Very pleasant, relaxed French seaside town with good selection of small shops, a daily indoor/weekly outdoor market, bars & restaurants, promenade and sandy beach. Fort Boyard can be seen from the seafront. Nice beach to lie/play on but it is sheltered so no big waves. Plenty of places to visit nearby - we went to La Rochelle on the bus and drove to Ile de Re. Appartment is well located, appointed and maintained. Sofa bed was comfortable and easy to fold away. We ate on the balcony each day (which has a sea view) so didn't use the table in the living room.
