In the heart of D-Day country stands this charming cottage, beautifully renovated by the friendly English owner. The house has modern features such as a terrace for sunbathing while harmonizing with the rural location. The local village, Ste. Marie-du-Mont, has a 13th century church. It was the first to be liberated after the D-Day landings and it has become one of the centers of celebrations each June. Honfleur, Dieppe and Rouen are easily accessible by car. With quiet beaches and breathtaking scenery, this is an ideal vacation spot for exploring this famous area.

Bien situé et au calme

Bien situé et au calme

Ayant réservé par Abritel, je pensais recevoir les informations par ce biais. Je n'avais pas le nom et le numéro de téléphone du propriétaire et l'adresse donnait un autre nom de rue. Bref impossible de trouver le gîte et avec le numéro de téléphone figurant sur Abritel, contact avec une interlocutrice anglaise ne parlant pas français et vous raccrochant au nez ! Il a fallu 24 heures pour trouver le lieu. Le propriétaire qui habite sur les lieux n'a jamais essayé de me contacter. Sinon, le gîte est tres bien situé à proximité d'Utah Beach. L'agencement est plaisant. Une grande chambre avec un lit double et une plus petite avec 2 lits et de bonnes literies. Le 5ème couchage annoncé est en fait un vieux lit sous la pente du toit en haut de l'escalier, inutilisable. En cuisine, la cuisinière et sa hotte sont vétustes et à changer. La batterie de cuisine également, le revêtement teflon étant très dégradé. Enfin, les couverts sont en nombre notoirement insuffisant. L'environnement extérieur est agréable et avec beaucoup d'espace. Pour les enfants il faut faire très attention à une mare non sécurisée donc en accès libre. Enfin, le propriétaire a un chien très sociable. Les 2 gîtes étant sur la propriété et l'un près de l'autre, notre chien et celui des autres occupants se sont bien entendus. Le propriétaire anglais a tout le flegme britannique et nous a donné des légumes de son jardin. Moyennant, une révision de la procédure d'arrivée et les changements en cuisine, je peux recommander cette location.
