About this house rental

Ideally located between Caen la mer and Suisse Normande in Sainte Honorine du Fay, your cottage has just been completely renovated. It is a haven of peace in the heart of a property whose family history dates back to the 16th century. Constituted of a building annexed to the castle, the lodging, of a capacity of reception of 10/11 people has all the facilities of comfort wished: 3 parental rooms with their bathrooms or of annexed shower. 2 bedrooms each composed of 2 and 3 separate beds. A games room with billiards and table football. A living / dining room with sofas and a large fireplace, wood is provided! A new kitchen and fully equipped with oven, microwave, combined fridge / freezer, dishwasher, washer / dryer. WC in DRC and on the floor. WiFI on site. Outside: private garden on the farm side with outdoor table and barbecue. Access by crossing the Castle Park (the park is private) to the pool and its pool house (sun loungers available) and tennis court synthetic grass. The pool is usually open from May to September, depending on the weather! Ping Pong and bicycles on request, On-site parking. Our dog friends are welcome with a slight supplement.

We received a warm welcome, and because we had a basic understanding of the language, we had no trouble following the enthusiastic host’s explanations. He was very helpful in answering our questions. The accommodation was fully equipped with all modern comforts.

This property was absolutely perfect for us. We loved the country setting, the proximity to the village with its boulangerie and butcher, and the relatively easy access to a number of great sites (Bayeux, Falaise, the D-Day beaches). The property was extremely well equipped and comfortable. We loved the kitchen and living areas that let our family gather together for meals and socializing. There was also enough private space for people to retreat for quiet time. The pool table got lots of use. Philippe, the caretaker, was a wealth of information — and fresh eggs. The owners were extremely helpful as needed. All in all, a fantastic property for those who love a beautiful rural setting with history.

Fabulous, magical, beautiful, French country side setting. We explored Normandy and at the same time we were able to relish our time at the Clos, swimming, games, walking to and swimming in the river yet most important our time with our family could not have taken place in a more wonderful setting. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. We were very comfortable and enjoyed using the game room. The kitchen was very well equipped. The surrounding property is very picturesque. The hosts and the caretaker were extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity to return to the area.

After a week and a half in crowded, bustling Paris, our group of seven-ranging in ages from 32 to 85-was ready for the quiet of the Normandy countryside. And this lovely guest house was perfect for our needs. Nicely appointed rooms and modern baths— all very clean and spacious. The grounds are beautiful and the location worked well for our trips to the D-Day sites, Falaise, and Mont St Michel. Philippe, the caretaker, is a treasure. He was so welcoming and solicitous—making sure we had everything we needed. Our memories of Philippe and Clos de Bretteville will always bring smiles to our faces. We wish we could have stayed longer. Merci Alexis & Philippe!

We enjoyed our stay in the Country after 5 busy days in Paris. The grounds are beautiful and Phillipe the grounds keeper was wonderful and helpful. The place is spacious and clean. The bathrooms are renovated and up to date. We were a party of 6 adults. We even got to enjoy the clean and sparkling pool. My only suggestion would be portable fans for the bedrooms. You cannot control the weather and it was 91 degrees when we visited and the bedrooms were all upstairs so it was quite toasty.

Jaw dropping grounds, perfect BBQ area. Beautiful pool and covered seating area. Well decorated, airy, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Pool table/ping pong tables were a bonus. Perfect all around for a chilled holiday for the whole family aged from 4 to 77. Would definitely recommend

The house was in a lovely setting and had lots of things to do especially for the children. If i was to say anything negative it would be that it could do with a welcome pack milk,bread teabags etc because we never saw a shop open in the village and supermarket was a drive away. To sum it up it was very peaceful and restful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house was very comfortable with lots of character (a cozy French cottage with modern updates). Plenty of space for the five of us and activities to keep kids away from their screens. Grounds were lovely as well. Location is convenient with multiple markets within short drive and proximity to Caen, Bayeux and the Normandy coast. If we were to return to the region (so much more to see..) we would not hesitate to book again.

Our stay was fantastic. We were a group of two families with teenagers and the property was perfect for our needs. The layout of the home with the multiple bedrooms and bathrooms fit the needs of our large group. Upon arrival, we were met by the gracious property owners and Phillip, the manager that helped us throughout our stay. They had built a cozy fire and gave us tour of the home. The beautiful kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed for the meals we prepared during our time. The entire home is updated and beautifully decorated, yet cozy and comfortable to relax after busy sightseeing days. Our family enjoyed the pool table and babyfoot in the evenings. It is close to DDay beaches, Mont Saint Michel and Saint Malo. The nearby town has a bakery and also a great location for a morning run. Thank you for opening up your home and we look forward to returning soon.

We stayed here as a base to see the landing beaches and explore some of Normandy. The accomodation was perfect and Philippe was excellent. Fresh salad and eggs were very welcome. We all enjoyed the pool and the relaxing feel of the clos, so will definitely return! We hope the baby ducklings thrive!

Top notch stay. Great location for exploring the region and a truly lovely setting with plenty to do keep guests of all ages entertained. Nous étions un groupe de 7 personnes ( 5 adultes et 2 enfants) , et l’expérience restera mémorable. Le lieu est absolument magnifique, extrêmement bien entretenu et d’un calme parfait. Les pièces sont spacieuses, tout est très propre. Nous y sommes restés uniquement 2 nuits . De l’accueil par le gardien Philippe jusqu’au départ, tout est a recommander. Les enfants ont adoré . Bref tout le monde a été enchanté.

Nous venons de passer, un weekend entre filles, joueuses de tennis, exceptionnel. La maison est au calme, très bien aménagé, très bien décoré. Malgré le temps, nous avons pu profiter pleinement du terrain de tennis, et de la piscine. Le parc est très beau. De plus, Philippe, le régisseur a été super. Très disponible, tout en étant discret, d'une grande gentillesse, pour rendre le séjour encore plus agréable. Merci pour ces 3 jours de détente, nous espérons revenir.

Demeure très belle, très propre, très confortable (excellente literie, nombreuses salles de bain et toilettes) et spacieuse. Idéal pour un week end en famille. Très beau parc, très bien entretenu. Un lieu pour se ressourcer en pleine campagne et se ré-energiser (piscine, tennis, piscine pong). Les enfants ont adoré toutes ces commodités, le baby foot, le billard, les grands espaces. Excellent accueil de Philippe aux petits soins. Nous y retournernos avec plaisir!

Nous avons passé un super week-end à la campagne, à deux pas de chez nous dans un cadre ravissant, la propriété autour du château, le parc, la mare et tous les gallinacés ...La piscine et le salon autour ont été grandement appréciés. Merci Philippe pour l'accueil et la bienveillance durant tout le séjour et merci pour les œufs ;) En un week-end, tennis, piscine, tennis de table, billard, baby-foot et barbecue ! Nous espérons pouvoir y retourner plus longuement..
