Riad Kasbah Baraka

Good location inside the medina, but the address given on the website and the address given by the Owner is not precise enough to get there. We had to be helped to find it by 3 local men who saw us wandering around the nearby riads. The place is definitely clean, inside there is a beautiful patio with plants. Each room has a bathroom, the kitchen is fully equipped.

Contact with the Owner via booking is difficult, she replies with delay, not answering all the questions. A lady (probably a cleaner) was waiting for us on site, only opened the door for us and went back to cooking in the kitchen, without showing nor explaining anything. She could not communicate in any language (we tried in French/Spanish/English/Arabic via google translate - she did not understand anything). She has her own keys, you never knew when she would show up to clean, sometimes when we returned to the riad she was simply there without any warning. In our bathroom, the water drainage was difficult, the main light in the room did not work. Terrible WiFi, despite a full connection, works very slowly. We ordered breakfast once - typical Moroccan pancakes with jam and mint tea with ton of sugar - in my opinion all in all too sweet, there was no savory option. The lady sent to prepare the breakfast also couldn't speak any language, we spent 15 minutes to explain her the maths in our payment method.

Great location, close to a car park. Clean property. Helpful staff, who prepared a good breakfast. A really lovely riad, very nicely decorated.

We had to pay a city tax at the end of the stay. This was mentioned at booking, but ideally it would have been included up front.

There is cheap parking on the main road by the Riad, just 30 seconds away. So this is very good and it's very close to the airport. I had the Riad to myself so it was nice and quiet. It was very close to the main road so it was easy to get to but it's also a nice walk into the Medina so it's the best of both worlds (getting out of Madina area or walking right into the middle of it). Often if you're in the Medina you need to walk into it for a long way from taxi or parking etc, but this place is easy.

The water was only warm, not hot. Not great if you like hot showers or similar. The host wasn't at the Riad, instead, there is a caretaker who comes to meet you when you check-in, or cook your breakfast in the morning.
