Ferienwohnungen im Gasthof Stern inklusive KönigsCard

Traveled to 36 countries and all 50 US states, and Gasthof Stern is one of my favorite hotels anywhere. Just love it. As a bonus, it comes with the "KonigsCard" which offers free admission to pricey tourist sites in the area. The Gasthof proprietor is a true professional who really cares about her guests. The slightest question or concern will be addressed in seconds (no kidding) with a quick text. Unterammergau is an exceptionally beautiful village, with hiking trails and a baroque church within easy walking distance. The region is one of the most beautiful spots on the planet. If you're lucky, you'll see local farmers herding their cows down the street in the morning hours.

The host came promptly when there was a lockbox problem. There are lots of big windows - on first floor corner - Alpenrose. It is a big comfortable space. The Kings card is a great asset - amazing value = 9. For only 5 euro the host collected my washing bag and they were returned on a drying rack in the room when we came back that day - all clean and dry. Magic! It is an agricultural village and you see lots of tractors and there are even silage heaps in town. The flies don't come in the apartment but in late afternoon you might get flies if you are eating outside at the restaurant downstairs - we went inside and it was fine. We were always able to find a park close by. There is an EV charger a few minutes walk away behind the Rathaus. There is a small café near there that is OK. The town a few Km south has a big supermarket on entry, with a great bakery and top coffee. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. It is very quiet. Kettle and toaster are tricky to find - above fridge.

The keys are attached with a big ring to a big plastic square making a big bundle. It had become jammed into a triangle so it was a tight fit in the lockbox. The lockbox on the correct code would not open. I think, because of the oversized tight key bundle and poor lockbox design the big key bundle had internally pressed on the reset mechanism and changed one digit slightly. The host arrived with a spare key and meanwhile managed to guess the slightly altered lockbox code (clever and lucky). Later, by forceful manipulation I was able to unjam the triangle large key bundle into a flat presentation. A washing machine and microwave are what we usually seek but such an apartment was not found for this stay. There is no bath. The hot water in the shower took a long time to come through - second person gets a hot shower. If you want to wash clothes in the basin you need to ask for a plug.
