Riad Le Saadien ,Adult only

Everything was great, to the food, service, rooms and rooftop space. In handy walking distance to everything also without being in the hectic centre - a welcome escape at times! Will visit again

We chose Riad Le Saadien because it was listed on Booking.com as an “Adult Only” property. Unfortunately, that wasn’t our experience, as there were families with young children staying at the riad during our visit. This wasn’t an issue with the guests themselves, but it was unexpected given how the property is advertised and influenced our decision to book. There were several things we really enjoyed. The staff were consistently warm, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The riad itself is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in during our travels in Morocco.

There were a few other areas where I think future guests would appreciate knowing what to expect. The Wi-Fi was quite unreliable, so I wouldn’t recommend planning to work remotely, scroll Instagram or stream anything from the riad (normally we wouldn’t do any of these things on vacation, but we visited in early August so we retreated to our room for siestas in the afternoon). It might not have been so bad if there was a TV in the room. We also requested laundry service. We had assumed our clothes would be sent to a laundry service, but instead they were washed at the riad and returned damp, hanging throughout our room to dry. We wouldn’t have minded this if it had been explained beforehand, but it came as a surprise (plus, it was €40 for a small load, when the Booking.com review touts a washer and dryer as features… and €40 for essentially just wash service, while I had to dry and fold is wild). Overall, this is a lovely riad with genuinely kind staff and a beautiful atmosphere. However, I think the listing should more accurately reflect the guest experience, particularly regarding the “Adult Only” designation, and I hope these details help future travelers decide whether it’s the right fit for their stay.

Aesthetically this riad is spectacular, and the staff are second to none. The rooftop terrace was delightful, as was the (overpriced) lunch.

Unfortunately, as soon as we entered the property we were accosted with a smell of damp. This got much worse once we reached our room and found the whole thing reeked from the lack of airlocks on drains. There were also exposed live electrical wires coming out of unfinished work in the wall.
