Chillingham Cottage is not a cottage on a farm but in a Caravan & Holiday Cottages Park.

Although a bit cramped for four adults (a small second room with bunk beds), the cottage itself is comfortable and tidy and it has a nice terrace.

But the description of the surroundings creates false expectations and is downright misleading. Bluebell Farm once was a farm, but is now a holiday park. The full name is Bluebell Farm Caravan Park & Holiday Cottages: see photos of the two side views and the entrance. It's a mix of closely spaced caravans and cottages. None of the photos of the owner or agency suggests this: misleading information, indeed. Birds are quite pleasant, but dozens of caged exotic birds in aviaries behind the hedge just a few meters from the cottage are disturbing, especially when the birds start chirping from 4.30 a.m. onward. We would like to request to describe the surroundings of the cottage as it really is and spell out the name in full, so that no one is misled. If we had got the right information, we would never have booked the cottage.

Pleasant stay in Northumberland

Only 5 miles from Bamburgh, lovely little stream outside of the property. Good position in the village, opposite a co op and near a couple of pubs.

The cottage could have been a bit cleaner. It smelt of smoke when we arrived and neither of us smoke, although it did have a no smoking sign up , it seems some people must just ignore it.

quiet, peaceful and relaxing.

I loved the sound of the running stream in front of the cottage and watching the birds on a morning. For us as a family found it peaceful and relaxing. The birds wolf whistling was so funny. pleasant village, coop and fish shop close by. Holy Island, Bamburgh castle and seahouses are only a short drive away.

The cottage was a little tiered in areas. The bathroom hot tap is loose and the kitchen tap drips. I had to give the downstairs floor a good sweep when I arrived, the fire hadn’t been cleaned and we were covered in dog hair from the cushions on the sofa. just a little attention to detail is needed. Apart from that we had a lovely stay.

The location was central to most places. Everything you would want or need. Quiet location and particularly liked the wild life of ducks, swans and rabbits, which roamed about.
