About this cottage rental
Magnificent Stone house, 171m2, just a 7min drive from Kalamata on the foothills of mount Kalathi, overlooking the Messinian Bay. It has two floors and a huge loft. A renovated old village house rebuilt in 1991. The natural stone keeps the house cool in summer months!
SIZE AND DESCRIPTION OF HOUSE
This is not your average commercial property. It was custom made and has several unique properties. It has two floors and a huge loft. The total living space is 171m2. The majority of it is a stone build. The first floor has an open plan kitchen bathroom, living/dining room with a large fire place. There are small crevices in the rock walls with hidden lights which give it a uniqueness There is a balcony with a great view of the Messinian bay and Kalamata. Upstairs is the huge loft. This is used as a bedroom. There is a huge window and one can lie in bed and watch the Messinian bay.
The ground floor consists of a second spacious living room, two bedrooms one of which is embedded within the rock and a bathroom. Outside there is a large stone paved terrace ideal for sunbathing and reading in a tranquil environment.
The whole property is rented to YOU so there are no other folk around on premises to disturb your stay.

Located just a 5-10 minute drive to the center of Kalamata. It is located within the Village of Kato Verga which is one of the in spots during the summer months. However it is in such a spot that you are completely surrounded by peace and quiet. It's not on the main road but on a side walk approx a minutes walk from the main road within the village. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the large cities then this is it.
Hop in your car or on your Vespa to scoot about from this tranquil zen retreat. Minutes to the beach, nearby villages and night life of Kalamata.

Plus: Wonderful terraces overlooking Kalamata.
Negative: This is a stone house and can be quite cold. We successfully heated the living room area, but could not heat the lower bedroom. Also the house is a long way up a winding road and somewhat out of town.

La villa si trova poco lontano da Kalamata, con una vista stupenda. Per raggiungerla bisogna parcheggiare la macchina e proseguire a piedi e con vari bagagli non è proprio comodissimo. La casa è ristrutturata molto grande divisa su tre piani. Il piano terra e un soppalco e un un piano sottostante molto fresco.
Di spazio non ne manca. L’unica cosa che conseiglierei al proprietario di verificare gli oggetti all’interno ogni tanto...alcuni non funzionano. Ad eempio il condizionatore e lo stereo del piano terra non funzionano, la cappa della cucina molto polverosa, una sdraio fuori è rotta...sembrano più cose messe lì per arredare ma non utilizzabili.
In compenso la vista è la pace di cui si gode ripaga del resto.
