About this cottage rental
2 bedroom cottage (one with queen bed, one with two singles), fully equipped kitchen, portacrib and toddler's chair available, bath with shower, under eave seating in shade and picnic table in sun, direct access to Friends of Acadia trail, friendly dog allowed. Central to all aspects of Mt.Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Access to washer/dryer on premises. Very quiet and private location. We enjoyed living in this cottage for 3 years until we built a home on the property, 100 yards away and secluded from the cottage. Bar Harbor has it all: activities for kids and adults such as mountain climbing, boat rides, bicycling and hiking along the shore. An oceanarium, miniature golf, and a small waterpark are less than a twenty minute drive away.
The National Park Service organizes nature programs in the National Park for children and adults. Explore Bar Harbor's maritime setting, look for shells, sea glass, and starfish on MDI's ocean beaches. Swim in the crystal clear water of Echo Lake! Acadia Access Cottage is the perfect place to take advantage of all that Bar Harbor and MDI have to offer.
We do accept well behaved dogs but do ask that they either stay in a crate when owners are not with them in the cottage or you let us know that they are safe without a crate and will not cause any damage. We do ask for a $50 per pet charge to be paid upon arrival for the additional cleaning that is needed.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! It was our first time exploring the island so we weren't sure about the location but it worked out perfectly as our home base to explore. The cottage was extremely clean and my kids enjoyed the books and games. We hope to return someday!

We enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is thoughtfully designed and it is a wonderful base for exploring MDI. The hosts were welcoming in every way. We cannot wait to return!

Our family of 4 enjoyed Philip and Astri's lovely property. The cottage is in a convenient location and has all of the necessities for a relaxing vacation! The kitchen was well appointed. We loved being able to refill water bottles from the tap. Also, we liked having a washer and dryer. Internet access was good. The beds were comfortable for my kids. The queen bed is firm, good for my husband, I prefer a little softer mattress, but there were ample pillows and blankets to help. We were happy to have a place to store our bikes. My husband was able to access the carriage trails and the road to Cadillac mountain on his bicycle (He is an avid biker). To ride with the kids we loaded up the bikes and accessed the carriage trails from the Eagle Lake access point (only minutes away!) Small parking lot, lots of roadside parking. Highly recommend the Carriage Roads pocket guide sold at the Acadia visitor center. My kids enjoyed the foosball table and the fire pit. We roasted marshmallows and sat by the fire one night. We had a full, fun week with trips to Bar Harbor, a whale watching trip, a trip to Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Lobster rolls at the Travelin' Lobster, lots of hiking/biking and fun activities with the junior ranger program (highly recommend). The cottage was a great home base for all of our activities! Thank you!!

We had a great time in Bar Harbor and the cottage is fantastic. Beautiful and quiet location, very clean and spacious.
