We had a super time at the very quiet and clean villa which is located at Wiesersberg Perniwinkle, on the edge of Leogang. We had previously had a two week summer Austrian holiday in Seefeld, Tyrol seven years ago. Our holiday at Leogang was at least as good or better - difficult to say as the children get older! During the first week we were joined by 5 others in our extended family but the villa was easily large enough for all ten of us. The weather was excellent throughout, allowing us to enjoy the incredible (5 star) and unbeatable view of the valley and surrounding mountains from the balcony almost every day. There were stargazing opportunities too! The barbecue and table tennis table were very well used and young and old alike appreciated the internet access. A larger fridge/freezer would have been nice for our big family group but it wasn't really a problem. When we finally tore ourselves away from the villa, we had great days on the Asitz and Schmittenhohe cable cars, at Zell am See lake (there are 3 different lidos), at Hohenwerfen Castle, at Liechenstein Klamm (waterfall) and at the Eisriesenwelt ice caves. On our last day we visited Salzburg. We were particularly impressed by the mountain bike course at Leogang (getting ready for the mountain bike world cup) and by the ice caves - we visited the caves on a very hot day and it was amazing to go from hot to cold to hot again in the space of an hour or so. The complete all round view, at Gr. Asitz , a short walk from the top of the Asitz cable car, was the very best experience - I wish I could do that every week. We enjoyed several visits to Crazy Daisy's restaurant in Zell am See (some good live music one evening) and also watched the laser show on the lake accompanied by classical music. Afternoon tea was very good too at the Landhotel Rupertus in Leogang. Just before the holiday, we had been to the Olympics in London. But the holiday in Leogang continued the wonderful times, providing a perfect mix of day trips and relaxation at the villa. Thanks to Margo for all the arrangements and to Tom and Petra for local help :-)

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in diesem tollen Haus. Angefangen mit einer einfachen Kommunikation mit der Eigentümerin, sowie guten Tipps zur Umgebung, hat es uns an nichts gefehlt. Das Haus ist wie beschrieben eingerichtet und auch für größere Gruppen gut geeignet, Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, es ist ausreichend Platz für alle da und die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit in ihrem Haus. Es hat uns wirklich an Nichts gefehlt und das Haus war genau wie beschrieben, schön eingerichtet und hat alles was man für eine Gruppen oder Familien Tour braucht. In der modernen Küche kann man super kochen und das Wohnzimmer bietet ausreichend Platz für Alle. Zudem sind die Bade- und Schlafzimmer sauber und gut eingerichtet. Danke außerdem für die einfache Kommunikation und den schnellen Ablauf der Buchung und für alle Tipps. Gerne kommen wir wieder. Viele Grüße Robert

Samen met een groep van 9 vrienden een weekje op wintersport. Heel goed uitgangspunt voor de vele prachtige ski gebieden in de buurt. Het huisje was heel fijn en zelfs ruimer dan we dachten. De keuken is ook goed uitgerust. Echt perfect voor zoveel mensen. Ook heel fijn dat onze auto’s (3) een eigen plek hadden voor de deur. Zeker een aanrader!

Am Rande von Bernerwinkel ist das Objekt wunderschön gelegen und man geniesst den Ausblick auf die Steinberge hinter Saalfelden. Im Keller überraschte ein Tisch-Kicker, der von uns auch sofort genutzt wurde. Das Ferienhaus ist vollständig eingerichtet, man hat Platz, die sanitären Anlagen Tip-Top. Kleiner Wermutstropfen: Es fehlen in den Schlafräumen Mückengitter.

Wir haben zu viert (2 Erwachsene & 2 Kinder) eine Woche Herbsturlaub in dem Ferienhaus verbracht, was sowohl an Platz als auch an Ausstattung kein Wünsche offen lässt. Die Lage ist fantastisch und man kann von dort aus praktisch alle Sehenswürdigkeiten des schönen Salzburger Landes innerhalb einer Autostunde erreichen, so man nicht sogleich die Wanderwege vor Ort nutzt. Wenn man unternehmungslustig ist, lohnt sich in diesem Zusammenhang auch der Erwerb der Salzburg-Land-Card (Infos im Internet), mit der man, nach einmaliger Bezahlung der Card, die meisten Attraktionen und Freizeiteinrichtungen der Gegend (Bergbahnen, Schwimmbäder, Klamms, Höhlen, Museen, Schlösser, Besuch der Salzburger (Stadt-)Attraktionen etc.) ein oder auch mehrmals kostenfrei besuchen bzw. nutzen kann. Wir haben die Cards als Familie ausgiebig genutzt und die Kosten hatten sich somit nach 2 Tagen bereits amortisiert. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin erfolgte stets zeitnah, überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend, insbesondere hinsichtlich Nachfragen und Empfehlungen vor Ort. Von uns gibt es dafür alle Daumen nach oben. Ein absoluter Traum, wir waren mit 11 Leuten da zum Skiurlaub und es war super. Das Haut hat eine unglaublich ruhige Lage, mitten in den Bergen. Die Nachbarn sind super freundlich und das Grundstück ausreichend groß. Die Küche hat alles was das Herz begehrt und das daran anschließende Wohnzimmer ist super gemütlich. Die Bäder (3) sind alle sehr angenehm von der Größe und jeweils sehr hübsch. Die Zimmer sind alle ein wenig anders, aber haben alle Ihren eigenen Charme, so das man gern darin lebt. Also von uns gibt es eine ganz klare Empfehlung und wir reisen definitiv noch einmal dahin :)

We hebben voor de 2e keer onze wintervakantie doorgebracht in landhuis Olduvai. We hebben eerder een vakantiehuis van de familie Nagl gehuurd en dit is ons prima bevallen. Wat het bijzonder maakt is het persoonlijke contact via de mail, zo leren we elkaar vooraf al een beetje kennen en dat maakt dat we ons meteen al thuis voelen in hun vakantiewoning. Het vakantiehuis zelf is fantastisch gelegen aan de rand van een kleine gemeenschap van huizen en boerderijen , op ongeveer 10 minuten rijden vanaf Leogang. Prachtig uitzicht over het dal en voldoende privacy, het ligt aan het einde van een doodlopend weggetje. Onze kinderen zijn al volwassen maar met jongere kinderen is dit zeker een voordeel. Na een lange reis wacht een warm onthaal, de kachel brandt en overal in huis is het heerlijk warm, de bedden zijn opgemaakt en het huis is uitnodigend en super schoon! Voor ons is de vakantie meteen begonnen. Het vakantiehuis is heel ruim en voor ons gezin met kinderen in de leeftijd van 19-24 jaar is er voldoende ruimte en privacy voor iedereen. Fijn dat er 2 wasmachines en een wasdroger zijn die we kunnen gebruiken. En wat ook prettig is: voldoende zitruimte(banken)om s avonds te kunnen ontspannen na een inspannend dagje skiën. De beschrijving en de foto's kloppen echt helemaal, het is zelfs mooier en ruimer dan je op de foto's ziet. Als het heeft gesneeuwd wordt er s ochtends vroeg sneeuw geruimd, dit is ook heel prettig. Alles is er aan gelegen om ons een fijne vakantie te bezorgen. Kortom: landhuis Olduvai is het ideale vakantiehuis voor een fijne wintersportvakantie in Leogang, we hopen zeker nog eens terug te komen. Bedankt voor de gastvrijheid. The house indeed offers more than the web site advertises. 10 people of three families and all the time we felt like home. The whole area is wonderful too and I really look forward to come back some day in summer. Ski conditions are as good as everywhere in Austria, but the area offers to whom not lazy driving half an hour a great number of ski regions to choose amongst. Although not first time in the region we discovered this year the Maria Alm-Hochkoenig region and it is nothing less than Saalbach-Hinterglemm and even Kitbuehel. I really feel a little bit jealous about those who’s first visit to this beautiful place is still ahead!

Das Landhaus Olduvai liegt wunderschön und ruhig am Rande eines kleinen Dorfes und bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Berge. Wir haben dort eine Woche zu dritt verbracht und haben uns vom ersten Tag an wie zuhause gefühlt. Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und perfekt ausgestattet: egal ob riesen Eckbadewanne, Fön, Eierkocher, Brotschneidemaschine oder Tischtennisplatte - es bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Es war sehr sauber und ordentlich. Im Haus liegen unzählige Prospekte mit Infos und Tipps zu Aktivitäten und Sehenswürdigkeiten im Umland bereit. Die direkte Umgebung bietet unzählige Wandermöglichkeiten und ist ein wahres Kinderparadies. Die ans Haus angrenzende Kuhweide, zahlreiche Erlebniswanderwege, Abenteuerspielplätze an fast allen Berghütten, Schnee im Sommer auf dem Gletscher und das Naturkundemuseum in Salzburg ließen die Augen unseres 2 1/2 jährigen Sohnes jeden Tag aufs Neue leuchten. Wir waren sicher nicht das letzte Mal in Saalfelden Leogang und sind uns alle einig, dass wir nirgends anders als im Landhaus Olduvai wohnen möchten.

Mithilfe der vielen Fotos vom Ferienhaus konnten wir uns schon im Voraus ein Bild machen, wie es dort sein wird. Dennoch hatten wir viele spezielle Fragen mit persönlichem Hintergrund, die man uns alle umgehend telefonisch und auch per Email beantwortet hat. Das war uns sehr hilfreich. Als wir dann das Haus betraten, kamen wir nicht mehr aus dem Staunen heraus,... alles war (ist) so wie beschrieben und schöner! Es ist sehr gemütlich und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Die Ausstattung ist umfangreicher und gepflegter als in manch anderem (von uns bisher gemietetem) Ferienobjekt!!! Man kann die Tür aufmachen und ist draußen, man kann die Ruhe (das Haus steht am Rand einer kleinen Siedlung) und die herrliche Landschaft genießen, man kann direkt am Haus loswandern oder auch losradeln, man kann ein paar Minuten entfernt Milch vom Bauern holen usw. Als ein gutes Restaurant empfehlen wir das Vitalhotel "Saliter Hof" in Uttenhofen, an der Leogangerstraße. Wir 11 Familienmitglieder (4 verschiedene Altersgruppen) haben uns wirklich ZU HAUSE gefühlt, wollten am liebsten gar nicht weg! Das Haus ist SO SCHÖN, dass wir uns fragen, wieso der Vermieter es Fremden überläßt, wo er doch nicht weiß, wie man mit seinem wertvollen Eigentum umgeht. Wir danken dem Vermieter und Verwalter und hoffen auf einen "Wieder- Einzug" ins Haus Olduvai.

We stayed at Landhaus Oldavai in June of 2011. What an excellent place to vacation! The house is everything as advertised. In fact, it was better. The home is in excellent shape, most everything seems clean and new. It was equipped with everything we needed and more. It was much more spacious that we anticipated. We have 5 kids and we slept comfortably with a full bedroom and a spare bed left unused. The house is situated in a picturesque valley in the foothills of the alps. Grey snow capped mountains can be seen from out the windows, and a large green meadow borders the house. It was a beautiful area. We obviously did not go during Ski season, but seems like this would be a prime area for that. From this area we visited Salzburg (1hr 10 min drive) Bertchesgaden and Königssee (1 hour drive), Saalfelden (10 min drive) and Zell am See (20 min drive). We have traveled all over Europe with our family, and this is the first time our entire family wants to go back. It was a great place to stay.
