The little chalet may be small, but it is deceptively well equipped for two! Clearly a lot of careful thought went into it's conception, making it the perfect base to explore this beautiful part of France. Monika and Rene are the most charming of hosts, and will do all they can to make your stay as carefree as possible. They were very tolerant of our poor French! Les Houches may be small but boasts some good eating experiences and the new micro-brasserie is well worth a visit for both ale and food. We cycled for a lot of our stay. Chamonix is within easy reach, and with a little more effort, so is the Swiss border via le Col des Montenets. We also made the effort to go through the tunnel to Courmaeyer - but if tempted be prepared for at least an hour queuing in both directions. The walking is superb, and as for the massive overwhelming views..... We certainly aim to return one day. Fantastic.

The owners Rene and Monika make sure you have everything you need. The chalet is charmingly rustic with shutters opening onto a stunning view. You sleep on a sofa bed which is very comfortable and all else is to hand. There are fabulous walks nearby and plenty to see and do in the area. There is even a free ticket for the Mont Blanc Express which has a free car park at the bottom of hill. We loved riding on it to reach beautiful walks, Chamonix and the Mer de Glace funicular train.

The mazot is very compact but it's warm and comfortable, works perfectly and is equipped with everything you need for your stay. Monika and Rene are very welcoming and helpful. The situation is simply magnificent with stunning views across the valley to the Chamonix Aiguilles and the approaches to Mont Blanc. We had a great week, including visits to Montenvers on the tramway, Le Brevent by bubble and Telepherique and took the Mont Blanc Express to Marigny in Switzerland for the day. A tip about the Mont Blanc Express; you change trains at Vallorcine on the Swiss / French border. Use your Chamonix Valley residents card/s to travel free on the train to Vallorcine on the French side and buy your ticket for the Swiss journey on the train.

The property is petit and full of character has everything you need. We stayed with our two Jack Russell's , eating in a number of times. The property warm and cosy. Lovely walks and close to the station for access to the village or Charmonix and further. My husband enjoyed skiing in Les Houches and Charmonix. The views from the cabin are amazing of the mountains. A real little treasure of a place!

Our stay was amazing. Monika could not be anymore helpful. She was a great host and was always happy to help. The cabin is in a idyllic location and has lots of charm. Nice to walk back in the dark and stumble across a herd of wild deer on many nights. The holiday was fantastic and would recommend the cabin.

I stayed at this cottage with my partner for a whole week and I have to say that our stay was really amazing. The cottage itself is small and cosy but has everything you need including a fully equipped kitchen. The most amazing part of our stay was the view. Looking at the French alps from the window was absolutely breathtaking. In addition monika and rene were very helpful and did every they could to make our trip amazing.

Staying at the chalet is a sweet reminder that simplicity is the pathway to the better life. The accomodations offers everything that one may need. A perfect hideaway with a mesmerizing view. On top of it all, the host, "Monik" is a sparkling gem: thank you! And our choice to stay off the beaten path offered us the ability to understand everything better. Kan varmt rekommendera detta fina lilla hus. Fantastiskt läge och ett hus där allt fanns som du behöver. Bodde här i 3 veckor och fick ett sånt fint bemötande av värdparet Monika och René. Väldigt omtänksamma och smidiga. Hit kommer jag gärna tillbaka!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce Mazot idéalement situé sur les hauteurs des Houches entre la gare 10min à pied, le centre en 15/20 minutes de marche et les itinéraires de rando directement accessibles. Le Mazot est à l image de ses propriétaires : authentique et chaleureux. Le petit jardin est un vrai plus, la vue y est à couper le souffle.

Formidable séjour, surprenant et douillet

Le chalet des Suzor nous a enchantés! Il est coloré, douillet, surprenant et extrêmement bien aménagé! On pourrait croire qu'il est petit mais en fait, il y a des quantités de rangement (tiroirs, penderie, porte-serviettes, placards etc.) alors les affaires ne traînent pas. La cuisine est très bien équippée, il n'y manque rien (grille-pain, cafetière, fours, essoreuse à salade, râpe à fromage, ciseaux etc.). Nous avons adoré pouvoir profiter du jardin après nos randonnées. Les Suzor sont vraiment accueillants et ont le souci de faire en sorte que notre séjour se passe au mieux. Monika est disponible et très chaleureuse. La région est magnifique. De nombreuses randonnées partent de la maison. Le Brévent offre une vue imprenable sur le Mont-Blanc. Les sentiers sont variés, entre rocaille et prés fleuris. Nous n'avons pas vu de marmottes mais nous avons vu des chamois et des gypaètes barbus. Une prmière pour nous! Nous retournerons aux Houches et chez les Suzor avec grand plaisir!

C'est un magnifique petit chalet, chaleureux, convivial, confortable, un cocooning où il fait bon vivre. Avec un décor et une ambiance vraiment montagnarde. Un accueil formidable, extraordinaire, avec des propriétaires très agréables et très sympathiques. Un moment incroyable, à ne pas manquer. C'est un endroit calme, reposant où l'on peut profiter d'un paysage splendide, avec vue sur le mont blanc. Un moment merveilleux, fantastique pour profiter en famille. Merci beaucoup à vous. 14 Tage war das zweckmäßig eingerichtete, liebevoll gestalte und robuste "kleine Häuschen" unser Zuhause. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und waren von dem Ausblick auf die schneebedeckten Berge begeistert. Die Möglichkeit der freien Zugfahrt im Tal haben wir reichlich genutzt. Wij hebben enorm genoten van het weekje in Les Soldanelles. Een ontzettend gezellig, sfeervol huisje. Ondanks dat het klein is, is alles aanwezig wat je nodig hebt, het is tot de puntjes ingericht. De ontvangst was heel hartelijk, we voelden ons gelijk thuis. Aan het begin van de week was de weervoorspelling niet best, elke dag zouden we regen krijgen. Nu aan het einde terugkijkend viel het heel erg mee, 1 dag regen, verder droog, de laatste 2 dagen zelfs stralend zonnig en blauw! We hebben lange wandelingen gemaakt in de omgeving, prachtig die uitzichten op de besneeuwde toppen. Onze hond Flow heeft zich ook prima naar haar zin gehad. Dank voor de gastvrijheid!

Wit haben eine Woche lang sehr genossen von das Häuschen. Alles is da was Mann bracht, die Ausblick aus dass Fenster ist fenomenal und vond der Terasse aus um so besser! Alles war sauber, dass Bett war gut und die gastfreundschaft von Herr und Frau Suzor ist sehr gut, sie spricht sogar Deutsch. Empfehlenswert!
