Hotel Valkenburg by Mercure - Next to Shimano Experience Center

De kamer was netjes ingericht met een uitstekend werkende airco. Koffie- en thee faciliteiten aanwezig als ook een klein koelkastje. De fohn werkte goed. Het restaurant was gezellig en de spellen en biljarttafel maakten het een fijne sfeer. Ik vond het fijn dat het hotel iets van Valkenburg af ligt. Een korte wandeling en je zit midden in de drukte, het hotel straalde voor mij een fijne rust uit. Kies voor parkeerplaats ParCourse II, dat scheelt in de kosten. Parkeerplaats is dichtbij het hotel. Er was wel een mogelijkheid om eerst je bagage in het hotel te zetten en daarna je auto op de parkeerplaats te parkeren.

Location is nice.

Room was severely overpriced, which could be explained by popular events in the area. Room was freezing cold, we were not able to bring the temperature down to a comfortable level, our only option was to turn off the AC and wait. The carpet was stained throughout the room, which gave the room a dirty appearance. We arrived fairly late, around 10PM. There were no meals available, ended up having to order takeaway. The bed was OK but there was only one very small and flat pillow per person, we both woke up aching. When asked "how did you sleep?" Our answer was "not great". The staff member did not inquire at all as to the reason and changed the subject. Breakfast was mediocre at best, most of the food was dry. Would not recommend this hotel, we will not be back.
