorité sont à l’intérieur de 20-30 minutes, Nous étions supposés restés 3 jours mais nous sommes restés 4 jours tellement nous étions bien dans ce gite. Loved our stay in Veuves at this wonderful apartment. The "gite" was beautifully furnished, the kitchen was well-stocked and everything was sparkling clean. With two bedrooms upstairs and a third bedroom downstairs, each with its own shower and sink, the layout was perfect for our family of 5. Veuves is very peaceful and the apartment felt secluded and private. Wonderful terrace which is great for lunch or dinner. Great location for visiting the chateaus and sites in the area. Our hosts were very generous with their time and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants, wine tasting and things to do in the area. We would recommend the apartment without hesitation.

Beautiful, perfectly renovated cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nathalie has created a welcoming cottage for visitors. We stayed three days but I wish we had stayed a week. The location is great for exploring the Loire valley. Don't miss the restaurant in the village. The meal we had was the best we had on our entire trip(maybe my entire life). We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of roosters and cows.

After eight days in London and Paris, this beautifully restored barn was exactly what our family needed. We stayed with our four children aged 8-1 and enjoyed every minute. Nathalie and Tanguy are absolutely wonderful hosts. They are kind, concerned and very helpful. We were only here for three days and wish we would have stayed a week! Perfect place for a getaway. The small courtyard is so cozy and welcoming. The kitchen is fully stocked. Having a washing machine was great. But their beautiful restoration and kindness make this home PERFECT. It's a must see! Un séjour au calme, dans une maisonette très bien décorée et tout confort !! Des petites attention pour le bien être partout. Une cuisine super bien équipée (lave vaisselle, bouilloire , four, micro ondes , plein de couverts , de tasses , ect ) Bref, maisonnette atypique , dépaysement garantie. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir ! Une communication avec la propriétaire (tres sympathique) parfaite du début à la fin !! Un accueil et un départ très très bien organisés et le tout dans la bonne humeur ! Je recommande vivement ce nid douillet au cœur des châteaux de la Loire ( lieu idéal au milieu pour pouvoir visiter ) Merci Nathalie et un grand merci à Père castor (serge)

Il s'agit de notre meilleure location, propre, spacieuse, parfaitement équipée. L'accueil et l'échange avec la propriétaire étaient chaleureux. Cette dernière a un goût incontestable pour la décoration. Vous serez charmés. L'emplacement est parfait pour de nombreuses visites. Il ne faut pas hésiter une seconde !
