About this villa rental

Villa Ciany is a charming Provencal, detached family villa with air conditioning set in mature gardens and enjoying magnificent views over the Bay of Villefrance and Cap Ferrat. The villa is situated approximately 10 km from Nice airport, 12 km from Monaco and 24 km from the Italian.

This villa and gardens are south facing and enjoy the sun throughout the day. Being in an elevated position, the views across the Bay of Villefranche are magnificent. The villa benefits from a heated pool, which is serviced throughout the year. There is a covered pergola beside the pool, which is ideal for eating meals out during the warmer months and in the evenings with seating for 8 plus guests. In the pergola, we have a fridge / wine cooler and loungers for use by the pool. A maid or our manager will meet guests on arrival and arrange cleaning etc. A gardener tends the gardens 5 hours a week and will dispose of the refuse. As villa Ciany is within easy traveling distance of Nice, Monaco and the Italian border by car or train, there is plenty to do for each individual taste. The villa is well furnished and in excellent condition. There is a large open space lounge with French doors leading to the terrace, also a spacious dining hall and separate study. A large secure garage is available.

We had an incredible time as a family of six in the South of France and staying at Villa Ciany was a big part of our successful vacation. Let’s start with the view. This well-located villa has the truly classic view of Villefranche Bay, Cap Ferrat Peninsula, Beaulieu Bay, and of course the Med. This villa which I believe was built in the late 19th century has certainly stood the test of time in remarkable fashion. There is a lot of space inside and out with three bedrooms with adjacent bathrooms, along with an office that can be used as a bedroom. The common areas include a well-appointed kitchen with everything you could possibly need, for example ,champagne buckets and champagne flutes, wine glasses, kitchen utensils, and it even has the fanciest Nespresso coffee machine that I have ever seen. The home also has a living room with two separate groupings and a television, and a dining room that no one uses because the highlight of the villa is the pergola / pool complex where all our meals were taken when we didn’t go out. The pergola has an outdoor dining table with great views, and has a fridge, wine fridge, and freezer. Adjacent to the pergola and pool are a half bath and shower which comes in very handy after long walks or hours by the pool. We managed to enjoy this property without a car although some may not be able to do so. Finally, the service at this property is fantastic. The owner is responsive, the manager was extraordinarily helpful, and a good caretaker.

Very well positioned, appointed and kept villa that felt like home (if home were a villa on the Cote D’Azur). Seamless communication with the owner and a minor electrical glitch was handled by the property manager quickly and professionally. The kitchen is marvelous and the outdoor spaces well designed. Only thing of note is to be aware that you are high on the hill over Villefranche (thus the great view) but means that back and forth to town, while probably very doable most of the year, is a bit of a sweaty challenge in the height of summer. Otherwise, very close to perfect.

Very luxurious, well appointed and comfortable villa with views across the bay and out to sea, and only a short (but steep!) walk into the old town. Villa Ciany was a great base for a really enjoyable family holiday with our three adult and older teenage children

The property was well stocked with loads of books, kitchen supplies, a great grill and more. The views were incredibly breath-taking. The garden was gorgeous and well cared for. Communication with the owner was smooth. Would definitely stay again. 5 stars hands down

My family and I were beyond happy and grateful that we came across this property for our vacation to the French Riviera! The location was fantastic, the cleanliness, the garden, the warm pool, and the gorgeous views all made it so special. We sincerely appreciated the equipment and supplies provided in the kitchen and throughout the home - it made our stay very comfortable and truly felt like it was our home for the week! It also felt very safe with the security measures (e.g., gates, shutters). Having a barbecue to use, and an outdoor fridge were bonuses as well. The host was extremely responsive to our questions and needs throughout our stay - thank you!

There was everything we could want/need and even leaving to explore the beautiful surrounding area to explore has been a difficult decision to make … should we stay or should we go ? We’re a family of 5 with older kids and have stayed in many rental properties on our holidays over the years. Villa Ciany is absolutely fabulous and a very high standard throughout. It has beautiful gardens, pool area, a modern kitchen, comfortable beds, lovely furnishings and a very spacious layout with a spectacular view. It’s the little things like providing robes, quality towels, lovely bedding, toiletries and kitchen products which just made our stay even more welcoming. It is up the hill from Ville Franche Sur Mer waterfront (hence the wonderful views) with many steps down to the harbourside which we did (even in the heatwave!) but we used taxis back which were readily available. All in all, a fabulous holiday in a beautiful part of the world and I’m already recommending it to friends!

Absolutely idyllic villa. Perfect location within Villefranche that affords the most spectacular views. Nothing hasn’t been thought about here from the fabulously equipped kitchen to the beautiful landscaping of the gardens. The pictures of the family dotted around the living areas is a lovely touch as well. We will most definitely come back to this wonderful villa, hopefully in the very near future.

Our stay at the Villa Ciany felt too good to be true! The Villa is stunning and the view incredible. The photos don’t do it justice. We stayed with our two boys ages 12 and 13 and my parents who are in their 70s. Everything was perfect including the amenities and communication with Andrew. We felt like we were living a dream in this spacious and gorgeous villa. Every morning we sipped coffee while taking in the expansive view of the sea and the yachts. We are planning our next stay!! Thank you for everything, Andrew. You’re a stellar host.

I spent one week with 6 friends at this idyllic villa. The home itself is beautifully decorated, everything we imagined from a French home. It was incredibly well stocked and very comfortable. The grounds are impeccable, especially the lovely lemon trees on the walk into the property. The pool is nice and warm, we used it daily even though we were there at the end of April! The views are unforgettable.

This was my family's third stay at Villa Ciany, the last one being approximately 16 years ago, since then every time I've checked availability it's been unsurprisingly fully booked. It was fabulous then, but even more gorgeous now with updated bathrooms, kitchen etc. and the weather was perfect too. It's so lovely staying in what is obviously a well loved family home. Andrew was so helpful, from booking to providing us with restaurant recommendations and contact number for a reliable taxi driver. We've been visiting Villefranche regularly for 25 years and this is definitely our favourite villa. Mary H

The Villa is in a great spot with all of the amenities that you would ever need. The house is comfortable and relaxed, the best in terms of set up. Beds, Towels, toilets, showers, kitchen larder, washing facilities. The kitchen is the best I have stayed in with everything to cook in if needed. This is my 2nd visit to the Villa with different friends and it was just as lovely as the 1st time. I almost don't want to share this little secret with anyone. I will certainly be back. Just love this place! Andrew and Lee were very responsive with a small issue with the outdoor lighting and nothing too much trouble to ensure the best stay. I didn't want to come home!

The charming villa itself, the stunning view, the great communication with the host, the central location for tourist activities, the support from a local representative when we had a minor plumbing problem - all were truly wonderful. This villa is absolutely outstanding. It’s very high spec, all the equipment and furniture is first class (induction hob, Siemens appliances, White Company linen, Loaf furniture etc.) It’s has everything you need. The owner is lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. Bath, pool and beach towels all provided. Kitchen was partially stocked e.g. milk, butter, oils, salt, pepper. No locked off areas or cupboards. The daily gardener was charming and discreet, the handyman was also very good. The pool was a delight. The location is a slight challenge being on a steep hill but the view pays off! We stayed local and used taxis/Uber all the time including to Nice. Staying here was rather like having fabulous relatives who let you borrow their house for a bit. Faultless. Highly recommend.

My husband, two teen daughters and I had such a fabulous time in Villefranche Sur Mer. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. The home is private without being secluded. The beds are super comfy (which is key for my picky family), the kitchen and bathrooms are perfectly appointed and the garden, pool and outdoor areas are gorgeous. The pictures simply don’t do it justice. We would love to return as a week wasn’t long enough to enjoy the home and all the fabulous places in the area.

Villa Ciany was exactly (if not better) as described. We were 3 couples and found the amenities top class and plenty of space for us all. We did not use the sofa bed in the study but it would sleep another couple comfortably. The view is amazing, the outside eating space perfect with very good fridge/freezer and barbecue. We did not have a car but the Casino grocery shop, butchers and bakery are easy walking distance. Buses are regular above and below the villa and the bus stop outside the villa for the Gentilhomme bus from the station is handy although not too frequent. The steps up from the beach to the villa will be a test for some but a 70+ year old in the party managed it no problem!! We all loved the stay at Villa Ciany and can only highly recommend to anyone.

Villa Ciany is just beautiful in every way! Recently renovated, the kitchen, bathrooms and outdoor living space have all the modern conveniences and have been so tastefully done. Magnificent views from almost every room. The gardens are beautiful and so well maintained. The pool area and outdoor pergola are so inviting - you almost never want to leave! All in all a wonderful week in Villefranche-Sur-Mer and Villa Ciany exceeded our expectations.

Villa Ciany is absolutely amazing! The property and grounds are pristine and utterly beautiful. The views from the villa cannot be beat and I'm still missing getting up in the morning and being welcomed by the sun and the Mediterranean! Andrew was extremely responsive to all of our questions and needs. you won't find a better stocked kitchen than villa Ciany. It's a wonderful location and a fairly easy walk down to the waterfront of shops and restaurants of Villefranche. (It's a bit tougher coming back up but, we did it!). I want to live here but, since I can't I'll opt to come back and stay in Villa Ciany as often as possible! We had a wonderful time! Highly Recommend!

My family and I-six adults- spent a wonderful week at the Villa Ciany. It overlooks the bay in Villefranche and the view is spectacular. The house is very well equipped with everything you need- especially the kitchen. Villefranche has lots of restaurants and is accessible to other towns along the coast via the regular train service.

Everything was perfect! Location, surroundings and the villa itself. This villa is in classic style, but still has all modern amenities needed. Kitchen and bathrooms have been renovated nicely. Nice neighbourhood, heated pool, garage, a lot of space etc etc... Boulangerie, a Casino shop, tennis courts, Nice by a walking distance. Just to mention a few reasons to come back next year!

We just returned from our wonderful stay at Villa Ciany. We have rented numerous villas in southern France and elsewhere, and this is definitely one of the best! Our extended family of 8, ages 15 to 88, were extremely comfortable and happy in this lovely home. The newly-renovated kitchen was the most organized, beautiful, and best-equipped we've encountered. The bathrooms, also newly-renovated, were well-designed and sleek. The beds were SO comfortable - including the fold-out couch, according to my teenagers. Our favorite spot was the wonderful outdoor table under the pergola, where we ate breakfast, lunch, and some dinners - as well as playing cards in the evening. The pool was a perfect size and temperature (be advised there is no shallow end, though, if you have small children). The villa is a short drive from the Villefranche waterfront, tennis courts (to rent), and downtown Nice, and we made daytrips to Eze, Gourdon, and St. Paul-de-Vence. There is a garage for one car but we ended up parking both of our rental cars on the street right outside the upper gate, and never had a problem finding a spot. The owner Andrew was extremely responsive and helpful when we had questions. We walked 7-10 minutes to the bakery and back every morning, and a convenient Casino grocery shop is across the street from the bakery. If you don't like driving on narrow winding streets, you may find the location a bit daunting, but don't let that dissuade you from renting this lovely villa.

Outside in a block by the pool is another shower room and toilet, as well as another fridge and wine cooler by the large dining terrace. The house is beautifully cool thanks to a very effective air conditioning system and the beds all extremely comfortable. There were 6 of us (three couples) and we loved our week here. The restaurant and bars in the harbour were just a 10-15 minute slow walk away down two long flights of steps. We walked down and four of our group Uber’d Back up! (8-10 Euros).Along the sea front in either direction, beaches are a short walk away, as is the train station for direct trains to Nice, Monaco, Menton etc. The Villa was a real treat for us; a taste of the high life! The owner was very helpful prompt answering any emails regarding questions we had.Anything negative? Not really. If a forth couple were going, they would be on a fold out sofa bed in the downstairs study and although every bedroom had it’s own bathroom, two of them weren’t quite en suite; they were either next door or across the landing, but neither of these were an issue for us.We would highly recommend this place if you are considering Villefranche.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience than we had at Villa Ciuny. We were there with our adult and semi-adult children and some partners and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The location is so great that we could go sight seeing all over the Cote d’Azur For half a day and come back to the house to lounge by the pool in afternoons. The house is perfectly stocked with everything we needed. Not one thing wrong. Perfect!!
