Lovely staff, very homely feel

When we arrived by taxi, we did wonder if we had the right address and so did everyone else, but behind those unassuming doors lies a lovely boutique hotel in an old house with impressive period details (high ceilings, ornate detailing) but with modern comforts. We were there with a large extended family group for a wedding and the staff were really helpful. Our standard room was very adequate to us, the junior suites are very large. Even though situated on a small square with a busy road, inside the hotel you were not aware of the traffic. As the hotel only serves breakfast, you could bring in food and drinks freely, using their garden glasses, to have picknicks in the garden. It suited us down to the ground. It is quite far from the center but there is a metrostation right outside the hotel. What more can you ask for.

The wardrobe is small, as in not tall, so we struggled with our dresses, having to hang them on the shower partition and doorframe to bathroom. We had the garden room, which has doors opening to the walled garden which are security wise not the best. It didn't bother us at all but I can imagine not everyone will love it. You can close the internal blinds in front of them, with bolts, for increased security at night or when you go out

Very nice friendly vibe. The staff were very attentive and looked after us amazingly.

It was in a nice location, a little outside of the centre of the city but that suited us fine-we walked some days and got the metro (right outside the door) others. It was peaceful, the room was spacious and the staff were excellent.

The only criticism I would have is that the photos on Booking.com are slightly misleading. We booked a junior suite because it appeared that you could close off the sitting area from the bedroom-perfect for our teenage daughter. However, unfortunately, this was only true of some of the suites-they are all different-and not the one we were in
