About this house rental

This newly constructed, custom-designed, 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom home has spectacular 180 degree views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding mountains from every room in a very private and safe location, conveniently located in a private enclave near all services and activities.

This home was constructed observing green, ecologically sensitive principles (thus we call it Casa Verde), including solar energy and water conservation.

The house is located in the coveted Pacifico development, a secure development with high-end beautifully appointed homes. Casa Verde is on a quiet street, up a hill at the end of a cul-de-sac. It is surrounded by a ravine on one side and a biological preserve on the other side, so it is has a feeling of being secluded while still in the heart of it.

When you approach the house, you only have a glimpse of what is awaiting you when inside. You can enter the house from the slightly sloped path from the driveway to the front door, or from the garage which has six steps down to the hallway. The drama of the house hits you when you walk in the front entry into the light-filled tower. From there, the house opens up to the great room - a spacious, light filled room with cathedral beamed ceilings, containing the living area, a dining area, and a full kitchen with island. At the opposite side of the great room is a full wall of sliding windows that open up to make you feel that you are living outdoors, showing you the spectacular view from every spot in the room. Through those doors is the main patio (more about that below).

Off the great room is a small den with a desk to allow for some private space, with a half bath off the den. The den also has a sliding door to the patio.

On either side of the great room are the bedroom wings. On one side, through a short hall that contains the laundry room, is the master bedroom suite. The master bedroom has a king size bed, custom-made furniture, a spacious closet with plenty of hanging space, and an en-suite bathroom. The master bathroom has two sinks, a toilet and a waterfall shower. Feel like you are showering outdoors, when you look out the windows to the ocean view and the adjacent biological preserve where birds and monkeys roam through the trees. In the bedroom, there is a sliding glass door with views to the ocean with access to the patio.

On the other side of the great room is the guest bedroom wing, where there are two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have sliding glass doors with views of the ocean accessing the exterior patio. The first bedroom has a queen size bed, spacious closet, and en-suite bathroom with one sink, toilet, and a shower with windows onto the ocean view. The second guest bedroom has a king bed that can be separated into two twin beds, a spacious closet and en-suite bathroom the same as the first bedroom.

There is a fourth room downstairs, a mini-apartment, with its own private entry that can be accessed by a set of stairs from the front of the house, or a set of stairs in the back off the patio. (This room would not be handicapped accessible). The room has a king size bed that can be separated into two twin beds. It has a little living area with a futon/sofa, a TV, and a small dining table with chairs. It has a little kitchenette with a microwave, small fridge, and sink. It has a walk-in closet, two sinks, a toilet, a shower with a view. It has its own little patio with seating available for private moments.

More about the main patio... This is where you will get the full impact of the drama of the house. The patio offers stunning and dramatic views of the ocean, town, and mountains, and is an incredibly relaxing location where playful birds like parrots and hummingbirds offer endless entertainment. The patio is covered and fully shaded for at least half the day, with ceiling fans to assist the cooling ocean breezes. The patio offers a sofa set allowing seating for 8, a dining set allowing seating for 8, and a gas grill off to the side. The pool is at the outer edge of the patio, with stairs to get in and out of the pool. Once in, you can sit on the custom-designed bench in the pool facing out to the ocean, and let your troubles drift away. This space offers stunning ocean views all day long. Enjoy your coffee in the cool mornings, take a dip in the pool in the heat of the afternoon, have a cocktail while you watch the sun set and clouds turn on fire, and dine al fresco in the cool evening while you watch the stars fill the sky.

To one side of the patio is a circular staircase going up to the parapet, an upper level deck with even more stunning views and ocean breezes. This offers more comfortable seating, and is a private place to get away from it all when a quiet spot is welcomed.

This custom-designed and professionally decorated house includes all expected high end amenities. All rooms, including bedrooms, have USB ports, so you can always stay charged and connected. All bathrooms have blow dryers.

The living room boasts leather sofas, custom made furniture, a large screen Sony TV for you to connect to your Netflix account, and a DVD player for your own movies or those from our DVD library.

The kitchen boasts custom-make cabinetry, has all standard appliances, and is fully stocked with small appliances, cookware, bakeware, dishware, utensils and glassware allowing you to prepare full meals if you want to stay in. The kitchen has a nine foot long island for socializing and meal preparation.

From the Pacifico development you will have boundless opportunities nearby with 5+ pools, tennis courts, workout facilities, yoga studio, biking, world class fishing and diving centers and golf. For the ultimate in relaxation, you have access to the stunning Pacifico Beach Club (on a fee basis), which is an oceanfront pool area right on the beach. While there, food and drinks are brought to you by friendly servers while you lounge the days away gazing at the sparkling Pacific, snoozing, talking, reading and taking the occasional ocean or pool dip to refresh yourself.

Our management will be happy to arrange private tours of the beaches and volcanoes within a short drive where you can engage in birding, plant study, hiking, zip lining, mud baths, horseback riding, standing in a waterfall, rafting and tubing.

We hope you love it here as much as do! You are not going to want to leave once you come!

What a great way to enjoy Costa Rica. The house worked out great and we started and ended each day on the back patio by the pool with an amazing view of the Pacific. The Pacifico Beach Club was an extra bonus! We also loved the parade of exotic animals by the house with monkeys, coatis, parrots and more.

This home has a beautiful view and plenty of space. The manager was easy to work with, and we loved our time in Costa Rica. We did not feel comfortable using the basement apartment due to its stale smell. And our biggest disappointment was that nothing, and I mean nothing, is walkable from this location. Gorgeous view of the fireworks on New Years, but walking to the beach or any restaurants would take an hour or more. Not two minutes.

6 of us stayed here in Dec. The house is as it appears in the photos. It’s large and airy with a beautiful view from the patio. The upstairs bedrooms were private, each with their own bathroom and sliding glass door to the back. There are plenty of places to sit in the common area and a kitchen well stocked for cooking your own meals. The house was very clean and the AC worked well. We had a couple lil’ issues when we first got there, like ants coming out of our toilet, but we were easily able to get a hold of Andres (the house manager) to get those issues resolved. A few things I’d like to mention for people unfamiliar with the area…this house is in a gated development called Pacifico. Although it’s very close to the town Playas del Coco and the beach, you will have to drive there because the house is a ways into this development and it’s on a pretty steep hill. There are hiking trails in Pacifico, one going to a waterfall, that we didn’t get a chance to explore. There is also a shuttle that can take you to a really nice beach club with a restaurant, bar, pool and jacuzzi, yoga classes, and a spa (right on the beach) that’s for Pacifico. It was 25 but that applies towards food/drinks so not a bad deal. We checked it out, but unfortunately, didn’t get to spend any time there. You may want to check when booking about an updated list of it items the house comes with. For example, it wasn’t a big deal that there wasn’t shampoo/cond. but beach towels would’ve been nice.

We had an extended stay at this beautiful property in Pacifico at Playa del Coco. This place is spectacular!! I was there solo for 5 days before my family joined me and felt completely safe in this gated community. Steve was extremely responsive prior to my arrival and Bill, the property manager, made my stay extra special. Bill was waiting for me at the airport and transported me to the house with a stop at the grocery store. The local stores have everything we needed - felt like home. This impressive home worked beautifully for my family with 4 bedrooms, one of which was a private suite in the lower level. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to dine in and the private pool was just right for relaxing and enjoying the ocean view. We did spend a couple days at the Pacifico Beach Club, paying a daily entry fee. It was a fun change of pace and the service and food at the club was exceptional. Bill, the property manager, made our stay extra special. He was very attentive to our needs and made us feel like family. He helped us rent a golf cart (you will need this) and arranged for Covid testing when we returned to the US. He was the perfect host and a true ambassador for Costa Rica.I would definitely recommend renting this home - well worth it! Kudos to Steve for building this slice of heaven right here on earth and to Bill for making us feel so welcome.
