About this house rental
"Star of the Sea" is a 4 Bdrms./3.5 baths home offering "free heated" pool (one filled propane tank per visit) with new booking of 5 nights or longer during May and June of 2025. This house is on a CORNER directly across street from ocean with unobstructed views and private beach access. Ocean Blvd. W. -- 1/2 mile from bridge with option for heated private pool. The direct beachfront view is totally wide open with no obstructions. You literally watch the waves pound the sands of the surf! There are wrap around decks (from front to back on both floors)! Sit on front porch watching and listening to the waves crashing on the sand directly in front of you. You can also sit on covered back porch overlooking pool and watch the boats pass by on the Intercoastal waterway.
A great bonus for the family... if the beach is too hot or crowded, head to your own swimming retreat in the privacy fenced back yard oasis. Relax by the pool in a tranquil environment, swim a few laps, or even play some pool basketball in one of the largest pools on the island of Holden Beach!
Parking with 2 sides under home for cars and then head to the coral door which leads you to your haven for the week. Choose from one of two bedrooms facing beach or one of the two in the rear (one overlooking pool). Two of the four bedrooms even have a wraparound porch along the entire side of house with northern end overlooking pool. Third level has an open floor concept with half bath/Living Room/Dining Room, Kitchen bar-center island workspace, and large kitchen fully stocked with dishware, glasses, tools, pots, and pans.... a spacious pantry for storage as well. Enjoy the massive front porch on this level with view of ocean or walk around the deck to the covered back porch overlooking pool.
TVs with cable in each room and living area. Books/games for kids and the family available as well. Beach/pool toys in lower outdoor closet for your use ---just remember to clean them before putting back in closet. WiFi is high speed throughout the home.
Pool is cleaned once a week and monitored mid-week (if you desire additional pool monitoring/cleaning, for additional fee). This is one of the largest pools on the island and can be heated.....INQUIRE FOR COST OF HEATING AT TIME OF BOOKING.
This home is located on a corner lot and is fairly close to main entrance onto island of Holden Beach and is within 1/2 -3/4 mile to Children s Park, Basketball courts, Holden Beach Chapel, Town Hall, Post Office, and 3 restaurants (located on island). The pier is just down the road approx. 1 mile. Several other restaurants, water slides, putt-putt golf, shops, ice cream parlors just across bridge. Holden Beach Island is a wonderful and fun-filled place to create memories for families while reminiscing those days of summer vacations.

The property was fantastic! The side porch was the perfect spot to relax in the morning with a cup of coffee or play games after a long day at the beach. Rooms were spacious and there was plenty of places to gather with family or sit quietly and read a book. Bedrooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable. The pool is large with plenty of seats to lounge. The property was exactly as advertised. The host was always available to ask questions and offer recommendations. Loved how centrally located the property was to the restaurants. We could easily hop in our bikes and ride to grab lunch at Mermaids or Italian ice. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect Family Beach Vacation Rental!!!We had an amazing stay! It was the perfect setup for two families, with plenty of room for our group of 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 2–6). Everyone had their own space, and the home was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. I think they own every kitchen gadget you could think of.One of the biggest highlights was the heated pool. After long days at the beach, the kids loved coming back to swim, and it quickly became a favorite part of the trip.The beach access couldn't have been more convenient—just across the street. Even better, the host provided everything needed for a fun and easy beach day, including beach chairs, a wagon, a small shade umbrella, and more toys than we could count. It made packing so much easier and allowed us to travel lighter.What really stood out was how much the host cared about her guests. We rented a golf cart during our stay, and the rental company accidentally forgot to provide a charging cable. When we mentioned the issue, the host immediately offered to drop one off for us. That level of responsiveness and thoughtfulness showed how committed she is to making sure her guests have a wonderful experience.We highly recommend this property to families looking for a relaxing, fun-filled beach vacation and can’t wait to stay here again!

Location was great, pool and deck were wonderful! Size of the home was perfect for us; 7 adults and 2 infants. Bedrooms and Beds were comfortable. Upper interior living space was great. The mgmt was awesome, professional and quick to respond! However a few improvements owner should consider:
1. Better cleaning in between guests and during off season
2. Ceiling fans were very dirty
3.Better dusting/vacuuming of furniture and bedrooms. Master bdrm phone on the night stand was very dirty and dusty, master bath needed a better cleaning.
3. Carpeting and upholstered furniture were dirty
4. Interior needs painted
5. Would be nice to have better front deck furniture besides 2 plastic rocking chairs.
The property looked a little tired and worn.
6. Side note: It would be nice if we didn’t have to put the sheets on the bed and if a starter kit for dish soap, dishwashing soap and laundry detergent were provided.
Again, great location and the mgmt was awesome!
