About this apartment rental
At an altitude of 600 meters above the east coast of Corsica, overlooking the Tuscan islands Montecristo, Elba and Capraia our apartments are located on the edge of a typical Corsican mountain village.
Located on the 1st floor of our 500 year old house, the apartment offers comfortable space for 2 to 4 people (50 square meters).
It has a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, etc., a bathroom with shower and toilet, and a spacious bedroom with double bed.
From your apartment, you will enjoy beautiful views of the coast and the Corsican mountains. On clear days you can even make out the Italian coast on the horizon. Just a few steps away from the house is the private guest terrace with garden furniture and a barbecue.
The historic region of Castagniccia, which is dominated mainly by its wide range of chestnut trees, offers its visitors endless hiking possibilities up to an altitude of about 1800 meters.
Hike on well marked trails through a gorgeous natural landscape to abandoned villages, waterfalls and old mills. Cool then your tired feet in one of the clear mountain streams. Or visit the interesting cultural history museum in the old episcopal town Cervioni.
A special attraction is every year the blossom of fruit trees in spring; in September and October you can easily gather chestnuts for dinner on a hike.
Our apartments are situated just about 9 km away from the main artery of Corsica, which runs along the east coast, between the mountains and the sea. There are excellent hiking possibilities many of which begin the front door of our house. On the other hand, the beach is only 9 km away.
Due to the short distance to the tourist centers of the east coast with their great touristical infrastructure and various offers for water sports and -leisure we can promise both hiking and mountain friends, as well as beach lovers a relaxing holiday.
During your absence we offer to look after your children if you are planning longer hikes or a cozy evening for two at one of the local restaurants. Depending on the age of the children we felt together, picnic, play, etc.
Please note that at our place you will depend on a car of your own or a rental car. At Bastia-Poretta airport you will find all car rental companies.

Wir (Familie mit einem 12 jährigen Sohn) haben hier einige schöne Tage mit Wandern und Baden im nahen Meer verbracht. Der Ort drohnt oben am Berg und gibt wunderbare Blicke aufs Meer frei. Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und besorgt, dass es an nichts fehlt. Eine Empfehlung für alle Korsika Freunde mit Spass am Wandern und ohne Angst auch enge Serpentinien den Berg hoch und runter zu fahren.

Die nächtliche Anfahrt auf kurvnreicher Straße war eine echte Herausforderung, aber dank der exzellenten Wegbeschreibung der Gastgeber gut zu bewältigen. Zur Begrüßung bekamen wir sogar eine selbstgebackene Quiche und Wein, so dass wir entspannt in den Urlaub starten konnten. Die kleine Wohnung war liebevoll eingerichtet, das Kochen auf einem 2-Flammen-Elektrokocher war jedoch nur eingeschränktmöglich.. Dafür bekochten uns die Gastgeber - auf Wunsch - ganz ausgezeichnet. Wer Ruhe und sternenklare Nächte mit Blick auf Italien sucht, der wird hier voll auf seine Kosten kommen. Ein gut ausgeschilderter Rundwanderweg (sentier botanique) beginnt praktisch vor der Haustür. Ein bisschen unbequem ist die lange Anfahrt zum Strand und die fehlende Infrastruktur im Dorf, kein Bäcker, kein Restaurant, keine Bar. Man muss schon gut organisieren. ZUsammengefaast ein guter Ort zum Ausruhen und Kraft tanken ohne den sonst üblichen Touristenrummel.
Ein Quartier, das wir sofort wieder buchen würden.
