Beautiful getaway, recommended
Very lovely host, communicative with thorough directions, and available when we were looking for the door on arrival. Kind and had left a thoughtful cake and milk in the kitchen for us. Home was very well heated and kept us toasty and warm throughout which absolutely helped us appreciate the cold and wet weather. The bathroom, laundry areas were well stocked with towels, washing machine pods.
The house is really far removed from civilisation, so getting there might be a bit of an adventure for some(though we were perfectly fine with it) I think it would be a great place to visit with another family. There are 4 bedrooms(1 single bed).only one room has a double bed the rest were twin beds so it would be a good fit for 2 families with kids!

Perfect Valentines weekend.
Everything ! Location, facilities, comfort, value for money, delightful gentlemen who went through heating, log burner to ensure our comfort.
Nothing....but two observations. 1....shower on lower floor had poor flow and difficult temperature control. 2....heating was not on when we arrived, thus very cold. But the gentleman soon sorted it out and the property...along with the wood burner, warmed up very quickly.

A gorgeous olde worlde place with modern facilities and the nicest pillows I’ve ever slept on!
Well equipped. A lovely little sanctuary to come home to at the end of the day
Nothing - other than the water pressure - but this is expected in such a remote area

Pure nature. Pure bliss. Pure happiness.
You just have to see it to believe it. Situated at the end of a valley in the middle of nowhere (which is a plus), "The Old House" is a surprisingly big holiday house – dating from the 16th century, with all the wonderful quirkiness that comes with its history (creaking wooden floors, thick walls, beamed ceilings etc.). The accommodation stretches over two levels, with each room being extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Huge kitchen with everything one might need, beautiful living room. In each room you'll wake up to to the sounds of nature – birds, sheep, the dogs that live on the property, the wind blowing through the trees… a perfect getaway for everyone seeking pure nature. That said, you will absolutely need a car to get anywhere: There's a nice pub about a mile away (that serves food at certain times) and which has an adjoining little supermarket (that really, really has everything one might need – it's also one of the rare petrol stations in the area, so make sure you fill up your car there). The owners - especially Miranda, the landlady - couldn't have been nicer, being available for every questions (but otherwise leaving us in complete privacy). Guests have access to an own little private garden with a pub table (20 seconds by foot) where we enjoyed a few cold beers under the trees, watching bird of preys eyeing (and catching) poor mice on the ground. For everyone who wants to leave the hectic world behind for a few days: This is your perfect destination.
Not a problem to us - but may needs mentioning for some guests: You will absolutely need a car. Phone reception in the area is mostly non-existent but the accommodation has (good) wi-fi.

A peaceful, charming stay with a lovely host—beautiful countryside, cosy old Welsh home, board games
A truly lovely stay .The host was kind and welcoming, and the setting was just perfect—secluded from the world, yet with strong Wi-Fi so we could stay in touch when needed. The house itself had that beautiful old English/Welsh charm, full of character and surrounded by greenery. We loved the simple pleasures—board games, table tennis, birdwatching, and seeing the sheep and horses nearby. The peaceful countryside was ideal for walks and quiet exploration. There’s so much to enjoy and unwind with here. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, nature-filled break.

We would definitely come again.
The location (middle of nowhere) was ideal for us. It was clean and comfortable. Well equipped. The rooms were lovely, the kitchen diner spacious, excellent value for money
The external photograph is misleading, although it makes no difference. The old house is a parallel attached house at the back of the one featured. Technically it's the same building I guess, it's just a bit deceptive / deceitful. We struggled with the showers, I think because of the water pressure.
