We had the most wonderful week at Aline and Max’s gite. The photographs do not do the place justice; it is a really beautiful house and the grounds are so pretty, with hydrangeas in bloom and views of the chateau’s outbuildings. The swimming pool is fabulous, we all loved spending time in the pool and on the loungers in the walled garden. The children in our party loved building dens in the bamboo forest too. We enjoyed many evenings cooking a bbq and eating at the large table in the shade of the bamboo. The large kitchen provided everything we needed. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated in a typically French style and provided ample space for 12. The bathrooms were very nice too. We really appreciated the downstairs en-suite bedroom for my parents. Walks down to the river from the gite were lovely and provided many wildlife-spotting opportunities. The area around the gite is great too- so close to supermarkets and pretty towns and villages. We will be returning for sure! Many thanks to Aline for her hospitality.

We had a fantastic week and Aline was very friendly and accomodating. The house was perfect for our family and the kids loved the pool which is all enclosed for safety. The house had plenty of room for large groups like ours and the supermarket was 5 mins drive up the road which was really handy. There is a great patisere in the local town well worth a visit for some lovely fresh cakes.

We had a lovely stay with Aline in her very pretty cottage. There was a lot of room for everyone both inside and out. It was glorious weather so the garden and pool were ideal to relax in and the cottage was cool. We went for several walks in the woods when the weather was a little cooler so it was great to have it on our doorstep. We mostly liked the visits in the garden from the wild rabbits, the red squirrels and the woodpecker, not to mention the owls and bats at night time. Very peaceful break and having the Intermarche very close by was another bonus! Many thanks for a lovely stay with a lovely host!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Aline’s beautiful property. The photos don’t even do justice to the gorgeous house and grounds that suited our 2 families (including 5 children!) perfectly. The surrounding area is idyllic and a supermarket is very close by which made things very easy. Aline was a wonderful host and even went out of her way to help me when I needed to arrange a doctor apt for my little girl while we were there. We very much look forward to returning.

Our annual family holiday is a special occasion. It’s also a bit of a risk spending two weeks in a place that you’ve never visited. Our tick list has evolved over the years, with our priorities now being an enclosed garden for the dogs, ground floor accommodation for the parents and a swimming pool. This property ticks all the boxes and much more. Aline was a wonderful host from the outset. Communication before we arrived was easy and our questions were answered. During our stay Aline was on hand if we needed her, otherwise she allowed us to keep ourselves to ourselves. The house is beautiful, typically French with the usual fixtures and fittings you would expect. We had a couple of criticisms, one that there were only two toilets for the whole property. The other that there wasn’t enough comfy seating in the lounge. That aside it suited us perfectly and we actually spent most of our time outdoors anyway. The garden is huge and ideal for two dogs that need exercise. The pool and surrounding area is stunning, a real bonus. The property is set in the grounds of a chateau, idyllic. We certainly loved the location and would recommend it if you are looking for peace and quiet. In the day you could hear the peacocks whilst at night the owls came alive. There is a lovely little town just a couple of miles away, with the supermarket very close by. We enjoyed exploring other local towns and villages by car and bicycle. Thank you Aline for a lovely stay!

We had a relaxing week enjoying the pool, garden, woods and local area our young children really loved it. Aline was very helpful we adults were able to relax even with a 3 year old, 1 year old twins and an 18month old around!

A special place

We enjoyed a very relaxing, away from it all holiday in this lovely gite. The quiet and solitude, surrounding nature and the private pool made for a memorable holiday with family where we were able to truly switch off. Our dog loved the large garden that offered plenty of shade and is completely enclosed, as well as walking in the woods surrounding the property. The owners live in the chateau on the estate who were lovely and accommodating and not intrusive at all. The pool is fenced off from the main garden so very safe and secure for dogs and children. I enjoyed sitting outside on balmy nights waiting for the bats and owls to surface. The garden has a small bamboo forest with lots of nesting birds at this time of year and some lovely shrubs and flowers. It was a pleasure to observe the nature all around us. My only issue was a small amount of dust and cobwebs in some areas of the property like hard to reach plug sockets and bread baskets on top of the fridge. However this didn’t detract from what was a lovely stay and is the only thing that I could find fault with. The kitchen was very well equipped and beds comfortable. Note that if you intend to take your 4 legged friend they are not allowed in the pool though in case they tear the lining. Our pooch loves a swim which was a small disappointment but just meant we sunbathed in the garden instead of around the pool so he didn’t feel left out.

With its beautifully clean and sparkling pool which is just at the right temperature for a cooling swim and well maintained by the kind and attentive hosts; the well furnished rooms and comfy beds; all the kitchen equipment you could possibly need to cook a meal to enjoy at either of the outside tables placed in the shade of the huge bamboo grove-this is a very special property indeed. I wished our children were still young enough to play in the den made by the bamboo canes! Guests can feel very secure in the depths of the woods around, we didn’t bother locking the doors once! There is a railway track going through the estate but the sound of the trains isn’t at all disturbing. Cloyes itself is a charming and flowery little town with extensive well maintained public gardens and very helpfully a mini-supermarket open when everywhere else is firmly closed on a Sunday! There are plenty of interesting places to visit nearby and we saw lots of wildlife including a Scarce Swallowtail butterfly, an otter and a red squirrel. It’s nice to sit outside the house in the evening and watch the bats emerge and listen to the hooting of the owls. Altogether a restful and interesting holiday for young and old!

Stayed here for a week in August with our extended family and it was absolutely wonderful. Beautiful gite in a brilliant location! Max and Aline keep the property to such a high standard and couldn't do more for us while we stayed there. The pool was brilliant for the 4 children and we were very content just staying by the pool for days. Cloyes, the neighboring village, is extremely beautiful and has plenty to offer. The location of the Gite means that you can travel to many surrounding attractions easily. I would highly recommend this property and will hope to return in the future.

What a special place this is!!! As soon as we arrived we felt at home, the cottage itself is very spacious and decorated very well, what's also great is that the house remains very cool even during hot weather. The bedrooms and storage are excellent with separate bathrooms should you need to use them as well as offering a double ensuite bathroom on the ground floor location (but away from the living area). The garden is huge and private, it boasts a bamboo forest for kids to play in. There is a table tennis table, but we didn't get chance to use this as the kids spent most of the time near the pool, which is secured by a fence and security code to enter the area. Max and Aline who own the property live in the Chateau located behind the cottage and are very hospitable, they made us feel at home and are genuinely very nice people who want to make sure you have a great holiday. The area itself is close to a number of tourist spots, but we spent most of the time near the pool, the villages nearby offer shopping etc and there are a number of supermarkets less than 5 miles away. In short we had a great time, and we will be going back....I would definitely recommend to anyone.

This place met most of our expectations, and exceeded the rest. A beautiful cottage, renovated really nicely inside, and set in unspoiled woodland. And with the pool fenced off from the rest of the large garden, a very safe place for children. We spent two peaceful weeks here, and hope to return. The pictures really don't do it justice. It's a wonderful place.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour avec un groupe de 10 amis. Le lieu est sublime (ancien prieuré), le gîte est spacieux, très bien équipé (magnifique piscine impeccable), confortable (excellente literie!), toutes les installations sont en parfait état et il régnait un calme royal. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Aline qui était disponible si besoin et flexible sur le départ et l’arrivée. Il y a tous les commerces nécessaires à 5 min en voiture. Les runnings/randonnées et balades à vélo sont partout au départ du gîte. Bref, rien à dire: top!

Très beau gîte spacieux avec beaucoup de cachet et très bien équipé tant à l'extérieur qu'à l'intérieur, situé au calme dans un cadre agréable. Les enfants et petits enfants, ainsi que nous-même, avons bien profité de la forêt, du jardin, de la très belle piscine et autres équipements : trampoline, balançoire, table de ping-pong et avons apprécié manger à l'ombre le la bambouseraie. Nous avons passé une excellente semaine en famille et nous espérons y revenir pour un prochain séjour. Les propriétaires sont d'une grande gentillesse et nous ont accueilli très chaleureusement. Nous avons passé une super semaine avec nos enfants et petits enfants dans ce joli gîte spacieux, très bien équipé et sécurisé dans un cadre très agréable en bordure de forêt. Nous avons pu profiter de la piscine et aussi de la bambouseraie située sur le terrain qui permet de manger à l’ombre et de se reposer dans un cadre atypique. Merci aux propriétaires et particulièrement à Aline pour son accueil, son écoute, sa gentillesse et sa réactivité. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir 😉

On se sent bien dans cette maison spacieuse au milieu d'un grand parc boisé. Tranquille, calme, très bien aménagée et équipée, tout est prévu dans cette maison pour passer un délicieux séjour en famille ou avec des amis. Grand jardin, piscine de bonnes dimensions, parfaitement sécurisée. Les chambres sont joliment mais sobrement meublées avec une bonne literie. Les salles de bains sont confortables. Nous avons passé un super week-end dans une très jolie maison de caractère: cuisine super bien équipée, nous avons adoré faire du feu dans la cheminée le soir. Les extérieurs sont magnifiques et super bien entretenus. La piscine sécurisée au top (merci beaucoup aux propriétaires d’avoir accélérer son ouverture pour que nous puissions en profiter). 5 belles chambres bien équipées, petit bémol sur le lit gigogne en mezzanine qui pourrait peut être être remplacé par un clic clac plus fonctionnel pour des adultes. Un grand merci aux propriétaires pour leur réactivité aux remarques de leurs clients( nous leur avons dit que nous avions eu un peu froid et sans qu’on leur demande il nous ont mis le chauffage....). Nous recommandons vivement ce magnifique gîte....

Aline et Max sont visiblement des gens généreux qui ont su aménager une très belle chaumière, vaste (5 grandes chambres, quand même), agencée de façon très pratique (rien ne manque) et avec beaucoup de goût. La "pièce à vivre" est vraiment grande et se partage naturellement entre salle à manger (10 à 12 p) et un salon confortable. Une grande cuisine où il fait bon prendre son petit-déjeuner (si il fait froid dehors). Une mention spéciale à la chambre du bas qui donne directement sur le jardin ... ! Nous avons pleinement profité des aménagements extérieurs, en particulier de la piscine (quasi olympique !) mais aussi du pré avec sa bambouseraie centrale : Ping-pong, molki, pétanque, tout est possible tant l’espace devant la maison est vaste. Enfin, nous avons eu la chance de rencontrer Aline qui est une hôtesse très souriante et chaleureuse, nous la remercions encore pour son accueil. Bref, il faut revenir car pourquoi ne pas visiter les alentours ? Merci pour tout, Aline
