Excellent location, comfortable and atmospheric vintage property - does need a freezer though!

Excellent location with a peaceful outlook beyond a nice shared garden with space to sit out. Beach within five minutes' bike ride. Five minutes' walk into the substantial village with good shops, post office, medical centre, bars and restaurants. The house stayed cool in the unexpectedly hot weather - thick walls, tiled floors, etc. Lovely original features such as parquet flooring and French doors. The hosts were friendly and available to answer questions about the house and equipment. The washing machine, cooker, and dishwasher worked fine. The beds were comfortable. The WiFi worked fine in the sitting room, less so in the bedrooms.

The fridge did not have a freezer compartment to make ice! This was a major omission in our view, it is the only rental property we have ever encountered in France with no freezer provision. Not unsurprisingly, given that it was an old house converted into two units, the bedrooms were on the small side and there was no wardrobe space in the main bedroom. The kitchen crockery was old, non-matching, and chipped and there were not enough of some items (mugs, teaspoons) for the maximum occupancy of the property. No chopping boards for food prep. Be aware that the garden was shared, with a certain inevitable lack of privacy, although our fellow holiday makers were friendly and considerate. Apart from not having ice for cold drinks none of this stopped us from having a very good holiday!
