My stay here was heavenly…almost. There were so many great things about this stay, but just a few things that stopped it short of perfect.Pros: - The pool. I enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would! It was so refreshing and lovely, especially at the end of a long hot day. - Location. As others have noted, it’s just a few minutes from Saint Remy either on foot or by car. Saint Remy is just the right mix of lively but not too busy, and it’s very charming. Easy access to villages like Gordes, etc, too.- Private grounds. So many of the other rentals I looked at had shared grounds. Having the whole garden area to myself made the stay incredibly peaceful. - big comfy couch!- the place is well stocked.Cons:- The beds. I had a really hard time sleeping. The mattress in the main room is thin and there’s a big vertical bar that runs down the middle of the bed frame, which I could feel when I rolled over. The matress in the other room is thicker but hard and stiff.- the lawn (or lack of it). One of the main reasons I chose this place was that I wanted a nice grassy yard for my dog to run around in. Unfortunately, the little stones that in the pictures form a border around the grass now cover the whole yard. There is no grass at all and the stones are very sharp and pointy and brutal on doggy (and human!) feet! - the stairs are so much steeper than they look, and there is only a rope for railing. The top step in particular is very high.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this house. It has everything you need and is just a 15 minute walk into St Remy. Lots of places to visit, great restaurants and wonderful walks close by with the dog. The host is very hands off which suits us. The 4 weeks there passed quickly and our dogs had free run of the enclosed outside area.

We were three friends having a remarkable good time either hanging out at the farmhouse or going into town on foot. This is prime sight seeing. The market is great. Biking is great here. The furnishings are comfortable. If the kitchen is a little funky, get with the mood of the place. I would not change anything. The host is very responsive. I made the mistake of NOT asking him to meet me a place where he could lead me to the Mas. Getting to the property was a terrible experience even with GPS and it is so near to town! No addresses or street marking in town so the locals have to verify the street.

Fantastic stay in well located traditional property

All 4 adults and both dogs loved this property. Small enclosed garden with a plunge pool. Lots of walking with the dogs and only 10 minutes on foot into town. The only downside was the weather - far too hot but 2 aircon units helped. Erich was a brilliant host - there when needed and only once seen to check on the pool. Final clean included in the price was a real bonus. I could not recommend this more highly for a relaxing taste of traditional French life.

We had a couple of glitches at first (as you would with any vintage property) but Eric was very responsive and eager to ensure we had a good experience. A really beautiful house and only a hirteen minute walk to St Remy - you cannot beat that! My family and I had a wonderful month there.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at this property. It was rustic in its charm as well as having all the amenities we needed, even Netflix ! It was well located only a10 min walk into the centre. Eric was very helpful and welcoming.

We enjoyed our week in St. Remy, but were disappointed by the property and wondered why there had been so many positive reviews. Yes, it is rustic, but it should still be well equipped and functional. To note that the toilet and sink had been reported broken by a traveller in April, we were shocked to find it still broken as well as the toilet door handle to add to it. It is not okay for the owner to use a chalk board in the kitchen to write down the problems if there is not a clear undertaking of solving them. The lighting in the property is poor and some aspects unsafe (landing at the top of the stairs). The main bedroom door would not close and was glass paneled - not ideal. We could also hear every move our son made in the loft room. There is no doubt that the owner is a nice man, and was good enough to buy us a kettle for the kitchen; but having experienced many other properties, this was very overpriced to the point where we felt slightly ripped off, and it was absolutely evident that no money from the rental was being reinvested in the property. Positively, the garden was lovely if not a little tired, and we tended to spend all our time out there as the house was so dingy downstairs. It needs investment in new electrics, decent lighting, a new toilet and kitchen appliances and generally some tender loving care.

This was exactly the kind of authentic mas I was looking for with tile floors, stone walls and big, sunny windows upstairs. It is about a 10 minute walk from the heart of town, and it has a lovely courtyard with a big tree and tables for enjoying dinner or wine and cheese on beautiful Provence evenings. Eric was very helpful both with finding the mas (which I found a little challenging at first) and with my French, which improved in the 5 weeks I stayed there. If you want to experience St.-Remy without the glitz, this is perfect.

We found this perfect little spot by coincidence, and what a found! Due to rain in Italy, we quickly goggled "something" in France where the weather was brilliant. We found this, and called Cecille and Eric emediately, and it was available. We drove from Italy and 750km to Provence - And that saved our holiday! We arrived to this cosy little apartment right next door to the hosts - Cecille and Eric, who received us late Tuesday evening. Nice, smiling, helpful and happy people. The place is really really nice and cosy. It had everything you need on a vacation. 5 minutes walk to the centre of Saint Remy in the middle of the most beautiful nature with fields, mountains and a lot of history - a painting-come-to-live area. The whole area has this wonderful fragrance of lavender. Thank you for a nice holiday at you place. We come back again some time soon. Henriette & Kasper, Denmark.

A really relaxing retreat

This cosy apartment, run by Cecille, Eric and their two delightful children, is an ideal base for touring this area of Provence. It is well-equipped and has a wonderful feeling of tranquility and freedom you don't find in B&Bs or hotels. It had everything we needed for enjoying breakfasts and dinners in the garden and the background noise of the lapping water from the small pool added to the ambient tranquility. There are so many places to visit from here. No need to walk far to get to a lovely lake and some stunning Greco-Roman remains. For the culture buffs, St Paul's clinic, where Van Gogh spent a year painting, is very close by and Aix and Avignon have wonderful churches/museums. Hilltop towns are withing an hour's drive and the history attached to them is amazing. Cecille also has bikes for hire and it's fun to cycle round the peripheral canalway. We had a great day by the sea and really enjoyed the boat trip up the Rhone, which you can do from St-Maries-de-la-mer. We found many of the restaurants in the old town a bit over-priced (le bistro de Marie being one of the culprits) but enjoyed a meal at The Olivade on rue du Chateau. Seek out Fanny's in a courtyard just off the 'ring road'; it's good value and the service is pleasant. The market in St Remy on Wednesdays is brilliant and starting off with breakfast at Cafe de la Bourse, where the waiter tells you you can bring your own croissants if they've run out, is a good choice. Another advantage to this accommodation is that it's a pleasant walk into town - no more than 10 minutes. So, it's convenient but quiet. We've had lots of self-catering holidays in France and we can honestly say that this was one of the best from many points of view. We would recommend this place to stay but a word of caution - the stairs up to the bedroom might pose problems for those who are unsteady on their pins. They are more like a ladder than a staircase and as the loo is on the ground floor, you need to be careful in the night! It wasn't an issue for us (and we're in our 50s/60s) but it might be for some people. Cecille and family will make you feel welcome without being intrusive so go and enjoy!

Mauvaise literie, déco brocante incohérente et envahissante et intérieur à rénover de manière profonde. Accueil du propriétaire très sommaire uniquement par téléphone. Joli jardin avec beau bassin mais envahi d’objets et de fauteuils pour la plus part cassés. Dommage car une bonne rénovation pourrait en faire un endroit agréable. Nous ne passerons plus par Abritel pour une location après cette deuxième mauvaise expérience sur ce site.

Surpris de ne pas voir les hôtes de tout le voyage (première pour moi), ce fût finalement une bonne surprise car Denise et Eric ont été aux petits soins, soucieux pour tout, n'hésitant pas à me relancer au milieu du séjour pour savoir si l'on ne manquait de rien. Merci à eux (ils m'ont même renvoyé des clefs que j'avais oubliées à leur frais). Concernant le logement, il est très charmant. La piscine doit être agréable l'été même si un peu petite (pas de possibilité de nager réellement) mais top pour des enfants. Quelques petites déceptions mineures: pas assez de couverts, 6 ou 7 couteaux par exemple uniquement avec un lave vaisselle qui ne marche pas bien. 2 bols uniquement. Un four micro onde qui ne s'arrête jamais. Point d'amélioration je pense pour se sentir un peu plus chez soi. Il manque une douche idéalement mais bon on peut faire sans. Ajouter un mode d'emploi pour les chauffages à ventilation. Le ménage est correct mais sans plus. Le sol etait particulièrement sale, les pieds noirs après y avoir marché à pieds nus quelques temps. Gros point dur pour moi: aucune intimité dans la chambre parentale car aucune isolation phonique avec le haut où sont les enfants. Mais cest vrai que c'est aussi le charme des vieilles maisons... En conclusion, bonne location qui demanderait un tout petit plus d'implication pour être parfaite. Je recommande tout de même.

Sehr hübsches rustikal-romantisches altes Steinhaus mit guter Lage zur Stadt. Vieles ist sehr liebevoll gestaltet, Die Voraussetzungen für einen schönen Urlaub sind da. Besonders schön auch das kleine Abkühlbecken im Garten. Leider haben wir uns erstmals bei einer Buchung über FeWo-direkt über einige Details geärgert: Tropfendes Waschbecken auf der Toilette, defekte Toilettenbrille, defekte Klinken an Türen und Fenster. Im Bad regnet es rein. Fehlende Absturzsicherung an den Treppen. Durchgebrannte Steckdose im Schlafzimmer, kaputtes Gartenmobiliar etc. Wir haben dem sehr netten Betreuer vor Ort auf die Mängel hingewiesen, Abhilfe wurde versprochen.

It was not possible for us to keep warm in this house. Even though there are free standing heaters and an open fire. The whole family was to cold to stay the week and left early smelling of smoke, like we had been on a scout camp. Overall the house needs updating, old kitchen equipment, loose toilet seat, water leaking from sink in the toilet. The house has fresh bathroom and a lovely enclosed courtyard, however the outside furniture is old and BBQ rusty. With a little more care this could be a nice house to stay in and it is an easy 10 minute walk to Remy.

tolles haus mit viel cachet, gemütlicher garten mit einem kleinen pool, in dem unsere kinder bereits im april viel gebadet haben, den ganzen tag sonne, abends auf der windgeschützten terasse essen... was will man mehr! wir haben es sehr genossen und eric war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. es gibt in der umgebung viel zu sehen: schöne dörfer, avignon, les alpilles, saint-rémy-de-provence, meer... gerne wieder!!!

Wir waren im April 2017 zu fünft in diesem charmanten Haus. Der wunderschöne Innenhof ist von einer riesigen, alten Platane beschattet, was sicher im Hochsommer ein besonderer Vorteil ist. Wir fanden aber auch immer einen Platz in der Sonne, wenn es - im April - im Schatten einmal zu kühl war. Der Pool war in dieser Jahreszeit noch zu kalt, trotzdem war er für unsere drei Kinder ein toller Ort zum Spielen und Experimentieren. Das Haus bot für uns alle genug Platz, wir fanden es gemütlich eingerichtet und haben nichts vermisst. Der Vermieter Eric wäre für uns jederzeit erreichbar gewesen, wir hatten aber keinerlei Bedarf. Er hatte uns auch mit Brennholz versorgt, damit wir den Kamin befeuern konnten, was wir bei heftigem Mistral in der zweiten Woche auch gemacht haben, als es trotz strahlend blauen Himmels deutlich kühler wurde. So hatten wir es dann auch schön warm. In Reserve gibt es im Haus noch zwei elektrische mobile Heizkörper. Besonders gefreut haben sich unsere Kinder über den täglichen Besuch einer Katze, die Dank der Geduld der Kinder immer zutraulicher wurde. Die Lage des Hauses ist toll. Es liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Kanal, an dem man in ca. 10 Min. ins Zentrum von St. Rémy laufen kann. St. Rémy haben wir schon zum dritten Mal als Urlaubsbasis gewählt - zum einen, weil wir den Ort so mögen, zum anderen, weil die Lage einfach großartig ist. Es gibt in einem kleinen Radius so viele Dinge zu sehen und entdecken, dass wir in 2 Wochen Urlaub jeden Tag etwas unternommen haben, ohne je mehr als 45 Min Anfahrt. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Haus guten Gewissens weiter empfehlen.

Avec pas mal de retard et nous nous en excusons, nous tenions tout de même à laisser une appréciation car ce mas et ses propriétaires le méritent!! Superbe mas!! Très bien situé au cœur de St Rémy mais au calme. Il est typique et très très joli, bien aménagé, il ne manque rien! Vous trouverez du linge de maison à disposition, tout est très propre et bien décoré. Nous avons reçu un super accueil de la part d'Eric qui nous avait fait un petit feu d'accueil pour notre arrivée! Il nous a donné de bons conseils et tuyaux, il est très gentil, disponible, flexible et généreux! Quant à Denise, elle est très gentille, arrangeante et réactive! Grâce à eux, nous avons passé un excellent séjour!! Ce mas est un vrai petit cocon et nous nous sommes senti comme à la maison! La terrasse est très agréable aussi. Et évidemment, la région est magnifique, il y a tellement de belles choses à découvrir... Alors vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés! Nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir!! Encore un grand merci à Denise et Eric et à la prochaine fois!! ;-)

Sehr schönes, sehr altes provençalisches Steinhaus mit einem fantastischen und liebevoll gestalteten Garten inkl. kleinem Pool. Das Haus bietet alles, was man für einen schönen Urlaub benötigt, wenn auch nicht luxuriös. Ausgesprochen nette, unkomplizierte und hilfsbereite Vermieter. Die Lage des Hauses ist idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge mit dem Rad, zu Fuß oder dem Auto, um die Umgebung und die Provence zu entdecken. Für Familien mit Baby und/oder Kindern geeignet, da gut hierfür ausgestattet (Babybett, Kinderstuhl, Kinderzimmer etc.)
