Refúgio da Ribeira

First off, we did enjoy our stay. It's a lovely little spot, out of the way where we enjoyed some peace and quiet. Check in was a little bumpy, because we received our final communication from Ana for check in while we were on the island, but there was no instructions on where to go or how to find it. This was resolved, but only on the day of. The bigger issue, which the owner/managers had no control over was that we had to pack up and leave a day early because of a wildfire enveloping the valley in front of us. We were out hiking for day and came back to fire, smoke and all sorts of emergency vehicles on the road. We packed up ans were out within an hour. I have to say that we were disappointed with the assistance that we received from the managers. There was little communication from them while this was going on and no follow up to make sure that we got settled somewhere else. We ended up booking a hotel near the airport.

We stayed in the apartment in Ribeira da Janela, a very beautiful part of the island. The apartment is tiny inside but has a nice terrace with the most amazing view. The kitchen is tiny as well, do not expect to be cooking together, one person just fits. The communication with the owners was very kind and helpful. The house is rustic yet clean, and the bed is quite squeaky and old so don't expect the best nights of your life, but overall we had an amazing and peaceful stay. Thank you!

Schöner Blick auf die Berge, nicht weit von Porto Moniz. Auto ist erforderlich, da doch ziemlich abgelegen, daher ist man aber völlig ungestört. Ddas Haus bietet alles, was man braucht. Nur die Riegel der Fenster und Blenden sollten mal gängig gemacht werden.

Excelente lugar para passar uma relaxante experiência em pleno contacto com a Natureza. O imóvel de estilho rústico, é muito bonito e aconchegante, dispondo de todas as comodidades com destaque para o magnifico quintal com uma vista espectacular. A anfitriã foi muito simpática e atenciosa com excelente comunicação. Algumas sugestões: Existe um pequeno desnível entre a sala de jantar e a cozinha bem como entre a sala de estar que necessita de ser sinalizado com por exemplo com uma fita preta no pavimento ou então com um tapete alto pois por ser do mesmo material, torna-se perigoso no sentido de podermos facilmente tropeçar. A cozinha necessita de um escorredor de loiça bem como mais toalhas extra. A mesa redonda exterior devido a estar vulnerável ao clima, está a se detiorando e necessita de ser reforçada. De notar que essa foi a mesa que mais usamos em toda a nossa estadia até porque a maior parte do tempo foi passado no exterior que uma vez mais elogio. Foi uma experiência muito agradável e definitivamente a repetir e a recomendar. Obrigado Ricardo L.
