Holzerhof Lothen , Campolino

The building is located a bit away from Bruneck, so it's quieter but also harder to get to. A car is recommended. The apartment had a small kitchen and there was enough space. There is free parking and the owners kindly offered to securely lock my bikes in their barn for the night.

To be honest, this accommodation was somewhat average. The whole apartment was aged, the bed was a pull out sofa (with a good mattress though). The kitchen utensils were a wild mix and worn. The bathroom was equally worn (the shower head was leaking and calcified). There is a washing machine but it is shared. I just didn't get a welcoming impression, the fridge had drinks in it but one had to pay for them 1.50 Euro and even each egg in the fridge from the local hen was for sale for 80cents. I rather have nothing in the fridge OR pay more for the accommodation per night and have these included. Instead this just leaves an unpleasant impression (paying around 100 Euro per night but pay 80 cents per each egg on top?). To sum it up, there is nothing outright wrong with the accommodation, I have simply experienced better value for money and more welcoming accomodation before.

Cosy cottage, Markus was very helpful and met us near the house showing the parking place. He prepared everything for us: drinks, toasts, fresh eggs and brought fresh milk from the farm.
