About this cottage rental
The Space
The house is beautifully situated on a mountain alone. It is surrounded by little fields and fruit trees. The neighbors are Canarian farmers and very friendly. The house is simply furnished and decorated. The floors are old tiles and chipped here and there but it add to the caracteristics of the house. Our drinking water is osmosis water Which bedeutet, dass it is 5 times filtered and completely Call healthy.
There is room for 3 guests. The house consist of a kitchen and 2 big open space rooms. One of them is the living room and the other the sleeping room. The sleeping room has a double bed and so a second floor with another double bed. Detached from the house you find our lovely bathroom with a washing machine and surrounded with palm trees. In front of the kitchen is a covered terrace where you find a bench and a table where you can enjoy a from view over the valley and the mountains.
Guest Access
Guest have acces to the whole house and patio. The access to the house is through a little walking path 200 meters up the mountain Which might be difficult for some elderly people. But ofcourse we help you transport the luggage if neccesary. We offer wifi if you like to keep in touch with the outside world. We have no TV but many books in Dutch, German and English.
Interaction with Guests
I live on the Iceland for 25 years and I am living on 3 km distance of the house so I am available to answer any questions. I know a lot of beautiful spots on Gran Canaria. Many nice walks start Directly from the house. If you like I can pick you up from the airport and drive you to the house. We will charge you a small fee of 30 euro for the gasolina. Or you can take a taxi whichwill charge you 50 euros. I can give all information about renting a car, trips on the islands, nice beaches etc. I am near and easy to reach. If you have questions or need any help I am at your service.
The Neighbourhood
The view from the house is stunning. Directly from the house you can make beautiful walks. On 3 km distance is Santa Lucia. A village with 3000 inhabitans, bars and restaurants, some little shops and a nice Canarian museum.
Getting Around
We strongly advise you to rent a car! Directly on the airport are cheap possibilities. Because the Iceland has so many beautiful spots for Which you need a car to reach them. 20 minutes walk from the house there is busstop. Bus only drive a few times per day. The beach is 40 minutes driving away. The capital Las Palmas (really worth to visit) is 3 hours in a beautiful drive through the mountains. Or 40 minutes by the highway.
Other Things to Note
Enjoy nature! Around the house is a patio and a covered terras for the shadow. In summertime it can be very hot on the Iceland. Mostly it is verysilent you only hear the dogs bark once in a while When They get fed. The donkey's call and the roosters.

Sfeervol, prachtig gelegen. Behulpzame eigenaresse. Moeilijk toegankelijk (klimpartijtje), je gaat hier sowieso niet voor het comfort naar toe: geen warm water in keuken, huis is in frisse maanden best koud, zal in de zomer geen probleem zijn. Santa Lucia is mooi dorp waar alles te vinden is wat je nodig hebt. Veel wandelmogelijkheden.

Das Häuschen war genau richtig für uns! Wir lieben alte Häuser und alte Gebrauchsgegenstände. Der Kamin machte kühle Abende gemütlich und der Blick vom Hof auf das Dorf und die Berge im Hintergrund war wunderbar.
Die Ausstattung ist einfach, stilvoll und für uns einfach zum wohlfühlen.

Das Haus liegt weit außerhalb, man muss mit dem Gepäck ca. 5 Minuten bergauf laufen um das Haus zu erreichen. Dann hat man ein Haus für sich, weit ab von anderen Menschen und hört nur Vögel und manchmal die Hunde aus dem Tal. Das Haus ist eher einfach, aber schön eingerichtet. Warmes Wasser muss man extra mit dem Gasherd erhitzen, es ist an Ausstattung alles da was man braucht. Das WC und die Dusche ist nicht im Haus, sondern grenzt in einem Extragebäude ans Haus. 5 Sterne alleine wegen der ruhigen abgeschiedenen Lage mit toller Aussicht und der damit verbundene Ruhe. Positiv auch, dass die Besitzerin jederzeit per Handy erreichbar ist, alles unkompliziert und nett.
