Excellent breakfast

Air conditioner/heater was not working. Door to get into room was malfunctioning, had to barricade door to feel safe because handle was not working, Had a service dog, which the facility did not acknowledge(usually no fee required or pet deposit with other chains that I have stayed with) Front desk people were not welcoming, I felt like it was a bother to them that I was even there.

Mold in bathroom. Breakfast was not ready at 6 am. No hot water for tea. Juice machine was not functioning.

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.

We have stayed at this location 6 times in the last 4 years. We gave it one last shot. Everytime we have stayed this hotel has gone downhill more & more. The cleanliness has declined, broken bathroom floor tiles, dirty carpets, bathrooms not cleaned just to name a few. This hotel needs a major overhaul. We have stayed on every floor in different rooms and they have all declined.

Easy to find location , just off the Tollway. Nice check in staff, very helpful. Spacious room. Nice TV. Large frig. Good room lighting. Happy to have night stands n both sides of the (king)bed. Good breakfast options.

Room did NOT seem to be sound proof, could hear activity in room next to me and hallway all night. Fan with the light switch in the bah room was loud. No attendant at desk when I checked out ( 8:30 AM ), I prefer to have a hard copy at check out for my records and tax purposes.

Well in our assigned room , which are outdated. We found that the sink in BR would not drain water. I reported to desk staff and they tried plastic drain unit to see if they could clear, several attempts were unsuccessful and they would have someone to clear drain, (It would be on a Saturday), they were trying to move us to another room as they were really full. We had to leave for our all day event on Saturday. On our return we found the drain did not work, I did check with the desk informing them of sink still not working. I again went to desk to inquire as we thought they would have it repaired. It was after 8pm when we returned to find sink still did not drain. I spoke to staff again and provided me the Manager’s card to discuss the situation and discuss discount on room. We were checking out early next morning to return home. I contacted the Manager on return home. We discussed the situation and were they going to provide discount refund on my bill. She dis state they tried to contact me on Saturday, the 2nd to offer another room. I have checked my phone calls and did not find a call from Hotel, Since calls not in contacts or register on call, not showing from the Hotel, no message was left. I had asked if they were giving a refund discount on room. She stated yes but did not provide me how much! I did receive a $44 credit to account. Our main objection was even brushing teeth or shaving from the bath shower wasn’t what we were looking for. We did get extra towels as a few times trying to see if water in sink drain, then used towels to get warmer out. It just wasn’t the experience we travelled to Portage for.

There was absolutely nothing that we liked.

Our room was dirty beyond words. Toenails in the pull out sofa, stains all over the lamp shades, toilet handle broken flushed only with force, whole room smelled of dog urine mold and mildew, shower fan wasn't working properly condensation build up all over the place floor swelling in the bathroom from water damage. The carpet was so filthy our feet were black. Totally awful experience. Staff said a woman with dogs lived in the room for a period of time. Unsanitary and the whole overall hotel is outdated, dirty and needs Reviewed.

. Bed was comfy. Room was wonderfully cool. Shower was easy to get in to.

Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Worst eggs I have ever tried to eat in my life. Sausage was rubbery.

I wanted to express my appreciation for the wonderful staff. The lady at the front desk during check-in was incredibly helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond to assist with a special request. Carmen, who was managing the busy breakfast area on her own, did an amazing job keeping things running smoothly. She kindly helped my son make a waffle and maintained a warm, positive attitude despite the rush. Thank you for the excellent service!

I would recommend considering a slight change in the layout or adding a bit more space to the dining area. The food station is quite close to the tables, making it feel congested—especially during busy times. It can be tricky to get out once you have your food, as you need to navigate around closely placed tables where others are eating. A bit more space would really help improve the flow and comfort for everyone.

Hotel centrally located to many destinations. The price was decent for a holiday weekend room booked last minute, wouldn't be a good rate for a normal time. Breakfast was included. Nothing special but still great when traveling with family.

The shower curtain in the room was moldy and smelled horribly. When using the shower, the curtain and bar design do not hold back the water, the bathroom floor would flood every time the shower was used. There was a yellow stain (appeared to be pee) on the comforter but underneath the decorative blanket they have on the end of the bed. The Carpet was wet and smelled funny in some areas so we had to wear our shoes inside all the way up until bedtime. The worker who was working at check in was very aggressive and combative even though I was just checking in which was weird, but some people just hate their lives so whatever I didn't take it personally it was just annoying. The room was advertised as a double queen, the beds were just full size beds not Queens. OVERALL 3/10

Close to fun activities, staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. Had a pool and a gym room.

Tiles were coming up when I stepped on the floor, and the toilets flooded and they gave us towels to clean it up and no help or direction. This has happened before w this same toilet we found out. Door key mechanisms and elevator were outdated and not efficient.

It was okay, a basic accommodation on my way east. Clean. Front desk was exceptionally patient with guest whose credit card had expired. Not too far from State and National Parks.

Not run down, but it's in need of new paint. Not fault of property, but motorcycles traveling on road property faced were loud throughout the night -- Ask for a room in back. Restaurants and stores a short drive.

The breakfast, did not look too appealing, so we just got coffee. Would be nice if more than just half and half. The location was good. The hotel was quiet.

Noise dogs barking , the smell of poop and urine in the hallways. Noisy Guest opening and slamming doors, Guest was eating earlier bought plates from out room very Unsanitary, the lights were out , worker came to tell them breakfast starts at 700, the ignored him, phone was ringing, suggestions next time don't put utensils in serving area. I feel if Pet friendly hotel is ok but, I have allergies and it can become terrible for me. So a designated floor should be for guest and pet owners. I spray my room but each time ,I came out the smell was something else. Parents needs to control their children I'm sorry but this my experience with the stay.Any the young lady who had her Prom send of in the reserve room her and guest was so rude and bumping into to guest it was a bit much. The room door handles were all wonky and the key card reader doesn’t work all the time.

I had to give 1 star to make the review. But it needs to be closed down and remodeled inside and out. The rooms have BLACK MOLE!!!!! The bathroom vent sounds like a loud leaf blower will for sure wake everyone up IF... they can go to sleep. The air in the room sounded like riding in a car at fast speed with the windows cracked. U could hear everything and everyone in hotel go to the bathroom, open a drawer, having sex, fart,sneeze,cough,and shower. The breakfast was sausage was gray very under cooked. I went to the front desk to ask for a refund and was told that the general manager doesn't work on weekends. The front desk person gave me a card with name of the general manager by the name Miriam. I then told her to contact her now because u have a problem with a customer that u can't solve. The lady then text Miriam about the problem she stated the assistant manager will be jn later and will contact me. The assistant later calls me I tell her I have pictures of the black mole and about they say and she the started Miriam would be on contact with me on Monday. No call had to call her multiple times on Monday. She was rude about the situation I just wanted a refund. Shetold me to give her a few months and she we give me another room. I told her I live out of town I never want to stay at this hotel again. She told me to send the pictures to corporate office she didn't care. DON'T EVER STAY AT THIS PROPERTY. I have been sick and coughing ever since I left the hotel chest hurting from inhaling dust and mole..

Old and outdated...old carpet.

This was horrible. First room was not clean. Second room wasn’t much better. Stains on the sheets. We all got sick now that we have left so wondering if there was mold in the room. Pool was disgusting. My kids kept finding hair everywhere. I would not recommend again.

The lack of friendliness by the staff. We stayed for 6nights and it was a hassle to get new towels and fresh linens during our stay. And the free breakfast was slim pickings

The property did not match the picture, the room smelled, the sheets and towels felt like the detergent wasn't washed out, the bathtub was very slow to drain and I was standing in shower water.
