It was a charming quiet place with bags of character, in a beautiful location right behind the church, which only had the bells ringing from 9am until about 8pm (so did not disturb our sleep). The pool was wonderful and clean, especially when we used the pool robot to help clean it each morning. It was great having two full bathrooms and an extra toilet and shower in the outside garage area (for use while we used the pool). It was well furnished and had plenty of cooking utensils, etc. The place was more beautiful than what was shown on the photos. The place and whole town was quiet and lovely. It was just a shame there was only 1 small old fan and 1 larger "air-conditioning" unit which blew air over ice but could not cope with keeping the upstairs bedrooms cool in the heat wave during our stay. We understand there cannot be air conditioning in the place due to it being a listed building associated with the church, but it would have been good to have been given at least one more oscillating fan. But we kept the shutters and windows shut during the daytime and once the outside air cooled slightly (by about 11pm) we could open the windows for a bit of cooler air. It was only a 10 minute walk to the river and canoe rental place which was great to do too. It is a 5 minute drive to the shops in the closest town, or a 20 minute drive to Sarlat which has more choice and also an historic town centre that is worth to visit. The host Nelly is obviously very proud of her lovely home.

Nelly was very accommodating and met us late in the evening due to a delayed plane. Her home was clean with traditional furnishings. Quiet and wonderful home base. Outdoor space was excellent, pool was super cold but clean.

Photos did not do the house justice. There is lots of room inside the house, it is well furnished and it is very private & quiet. The owners have renovated the house and made a lot of effort to retain its charm. The pool was the perfect size and was secure. The outside eating area is lovely on a hot day and we all had a fantastic holiday visiting the amazing places that are on their doorstep.The only suggestions that we could make would be a parasol at the pool. The owners were friendly, helpful and charming.Thank you for a lovely stay.Soul Family
