About this apartment rental
The beautiful house is located at the foot of the Pico, Portugal's highest mountain (2351m) with direct sea views of the Atlantic Ocean. Because of this sea view, you can observe whales and dolphins from the house during their hike. This country house was built around 1900 and completely restored in 1998, renovated and modernized. Thereafter, it was grown and maintained again and again (last 2018).
They either have the opportunity to have breakfast in front of the house outdoors or they go a few steps further and are on the patio. From there one has a direct view of the Atlantic Ocean and the unspoiled nature. Beautifully it is to sit in the evening on the terrace to look at the Atlantic and cook on the large brick barbecue Barbeque be while whales and dolphins are observed, pure nature. The large lava garden (about 800m2) with palm trees, hibiscus, jasmine, bananas, oranges, mandarins, limes, lemon cactus, succulents, azaleas, hydrangeas, etc. is a great place to relax (small pond made of lava stones with 2 goldfish also available )
The place is suitable as a starting point for island tours to see the wild hydrangeas, the clean villages, the pastures with the happy cows, the blue or green crater lakes. The temperate climate, the pure clean air without exhaust gases, provide relaxation of body and soul. The beautiful nature, is balm for the eyes and there are no poisonous or dangerous animals. Only nice helpful people.
You enter the apartment from the large garden area (approx 800m2) by a double door in the inviting lounge area with couch (sofa bed for child suitable) and single sofa bed and TV. The open kitchen has everything you need, 2 plates electric stove (gas stove banned since 1/2015) refrigerator, sitting area, bright kitchen. To the left of the living area is the bedroom, comfortably furnished with a French bed and a wooden wardrobe. Directly from the bedroom you will find the bathroom with shower ,.

Un très joli jardin très bien aménagé. Avec une vue sur la mer et le passage de baleines de temps en temps.
Environnement très calme
Bien placé pour visiter l’île.
et un grand merci à Véronique qui nous a accueillis chaleureusement et s'est toujours inquiétée de nos besoins pendant le séjour.
Et merci aux puffins qui n'oublient jamais de venir nous saluer au coucher et au lever du soleil

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt in unserem kleinen aber feinen Urlaubsdomizil. Veronique, die Nachbarin, hat sich ausgezeichnet um uns gekümmert und ein Problem, das aufgetaucht ist so schnell wir möglich und kompetent gelöst. Besonders gefallen hat uns der wunderschöne Lavasteingarten, das romantische Vogelgeräusch Abends und die liebe wilde Katze, die immer wieder zu Besuch war. Sie ist zuerst recht schüchtern, lässt sich dann aber sehr gerne verwöhnen und freut sich über Futter!

Vor der Hinreise haben wir bereits viele, hilfreiche Informationen von der Gastfamilie bekommen. Wir haben die Wohnung im Erdgeschoss bewohnt. Das kleine Wohnzimmer ist gemütlich mit Couch und Sesseln, das Bett im Schlafzimmer ist von guter Qualität. Das Bad mit Dusche und WC machte zunächst Probleme. da der Abfluss nicht gut funktionierte. Aber das hatte die uns betreuende, sehr nette Nachbarin im Nu im Griff. Die Küche ist für Selbstversorger sehr gut ausgestattet. Da wir mit dem Wetter sehr viel Glück hatten, konnten wir meistens draußen im Garten essen. Den Grill haben wir abends öfters gemeinschaftlich mit den Bewohnern der oberen Wohnung genutzt. Der Blick auf das Meer ist herrlich! Die Hängematte in dem traumhaften Naturgarten haben wir nach unseren Wanderungen ausgiebig genossen, besonders die Tage nach dem fantastisch schönen aber anstrengenden Auf-und Abstieg vom Pico!
Falls man die Insel erkunden will, ist ein Mietwagen unerlässlich. Die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel fahren meist zu ungünstigen Zeiten.
Wir haben sehr schöne Ferien verbracht und können die Wohnung durchaus weiterempfehlen!

The apartment is small and has all the basics you need.
From the small attractive subtropical garden you can see somewhat of the ocean.
Noise is absent! The very friendly neighbour received us so well, even with some food because we arrived late in the evening and she gave us all support whenever a question.
The only thing we regretted is that the apartment was equipped with cheap furniture and utensils and the television did not function when we wanted to see sports.
It was quiet a contrast with the part of the house above us, also belonging to the same owners, where the televison functioned and where the entire house was more elegant and everything of good quality.
Nevertheless we let not have this influence the quality of our holidays.
