Great family home of character. My property is 75 km from Paris making it an ideal destination for a Week-End with family or friends. Between Vetheuil and Giverny, on the way Impressionist this is one of the most beautiful villages in France. We echo all the previous comments about the grandeur of the views and opportunities for indoor/outdoor living. With a large group, the ability to spread out is a real plus. We appreciated the updates, especially the kitchen, which is well-stocked, clean and extremely functional. Portions of the rest of the house could benefit from similar updates, and might be described as "rustic." We happened to stay during the hottest part of the summer. Just be aware if that is the case, there are no air conditioners or fans. All in all, we recommend this family home as a place for your family/group while in France.

Olivia coped most professionally with our late booking, was there to welcome us, and was consistently helpful, even to the extent of phoning us when the lovely local Vet forgot to give us an essential paper for our dog's return to England. Everyone comments on the stunning location: it's simply breathtaking!

A beautiful few days in a French country house

Our stay at this house in La Roche-Guyon was simply wonderful. The photos of the house in the property listing do not do it justice - it is perched on a bluff overlooking the Seine and a sprawling green valley, and on the other side it is approached through a stately park-like garden. We were mesmerized by the view out over the river and as the weather was good during the stay we spent almost all of our time outside on the terrace in the comfortable chairs set out with the view in mind. There hardly seemed to be any attraction in the nearby sights given the environment we had to ourselves. The house itself is comfortable and pleasant; while somewhat meandering inside - this is a country house, after all - it features an up-to-date, well-appointed kitchen as well as a dramatic modern-style sitting-dining "great" room. Bathrooms (3) are clean and functional. The individual rooms themselves are pleasant and comfortable, and we slept well. Check-in was straightforward with good communication throughout; we were met in person Given the large and modern kitchen, we cooked a lot and took our meals outside, watching ships go slowly up and down the Seine. There is a well-stocked supermarket a few kilometers away, and so shopping was easy - a little knowledge of French helps! Paris is accessible in an hour or less by train from a nearby town, and Monet's house & garden is only 10 minutes' drive. But much of the charm of the location is the small French countryside towns in the surrounding area and the beautiful countryside. Highly recommended. We hope to return to stay again.

So Peaceful and great for a family

We stayed here after a very fun and hectic d day anniversary week in bayeux and it was exactly what we had hoped for. I would highly recommend this place if you are traveling with kids or two or even three small families. There are several rooms and all the beds were clean and comfortable. The house feels well loved and has plenty of homey charm. However, the view you get to enjoy from the living room ( and master bedroom) elevates the entire experience so that you feel you could almost be staying in a castle. We were traveling with three young tweens and they got to have the bedroom with the three singles which suited them perfectly and they enjoyed the “trampoline with the best view in France” (If you are traveling with someone who can’t do too many stairs there is a ground level bedroom as well). The owners communicated really well and were really nice and the little towns nearby are lovely. We walked to the town of la roche guyon several times using the little trail through the woods ( a bit steep so not recommended for tender knees). The gardens, cafes, Roman ruins and chateau are fascinating and well worth a visit. Also it is a quick drive over to Giverny. Get there early and enjoy! Many thanks Richard, Olivia and Sophie!

Everyone made us feel very welcome and the villa had everything you expect and need. We wasted too long just gazing at the boats going down The Seine whilst the boys were consumed with the huge garden. More than I expected on the activities to do side and would recommend to anyone to take their bikes. Monet’s garden is a must and we had an enjoyable day in Paris, which is easily got to on the train. Hosts were magnificent and very thoughtful. We would recommend this to anyone.

La maison d'Olivia et Richard est très bien entretenue et parfaitement fonctionnelle, la vue est splendide. Parfait pour un grand bol d'air! C'était un vrai plaisir d'y passer un week-end entre amis, de profiter du mobilier de jardin au soleil et du barbecue pour passer un moment très agréable et très convivial. Merci pour ce séjour !

Très bonne connexion Wifi (fibre) - aucun problème pour télétravailler à plusieurs. Sous la brume ou sous le soleil, maison très agréable. Nous avons passé un week-end du Nouvel An au coin du feu, la maison était très accueillante avec son sapin et ses décorations de Noël. La balade à travers bois pour aller au village est très sympa et accessible pour tous. Le seul bémol est la vaisselle...Pas de coupe de champagne et verres à pied dépareillés...idem pour les assiettes. Dommage pour faire une jolie table pour le réveillon.... Malgré tout, ce fut un week-end très agréable.

Nous avons passé un excellent we entre couples d'amis avec jeunes enfants dans cette grande maison familiale. Très confortable, parfaitement équipée, elle présente une superbe vue, en surplomb, sur les alentours, propice au dépaysement et à la détente ! Les propriétaires sont charmants et très réactifs, tout a été simple en termes d'organisation (+ Fondation Monet, jolis villages et gare à proximité). Nous recommandons vivement !

Nous avons passé un formidable weekend d'automne entre amis. La maison est grande, confortable, située dans un cadre magnifique et son caractère authentique lui donne beaucoup de charme. Sophie qui nous a accueilli est très sympathique et nous a donné toutes les indications nécessaires. Seuls quelques mélomanes pointilleux pourront reprocher l'accordage du piano, mais celà n'est vraiment pas le sujet.... Je recommande vivement cette belle maison.

La maison bénéficie d une vue incroyable à 180 degrés. Mais elle est également très agréable à vivre de l intérieur. Salon très confortable, cuisine super équipées, une multitude de chambre de tailles variables ... La maison n est pas de toute jeunesse mais c est aussi ce qui fait son charme. Nous y reviendrons sans doute.
