Saridevi Ecolodge

The view, the serenity, spaciousness, amazing hospitality. I cannot ask more really. It was just such a splendid stay. Would definitely come back! The owners are very hands-on and they are on the spot fixing any hiccups that might occur. it's also super near Jatiluwih.

I stayed here for two days starting from the day before Nyepi, and even the day after Nyepi is just as peaceful. The scenery is beautiful, and all the staff are calm and make it very comfortable to stay. The simple meals, without things like bread, give me a feeling of being detoxed from the inside. I hope this place remains as quiet and serene as it is now.

This seems to be common in hotels in Bali, but the strong fragrance from the detergents used for laundry lingers in the linens and made my nose hurt. If that could be improved, it would be a perfect place for me.

We loved our stay here! So beautifully located between the rice fields. The staff is super friendly with a personal touch (our children loved them). The lodges are spacious and have a great view. The Indonesian food on the menu of the restaurant was really delicious. From the lodge we did some small hikes which was really nice.

Some minor points of improvements for the future to get a 10/10 review. Nothing major, we loved our stay here! The breakfast (pancakes, eggs, fruits and coffee/tea) could use some variety if you stay multiple nights. Maybe offer nasi/mie goreng as option or add some toast to it. For future maintenance I would advise to check the lamps in the lodge, not all of them were working. And some floor planks are a bit loose with some nails sticking out. Furthermore, the path to the lodge is very slippery when it has rained. Maybe this can be improved or at least remove the moss to make it less slippery.

First off let me say that shanti and her family welcomed us very heartwarming. The dogs Bruno and Mars (welp) were lovely. The whole location looks like a paradise too good to be true. Walking through their garden and the rice fields was an experience by itself. The dinner shanti cooked for us was absolutely delicious however very small in portion for 2 people. That also goes for the traditional breakfast, delicious but too small portions.

However we also had a couple of bad experiences at saridevi ecolodge. The house we stayed at was the biggest of the 4 they had. It’s the furthest into the jungle and that turned out to be a horrible night for us. The room was full of bugs, geckos, frogs, snails, mice’s and who knows what not. Luckily we had a mosquito net, but we felt like in a golden cage. It was uncomfortable falling asleep. The toilet and shower are located more or less openly outside. sounds great but there were a lot of giant ants that tried to bite us and also did during shower. Also please check under the toilet lid before sitting on it. There were tons of ants and spiders. Later that night we also heard monkeys on the roof and in the bathroom checking the trash. we couldn’t go to the toilet that night. also we were told that this has never happened before I somehow doubt that we are the first to experience. During check out things became uncomfortable at some point. We asked shanti if they can organize a transport for us to our next stop because Gojak,Grab etc. is not working there. After we told her the exact location she immediately started checking the price of our hotel and mentioned how expensive it was and that we must have had the kind of money to afford that. Unnecessary and none of their business honestly. Also beware of the dinner price .. We ate once and payed 200.000 for a portion we left hungry to bed. And that was her “special price” for us… We ate a lot in different warungs on Bali and never have we payed this kind of money anywhere. We stayed one night, I am not convinced we would comeback again.
