Unique location in a beautiful and tranquil glamorous tents

The large tent has an indoor and outdoor living space. Your nest on the hillside overlooking the whole bay, seeing the weather change boats arrive and go and the amazing bird life. I read that this place was called 9 hornbills because a long time ago the rare birds, nine of them, were seen here. I understand talking to the staff that in the meantime the population of these Horn bills have grown thanks to an effort of the local people providing suitable breeding places. Tasteful design the tent all in massive teak wood and comfortable especially the oversize large bed which comes in handy when you’re above average height and your feet are not sticking out. There is a decent private pool at each tent where they also serve breakfast if you care for that . We found it exceptional value for money , so come in the less busier times like now. You have access to its sister Resort, Koyao Island Resort, and use all the facilities, like stand-up paddle kayaks bikes, et cetera. It is an easy walk or if you prefer a buggy ride. Their Thai food is outstanding, we tried also a few international dishes which were impeccable. Good wine selection, very reasonably priced I enjoyed the most that there is a special tent as a shared working space, pictures attached, so I could do some of the necessary. There’s also a gym which is basic, but it has all what you need. You can double up as a yoga space as well, with gorgeous views over the bay.

A magical stay with the best view of Phang Nga Bay

A magical stay above the bay! Set high on the hill with panoramic views over Phang Nga Bay , absolutely breathtaking. The private pool with its outdoor terrace was the perfect spot to relax, and the luxury tented villa was such a unique and beautifully styled experience. It was the ultimate place to completely rest and recharge. Breakfast served in the pool was a stunning highlight — like something out of a dream. And the best part? I actually saw hornbills right in front of my villa’s garden. Wow. Truly unforgettable.

Our best glamping experience ever! The tent is much bigger than our expectations with full facilities and comfort. The bed is so soft and we slept very well. We loved the privacy and sunrise view. It was super relaxing and enjoyable. Staff are friendly and helpful.

- Exceptional views towards the Bileh Archipel Marine park - Hideaway in the nature with full privacy (ideal for honeymoon couples and long married) - Spacious tent with private pool: very nicely equipped, very clean, tastefully designed and furnished - just out of the ordinary - I liked that we were able to enjoy the phantastic beach, pool and restaurant of Koyao Island Resort (the two locations belong together) - We had a magnificant breakfast served to our private pool - Right next to extra luxuary resort of Six Senses, but with very affordable and fair rates - they care a lot about environmental friendliness - we liked the free available bicycles, kayaks and SUP's

Spectacular Views

The villa was very private and the views were spectacular. The service staff were genuinely friendly and attentive to all our requests. The food menu had a great combination of both Thai and western cuisine. The romantic dinner served at our own tent was good value and 5 star quality. I would highly recommend taking the speedboat transfer to and from the resort to enhance your experience. Overall we would highly recommend this resort to others and we will return ASAP. P.S. The hornbills that we spotted were beautiful and we understand how the resort was named.

Nothing, everything was disappointing 😞

It was disappointing 😞 The 9 hornbills placed so so far from the resort, lonley in a jungle it's so scared, the private pool not clean. We can't stay there and moved to resort room, but also we can't sleep all the night because of the insects and frogs everywhere The door with no key, anyone can enter the room anytime, it's not safety We booked 2 nights, but can't stay there more than one night ): I don't recommend this place, it's so expensive, uncomfortable and no safety

Beautiful and private villa stay with a view of the islands.

The key highlight of staying here is the isolation and the private pool. It's like a private villa inside nature with a beautiful view of the islands. The staff is very polite and offered our breakfast to be delivered to the room with a floating table in the pool. We also ordered in room service dinner which was very nicely delivered.

9hornbills was amazing from the moment we checked in. The ladies at reception were very friendly and welcoming. They did everything they could so we didn’t have to wait the check in time of 2pm. We stayed in an amazing villa/tent with sweeping views of the ocean and the breathtaking rocks of the phang nga bay. The infinity pool was to die for and the floating breakfast in the pool the next morning was an experience we will never forget. We also organised a private dinner and everything was soo well organised. They came an hour earlier to set up the table with flowers and candles. The food itself was amazing! Fresh seafood and very tasty. The buggy is here to pick you up within seconds when asked. They provided a whatsapp no and everytime we messaged them, they replied within seconds. The wildlife around the villa was amazing also! Felt like you were glamping in the middle of the forest. We will definitely recommend this place and will be back! What an experience!!! Thank you!

Good location, and the staffs are OK

The tent design is very unique. Also it's located in the mountains so the view is amazing.

The staffs are doing their best, but still not very professional. They are nice and friendly, but they need more training how to deal with customers. The AC was not good so they moved us to another room, and the other room has rusty water in the bath tub. Also the pool's water was not clean.

nice idea of tented camp but areas to improve

we love the privacy of the villa, nice size pool, floating breakfast and the tented camp. the staffs’ attitude were very good.

apparent lack of staff’s training. e.g. hospitality, English level, and hygiene level. one the staff came to our room without a mask . even though it was only for a while to put the mosquito coil, it is important to have mask for the well-being of guests and worker)l especially during this sensitive time). during dinner, we have difficulty to communicate. ordered mozzarella stick and came with a salad. tried to explain but to no avail. the cutlery also has stain on it. the light in the pool is not working and the pump looks that way too. not many guest in the hotel, yet we got a room with some trees blocking the sea view. A little disappointed. The buggy service was a little slow too . there is no slipper in the room (and the floor doesn’t feel too clean..) we moved to another hotel at the north of the island, and immediately we see the contrast of service. Excellent hospitality and spotless clean. overall 9Hornbill is still a nice room to stay but needs improvement in many areas. The management have some work to do.

Resort facilities and beach are Super!!. Very satisfied with resort staff they are very nice and helpful. Tented camp was such a lovely romantic place for couple with unique Koh Yao Noi ocean view. You can see a group of hornbills in very early morning before having floating breakfast in a pool in front of the tent. Perfect!!!

Less kinds of breakfast when we visit. May be due to low season in Covid-19 year in Thailand, but great with less of tourists. Made us feel peace.

6 jours au paradis

Un lieu paradisiaque, à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur, avec une vue paradisiaque. Juste les oiseaux, la superbe végétation, la mer et les rochers karstiques au loin, tout cela dans une superbe "tente" tout confort, complètement au calme, et au bord d'une piscine avec des bancs très bien pensés dont on ne partirait jamais ! Certes, cela n'est pas donné, mais absolument aucun regret tellement le séjour a été formidable. Nous envisageons déjà d'y revenir une dizaine de jours l'année prochaine en demandant exactement la même tente. A noter que l'hôtel sur la côte, auquel on a accès, est tout aussi superbe (plage, piscine, parc, ...) et que l'ile est d'une tranquillité hors norme.

- La communication n'est pas toujours facile avec le personnel, ce qui emmène à quelques contradictions et donc à quelques couacs, mais tout finit toujours par s'arranger car ils font tout leur possible pour répondre à vos demandes (meilleur exemple avec le prêt de la superbe chambre d'attente de l'hôtel du bas pour quelques heures le dernier jour après une mauvaise information sur l'heure de départ). - Restaurant trop cher, avec des taxes non incluses dans les prix du menu, ce qui corse encore plus l'addition, et par décence je ne parlerai pas du prix du verre de vin qui est pourtant tout à fait ordinaire. Pas grave, il y a tout ce qu'il faut et bien moins cher à 5-10 minutes à pied ou 2 mn à scooter, mais c'est vraiment dommage, cf. mon commentaire précédent sur Railay (du coup, testé le premier soir et c'est tout).

Pure beauté des paysages, quelque soit la météo ; un vrai paradis

Une vue à couper le souffle, quelque soit la météo. Un côté glamping de luxe, avec piscine pour soi. La nuit venue, les bruits de la jungle. Un service aux petits soins et une île tranquille et typique, loin des ressorts et des rues bondées et bruyantes le soir. Chaque emplacement possède un beau jardin, vous pouvez voir des toucans, des lézards et surtout cette vue splendide sur cette ile qui doit rester méconnue à l'abri du tourisme de masse. Idéal pour décompresser !

"9 Hornbills" - schöner geht es nicht!

Ich war schon einige Male im Koh Yao Island Resort in einem schönen Bungalow direkt am Strand. Nun war ich zum ersten Mal im "9 Hornbills" auf dem nahegelegenen Hügel. Das "9 Hornbills" ist das non plus ultra! Die Zeltunterkunft und die Aussicht sind schlicht phänomenal. Die Zelte sind wunderschön und sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Jedes Zelt verfügt über einen Swimmingpool. Der Umschwung ist grosszügig, man hört und sieht nichts von anderen Gästen in anderen Zelten. Mit einem Golf Cart kann man sich ins Resort unten am Strand mit Restaurant und Spa Bereich chauffieren lassen. Ich sah aber während meines Aufenthaltes kaum einen Grund, "meine" Zeltoase zu verlassen ;)
