Historical Portuguese lava stone building that has been completely modernized with all amenities without losing it's traditional charm. Quiet location in close proximity to natural lava pools. Hosts were wonderful to work and communicate with. When there was an issue with the plumbing it was resolved immediately. We were able to gain an appreciation for Portuguese culture. Local store nearby. A car is essential. Restful and relaxing. Great home base when touring the island.

Un très bel endroit pour passer quelques jours sur Pico. Cette maison traditionnelle et complètement rénovée, a un charme fou. Une terrasse permet de prendre ses repas face à l’océan et de rester se reposer sur des chaises longues. Elle est idéalement située à quelques mètres d’une piscine naturelle ouverte sur l’océan et un petit restaurant à tapas permet de finir la soirée de façon la plus agréable possible. Tout cela sans compter l’accueil très chaleureux de nos hôtes et du petit cadeau de bienvenue. Un endroit où il faut aller si vous allez sur l’ile de Pico.

Wir haben fast 10 Tage auf Pico in diesem sehr, sehr schönen Häuschen verbracht und hätten uns keinen schöneren Ort vorstellen können! Es ist sehr ruhig: abends hört man unter einem großartigen Sternenhimmel nur die Gelbschnabelsturmtaucher und das Meeresrauschen. Morgens wird man von Vogelgezwitscher geweckt. Die beiden Terrassen und der liebevoll angelegte Garten bieten viele Möglichkeiten mit hoher Aufenthaltsqualität. Alles auf Pico ist mit dem Mietwagen gut zu erreichen. Die ortsansässigen, sympathischen Vermieter teilen gerne die Marcujas aus dem Garten und ihre Tipps und Infos, was man wann unternehmen kann. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

What a wonderful house. This is a 2 bedroom, recently renovated traditional lava stone house, with modern amenities, situated on the north coast of Pico only 20 minutes’ drive from the airport, with views of the sea and Sao Jorge island from the outside terrace. It is ideally situated for visiting all the main attractions on the island, most of which are within a 30 minute drive. Just a short walk from the house is the village of Prainha with a supermarket, cafe and an excellent restaurant. Even closer, are some natural outdoor lava pools offering swimming and sunbathing.The house is spotless and decorated to a high standard with very good facilities; two outdoor terraces with stunning views, plenty of outdoor furniture, parking, washing machine and an outdoor cooking area. Manuela and Batista are wonderful hosts who provided a very warm welcome, meeting us at the house to show us around.We highly recommend this property.
